Geneva Bokey Piper

Geneva”Bokey” Piper, age 69, of Mena, Arkansas passed away Sunday, May 27, 2012.
She was born June 16, 1942 in Needmore, Arkansas to the late Robert “Bob” Scott and the late Bonnie Wilhite Scott. Geneva was married to R. D. Piper on May 8, 1959 in Parks, Arkansas. She attended the Chant Lane Pentecostal Church in Boles, Arkansas and was an inspector for Aalfs and worked in the meat market at Moran’s Food Land in Mena. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend to all who knew her and loved her. She will be dearly missed by all.

She was preceded in death by daughter, Donna Jean Piper, parents, Robert and Bonnie Scott, sisters, Aldena Tinder and Thelma Johnston.
Graveside services will be Wednesday, May 30, 2012, at 10:00 a.m. in Rock Springs Cemetery at Posey Hollow in Mena, Arkansas with Brother Mike Shaddon, Brother Roy Bass,Jr. and Brother Herman Woodard officiating under the direction of the Beasley-Wood Funeral Home of Mena. Family and friends visitation will be Tuesday, May 29, 2012 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Beasley-Wood Funeral Home.

Mr. Glen Dale May, age 68, of Mena, Arkansas, passed away Tuesday, June 5, 2012 in Hot Springs.
He was born January 6, 1944 in Mena, Arkansas to the late Harvey Glen May and the late Effie Barton May. He was united in marriage to Trudy Helms May. He was in Poultry Maintenance and was of the Baptist faith. Mr. May also served his country proudly in the United States Navy. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and Effie May and by 2 sisters, Betty Deer and Linda Wilcox.
Funeral services will be Saturday, June 9, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Freewill Baptist Church in Mena with Brother Donnie Jewell officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of the Beasley-Wood Funeral Home. Visitation will be general.
Pallbearers are Brian May, Ronnie Jewell, James Sullivan, Chance Allen, Stevie Willis and Larry Hall. Honorary pallbearer is Mary Willis.
Stella Marie Bowen

Stella Marie Cunningham Bowen, age 55, of Mena, formerly of Watson, Oklahoma passed away, Saturday, April 14, 2012 in Ft. Smith, Arkansas.
She was born in Mena, Arkansas to Grover and Nita Cunningham. Stella was married to Jerry ‘Squirrel” Bowen for many happy years and was a homemaker. She loved going fishing and spending time with her grandchildren. Stella loved her family very much and was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and a friend to all who knew and loved her.

Graveside services will be Tuesday, April 17, 2012, 10:00 a.m. at Watson Cemetery in Watson, Oklahoma with Brother Randy Keiss officiating under the direction of the Beasley-Wood Funeral Home of Mena.
Family will be receiving friends for lunch and fellowship following the service at the Panther Creek Christian Church.
Family and friends visitation will be Monday, 16, 2012, 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Beasley-Wood Funeral Home of Mena.
Robert L. "Bob" Rodgers

Robert L. “Bob” Rodgers, Jr. age 82, of Mena, Arkansas, passed away Monday, April 16, 2012 in Mena.
He was born June 17, 1929 in Mena, Arkansas to the late Robert L. Rodgers, Sr. and the late Iva Wimberly Rodgers. He was united in marriage to the late Charlene Cogburn Rodgers. Bob was the Superintendent at Dale Rodgers Lumber Mill for over 40 years, and also served his country in the United States Army. He was devoted to his Pentecostal faith and served as Board Member and Sunday School Superintendent at Abundant Life United Pentecostal Church. He was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother-in-law and friend.

Interment follows in Pinecrest Memorial Park under the direction of the Beasley-Wood Funeral Home. Visitation for family and friends will be Tuesday evening, April 17th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. David L. Spellman, age 74, of Mena, Arkansas, passed away Wednesday, April 11, 2012 in Little Rock.
He was born September 28, 1937 in Jacksonville, Florida to the late William M. Spellman and the late Lolene Hopper Spellman. He was united in marriage to Retha Witt Spellman. He was a carpenter by profession and was a member of Christ’s Church at Mountain Fork. Mr. Spellman was also a veteran, serving his country in the United States Army. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend.

Funeral services will be Saturday, April 14, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. Christ’s Church at Mountain Fork with Brother Brad Spellman officiating. Interment follows in Mountain Fork Cemetery under the direction of the Beasley-Wood Funeral Home. Visitation will be Saturday afternoon beginning at noon at the church prior to service.
