Mrs. Letha Anderson, age 66, of Zafra, Oklahoma, passed away Sunday, April 29, 2012 at her home.
She was born June 25, 1945 in California to the late Bill William Ansley and to the late Oma Martin Ansley. She was united in marriage to Allon Anderson. She was of the Baptist faith and was a loving homemaker, wife, mother, step-mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.
She is survived by:
Husband: Allon Anderson of Zafra, Oklahoma Son: Steve Masters and wife Laura of Granbury, Texas
Brother: Bill Ansley and wife Diana of Tulsa, Oklahoma Sister: Sharon Snow and husband Jerry of Hatfield, Arkansas
Step-Sons: Benny Anderson of Mena, Arkansas Dale Anderson of Mena, Arkansas
5 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and a host friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill Ansley and mother Oma Ansley Shinn, and by a brother, James Ansley.
Graveside services will be Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at Nichols Cemetery in West Valley with Brother Todd Webb officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of the Beasley-Wood Funeral Home. Visitation will be general.
Kathryn Roberts

Kathryn Roberts, age 80, of Mena, Arkansas, passed away Tuesday, May 1, 2012 at her home.
She was born November 12, 1931 in Mena, Arkansas to the late Virgil Bradley and the late Lillian Harris Bradley. She was united in marriage to Earnest Roberts on July 25, 1950. She was a homemaker and was a member of the Yocanna Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend and will be missed greatly.

11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren
She was preceded in death by her parents, Virgil and Lillian Bradley, 2 brothers, Kenneth and Doyle Bradley, and 2 sisters, Cybil Bradley and Mildred Posey.
Funeral services will be Friday, May 4, 2012 at 2:30 p.m. at the Beasley-Wood Chapel with Brother Lynn Chiles officiating. Interment will follow at Gann Cemetery under the direction of the Beasley-Wood Funeral Home. Visitation will be Thursday evening, May 3rd from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Yocanna Baptist Church Building Fund or to Ouachita Regional Hospice.
Pallbearers will be Jeremy McMellon, Brandon McMellon, Adam McMellon, Josh Roberts, Nate Looney, Marty Thompson, and Neal Moran. Honorary pallbearers will be her granddaughters.
Jackie Whitehead Pitts
(July 10, 1929 - April 30, 2012)
Jackie Whitehead Pitts, age 82, of Mena, Arkansas, passed away Monday, April 30, 2012 in Mena.
She was born July 10, 1929 in Highland, Arkansas to the late Jack Martin and the late Clemmie Barber Martin. She was united in marriage to the late Roy Whitehead until his passing and then to the late Thurman Pitts. She was a waitress for many years and enjoyed quilting and crafting, anything that she could do with her hands! Her favorite pastime, though, was spending time with her family, who will miss her as their sister, special aunt and friend. She was of the dedicated Baptist faith.

Sisters: Juanita Wiles and husband James A. of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma Johnnie Faye Kinkade and husband Jack of Mena, Arkansas Carolyn Pearce and husband Emmett of Mena, Arkansas
Brother: Billy Ray Martin and wife Audrey of Cumming, Georgia.
Special Niece: June Cogburn of Mena, Arkansas
Numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Clemmie Martin, her husbands, Roy Whitehead and Thurman Pitts, an infant daughter, Kay Whitehead, a son, Kenneth Lee Whitehead, 2 brothers, William and Eddie Martin, and 4 sisters, Katherine Hackney, Mamie Hill, Luna Hoover, and Ada Willard.
Graveside services will be Thursday, May 3, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Cherry Hill Cemetery with Reverend Jerry Hill officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of the Beasley-Wood Funeral Home. Visitation will be general.
Margaret Grace "Peggy" Grossman

Margaret Grace “Peggy” Grossman, age 97, of Mena, Arkansas, passed away Thursday, May 3, 2012 in Mena.
She was born December 9, 1914 in Ladysmith, Wisconsin to the late Frank Colburn and the late Grace Stowe Colburn, and came from a family of 13 brothers and sisters. She was united in marriage to Paul Grossman, Sr., and was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, and friend.
She is survived by:
Sons: Richard Grossman of Delavan, Wisconsin Robert Grossman, Sr. of Mena, Arkansas
Daughters: Peggy Pestor of Franklin, Wisconsin Nancy Miller of Mena, Arkansas Doris Behrs of Muskego, Wisconsin
23 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Grace Colburn, her husband, Paul Grossman, Sr., a son, Paul Grossman, Jr., 2 granddaughters, Charlotte Grossman and Angela Linde, a great-grandson, Timothy Grossman, a great-granddaughter, Nicole Grossman, and her special dog and best friend, Prince.
Graveside services will be Monday, May 7, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Rocky Cemetery with Brother Gary Garrett officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of the Beasley-Wood Funeral Home. Visitation will be general.
Bonnie Elene Standridge

Bonnie Elene Standridge, age 73, of Mena, Arkansas passed away Saturday, March 24, 2012 in Mena.
She was born September 06, 1938 in Fort Collins, Colorado to the late Calvin Humrich and the late Cora Haney Humrich. Bonnie was married to the late Jack Ovin Standridge. She loved making jewelry, knitting, fishing, and spending time with family and friends. She enjoyed a home-grown tomato sandwich. Bonnie loved her family very much. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend to all who knew her and loved her. She will be missed dearly.

Funeral services will be Thursday, March 29, 2012, 2:00 p.m. at the Beasley-Wood Chapel with Brother James Cogburn officiating. Interment will follow in the Pinecrest Memorial Park in Mena under the direction of the Beasley-Wood Funeral Home of Mena.
Pallbearers are Patrick Burns, Alex Burns, Larry Burns, Jared Standridge, Ricky Holliday and Travis Hendrix.
