Curtis Daniel Yates, age 42, of Mena, Arkansas died Sunday, August 28, 2016 at his home. He was born on Tuesday, June 25, 1974 to Hershel H. Yates Jr. and Betty Jane Hendrick Yates Pate in Springfield, Missouri.
Curtis graduated from Mena High School in 1992. He enjoyed the outdoors and going hunting and fishing. He was a carpenter by trade and loved woodworking. Curtis was known for making bird houses. He loved his family and spending time with them. Curtis was a loving son, brother and uncle and friend and will be missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his father, two sisters, Teresa Campbell and Melody Yates, grandparents, Curtis M. Hendrick, Betty R. Love Hendrick, Hershel H. Yates, Sr. and Thelma Yates.
Curtis is survived by his mother and stepfather, Jane and Glen Pate of Mena; his brother and sister in law, Nathan and Regina Yates of Smithville; uncle and aunt, Ed & Sunny Hendrick of Granite Bay, California; nieces and nephews, Zachary Campbell of Watson, Oklahoma, Lindzy Campbell Henry of Jacksonville, Florida, Tylor Williams of Fort Smith, Ryan Williams of Brownwood, Texas, Kaitlynn Yates of Wynne, Arkansas and Izik Yates of Wynne, Arkansas and a host of other relatives and friends.
Graveside services will be Thursday, September 1, 2016 at 10:00 A.M. at the Pinecrest Memorial Park with Brother Ron Ladd officiating. No public visitation. Arrangements are entrusted to Bowser Family Funeral Home in Mena.
Wilma Francis Taliaferro
April 9, 1927 - September 1, 2016
On September 1, 2016, Wilma Taliaferro, at the age of 89, peacefully left this earth while surrounded by loving family and caregivers. She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Leslie Taliaferro. Her family would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to friends and caregivers for their loving friendship and care. Wilma and Leslie moved from Dallas, Texas to Mena in 1980. They are survived by son, Leslie Taliaferro and his wife Susan; daughter, Virginia Topley and her husband David; granddaughter Jennifer Paradise and her husband Nash; great grandson Nash, Jr.; nieces and nephews and their families.
No services are planned with cremation services entrusted to Bowser Family Funeral Home in Mena.
Madge Lou Patrick
March 9, 1926 - August 24, 2016
Madge Patrick, age 90, of Mena, died Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at the Mena Manor. She was born on Tuesday, March 9, 1926 to Joseph Bert and Maude Lou Ralph Deramus in Cherry Hill, Arkansas.
Madge loved life and enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. Madge was a loving mother, grandmother, aunt and friend and will be missed by all who knew her.
She is preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Lloyd Deramus, James Ed Deramus and Charles Deramus; three sisters, Dollie Lawrence, Mollie Cole and Dean Lawrence.
Madge is survived by her two son and daughters in law, Bobby and Pam Pullen of Mena and Jeff and Emily Pullen of Mena; four grandchildren, Andrew Pullen of Wink, Texas, Sherry Van Zandt of Odessa, Texas, Jeff Pullen Jr. of Mena and Shannon Abbott of Mena; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
Graveside services will be Saturday, August 27, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. at the Cherry Hill Cemetery with Brother Mark Lyle officiating. Visitation will be Friday, August 26, 2016 from 6-8 P.M. at the Bowser Family Funeral Home Chapel in Mena.
Benedict "Joe" Joseph Osborne Jr.
June 9, 1945 - September 2, 2016
Benedict "Joe" Joseph Osborne Jr., age 71, of Hatfield, Arkansas died Friday, September 2, 2016 at his home. He was born Saturday, June, 9, 1945 to Benedict Joseph Sr. and Orvella Mae Amos Osborne in Louisville, Kentucky.
Joe as he was known to all was a man the loved his family and his country. He served in Vietnam in the United States Air Force for 4 years and was honorably discharged. Joe was a patient man and had his own way of doing things. Joe enjoyed the outdoors; going deer hunting, setting on his porch enjoying the birds and squirrels in the yard, and going backroading. He was a lifetime member of the Mena Elks Lodge #781 and was a big Arkansas Razorbacks Fan. Joe worked many years at U.S. Motors and then for over 25 years for Rose Aircraft. Joe was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend and will be missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Sheila Osborne and two grandchildren, Joey Karstedt and Matthew Karstedt.
Joe is survived by his loving wife, Diane Osborne of Hatfield; one son and daughter in law, Shawn and Lori Osborne of Shawnee, Oklahoma; two brothers, Terry Osborne of Louisville, Kentucky and Mike Osborne of Sellersburg, Indiana; seven grandchildren, Kyle Karstedt of Arkansas, Brandi Karstedt of Lake Charles, Louisiana, D.J. and Katie Osborne of Travis Air Force Base in California, Tyler Osborne of Smithville, Oklahoma, Dustin Danner of Shawnee, Oklahoma and Javen Osborne of Shawnee, Oklahoma; three great grandchildren, Abigayle Karstedt of LaGrange, Texas, Debra Broch of Cove and Conner Osborne of Travis Air Force Base in California; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
Graveside Services will be Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at 10:00 A.M. at the Six mile Cemetery in Hatfield with Brother Ron Tilley officiating. Visitation will be Monday, September 5, 2016 from 6-8 P.M. at the Bowser Family Funeral Home Chapel in Mena.
Pallbearers will be Butch Cecil, Greg Cecil, Shawn Osborne, D.J. Osborne, Dylan Cecil and Tyler Osborne.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Lamar Martin, Felix "Bud" Davis, Carl Foster, Cecil Rose, Keith Foley, James McCulley, Ray Baker, Jim Franz, Charlie Campbell, Jamie Anderson and Henry Cogburn.

Jimmy Dell Leinneweber
September 12, 1935 - September 11, 2016
Jimmy Dell Leinneweber, age 80, of Mena, died Sunday, September 11, 2016 at his home. He was born on Thursday, September 12, 1935 to John Purdenalus and Lula Sunshine Harden Leinneweber in Caddo, Oklahoma.
Jim as he was known by friend and family served his country proudly in the United States Navy for 20 years during the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam Era. He tried to live his life as a servant of the Lord always working in ministry through the church where he was an Elder for many years at the Waldron Seventh Day Adventist Church. Jim loved his family and enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. Jim enjoyed woodworking and working on the genealogy of the Holy Bible, from Genesis to Revelations. Jim was a loving, compassionate father, grandfather, uncle and friend, and will be missed by all who knew him.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Wanda Leinneweber and his sister, Doris Leinneweber.
Jim is survived by his two sons and daughters in law, Ty and Kelly Leinneweber of Reading, Pennsylvania and Clayton and Carolyn Leinneweber of Harrah, Oklahoma; three daughters and sons in law, Alice and Doug Scritchfield of Little Rock, Becky Swatvanbrooke of Arizona and Arleen and Shane Hunt of Kalispell, Montana; two brothers, Doug Leinneweber and Clyde Leinneweber both of Sherman, Texas; sixteen grandchildren, Chris Scritchfield, Claire Scritchfield, Robert Leinneweber, Kyle Leinneweber, Christina Leinneweber, Clayton Leinneweber II, Candice Leinneweber, Corey Leinneweber, Joshua Elmore, Amber Feese, Megan Elmore, Stephanie Castillo, Cynthia Hunt, Melissa Hunt, Travis Hunt and Brandon Hunt; thirteen great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
A memorial services will be Saturday, September 17, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. at the Bowser Family Funeral Home Chapel in Mena. Cremation services have been entrusted to Bowser Family Funeral Home in Mena.

Travers Austin Mitchell
October 15, 1951 - June 21, 2016
Travers Austin Mitchell, age 64 of Acorn, died Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at his home. He was born on October 15, 1951 to Richard Warren and Edith Murroll Hight Mitchell in Bryan, Texas.
He was a Christian and served the Lord with all his heart. Travers worked over 40 years in construction and worked in Talihina for many years at the Choctaw Nation Hospital as the construction supervisor. He loved building things and was a perfectionist at it. He served his country in the United States Marine Corp during the Vietnam Conflict. Travers enjoyed going camping and fishing. Travers was a devoted husband, father, brother, and friend and will be missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Travers is survived by his wife Sandra “Sandy” Mitchell of Acorn; his daughter, Carly Jo Rich of Cummings Georgia, his stepson, Steve Stillwell of Acorn; one brother, Richard Mitchell of Bryan, Texas; one sister, Andrea Usrey of San Antonio, Texas; three grandchildren, Everett Rich, Cole Rich and Jackson Rich; two nephews, Brian and Mitchell Usrey and a host of other relatives and friends.
A celebration of Travers’ life will be Saturday, July 9, 2016 at 1:00 P.M. at the Bowser Family Funeral Home Chapel in Mena with Steve Stillwell officiating. Cremation services are entrusted to Bowser Family Funeral Home in Mena.
