David Jackson
David Eugene Jackson, 50, died Friday, October 22.
He was a resident of Marianna and an employee of CAMACO. He also was a
veteran of the U.S. Army.
He is survived by his wife, Jennifer Jackson of Marianna; one daughter,
Jeanette Roberts of West Helena; a son, David Eugene Jackson of
Marianna; one step-daughter, Donnie Rose of Marianna; mother, Beatrice
Jackson of Earle; two brothers, Kenneth Jackson of Earle and William
Jackson of West Memphis; two sisters, Juanita Shiplet of Earle and
Jennie Laborreare of Memphis; and two grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Friday, November 5, at 10 a.m., at
Roller-Citizens Chapel with Rev. Austin Hamilton officiating. Burial
followed at Marianna Memorial Park.
Pallbearers were Patrick Shiplett, John Novell, Harold Jackson, Travis
Simpson, David McNair and Kenneth Jackson.
Honorary pallbearers were Darrel Roberts, Jr., Jasper Graham, Billy
Westmoreland, William Eugene Jackson and Roy Vondran.
Arrangements were handled by Roller-Citizens Funeral Home.
Alvie Brown
Alvie Brown, 93, died Friday, November 5, at Baptist Central Hospital in
Memphis.
She was a resident of Marianna and a homemaker. She also was a member of
Petty's Chapel Baptist Church.
She is survived by three sons, Bob Brown of Marshall, Charles Brown of
Marianna and Jimmy Brown of Marked Tree; one daughter, Jennie Huff of
Scotland; 26 grandchildren and 71 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Edgar Brown and William Brown and
two daughters, Nona Mae Westbrook and Margaret Brown.
Funeral services were held Monday, November 8, at 2 p.m., at
Roller-Citizens Chapel with the Rev. Alan Brown and Rev. Gene Craig
officiating. Burial followed at LaGrange Cemetery.
Pallbearers were grandson, Charlie Huff, Charlie Brown, Tommy Brown,
Ronald Huff and Tim Brown.
Honorary pallbearer was Donald Huff.
Arrangements were handled by Roller-Citizens Funeral Home.
Herma Atterbery
Herma Lene Ford Atterbery, 62, died Saturday, October 27.
She was born on February 6, 1937 in Marianna to Dial Erhma and Lovia
Ford who preceded her in death.
She is survived by her husband, Joseph Atterbery and one sister, Irma
Jean Thompson of Marianna.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, November 2, at 11 a.m., at Higgins
and Son Funeral Home Chapel in Fairburn, Georgia with Rev. Aaron Lackley
officiating.
Arrangements were handled by Higgins and Son Funeral Home in Fairburn.
Larry King, Jr.
Larry King, Jr., 48, died Thursday, February 18.
He is survived by his wife, Shandra Langston of Marianna; his
grandmother, Jaunita Langston of Marianna; his stepmother, Pearl King,
also of Marianna; six children, Judy Edwards and Larry King, III, both
of Marianna, Lacey Rither, Kimberly King and Nicole King, all of
Milwaukee, and Shaneta King of Texas; seven grandchildren; seven
sisters, Jaunita Guy of Pontiac, MI, Sylvia Sharp of Milwaukee, Shelia
Bailey of Little Rock, Kathy McFadden of Jonesboro, Jacuqline Ingram,
Deborah Taylor and Peggy Taylor, all of Marianna; and ten brothers,
Anthony Wilkins, Jonathan Sharp, both of Milwaukee, Leroy Wright of
Pontiac, Michael Taylor of Fayetteville, Carl Long of Forrest City, Eric
King of Arlington, TX, Baron and Daron King, both of Fort Worth, Derrick
King of Fairview Heights and James Long of Marianna.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Taylor and Eugene
Wright.
Funeral services were held Saturday, February 27, at New Bethel M.B.
Church with Bishop Michael Thomas officiating.
Pallbearers were Anthony Wilkins, Jonathan Sharp, Micheal Taylor, Leroy
Wright, Baron King, Daron King, Derrick King and Eric King.
Honorary pallbearers were James McFadden, James Long, James McFadden,
Jr., Ervin Hill, Robert McFadden, Earl Taylor and Demario McFadden.
Jeremy Evans
Jeremy Craig Evans, 22, died Friday, February 26.
He was a resident of Lee County and a correctional officer at East
Arkansas Correctional Institution in Brickeys.
He is survived by a son, J.T. Evans of Moro; his mother, Connie Collier
of Paducah, KY; his father, Tony Evans of Texas; a brother, Kerry
(Pee-Wee) Crump of Moro; a sister, Krissy Anderson of West Helena;
maternal grandmother, Dee Cook of Moro; a step-brother, Gene Collier, a
step-sister, Emily Collier and a step-father, Ronnie Collier, all of
Paducah; special aunt and uncle, Kim and Rusty Crump of Moro; and three
cousins, John Crump, Michael Crump and Adam Crump, all of Moro.
He was preceded in death by his step-father, Kim Anderson.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, March 3, at 3 p.m. at Moro Baptist
Church with Rev. Bill Elliot officiating. Burial followed at Oak Grove
Cemetery in Moro.
Pallbearers were Honor Guards at the Brickeys prison.

Ophelia Williams
Ophelia Mae Bailey Williams, 86, died Monday, March 15, at Jefferson
Regional Medical Center in Pine Bluff.
She was a resident of Lexa and a member of the Friendship M.B. Church in
Rondo, where she served as a clerk, Sunday school teacher and announcer.
She is survived by her daughter, Martha Bailey of Rondo; two
step-children, Russell Bailey of Gary, Ind. and Betty Henderson of
Rondo; two sisters; Mildred Bonds and Molline Cox, both of Chicago;
seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and two great great
grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday, March 20, at 2 p.m. at the
Friendship M.B. Church in Rondo with Rev. Johnson officiating. Burial
followed at the Friendship Baptist Cemetery in Rondo.
Arrangements were handled by Stephens Funeral Home.
Robert Locke
Robert Lee Locke, 47, died Monday, March 15.
He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Lottie Zell Locke; one brother,
William Grant Locke, Jr.; five sisters, Patricia Ann Williams, Emma Jean
Sanders, Viola Mae Locke, Martha Lee Hampton and Linda Carol Locke; two
daughters, Deborah Ann Newman and Jeretha Latrice Locke; and five
grandchildren.

Highley Funeral Home at 1 p.m. Burial followed at Pilgrim Cemetery.

Willie Lipscomb
Willie Lipscomb, 71, died Saturday, March 20, in Helena.
He was a resident of Lee County.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon B. Lipscomb; seven daughters, Bobby
Jean Watson, Sonja Humbert, Fannie Lipscomb, Annie Carol Lipscomb, Kim
Lipscomb, Kathy Lipscomb and Bessie Lipscomb, all of Chicago; five sons,
Maxie Lipscomb of Benton Harbor, MI, Willie Lipscomb III, Cartez
Lipscomb, Freddie James Lipscomb and Acie Jenkins, all of Chicago, IL;
three aunts, Annie Bell Turner and Lula Posey, both of Memphis and
Fannie Mae Garrett of Dallas; 34 grandchildren and 19
great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 27, at 1 p.m. at New
Bethel M.B. Church. Burial will follow at Pilgrim Cemetery in Marianna.
Visitation will be held Friday, from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. at J.E. Kennedy
Funeral Home.
