David Fitzgerald
David Fitzgerald, 60, of Charleston,, died on Sunday, July 27, 2003 in a Fort Smith hospital. He was born July 16, 1943 in Charleston to Earl Dean and Quita Bell Grubb Fitzgerald. He served in the National Guard and was a member of the Charleston Church of Christ.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, July 29, 2003 at Smith Mortuary Chapel with Mr. Travis Huffman and Mr. Roy Enoch officiating. Burial followed at the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Charleston.
He is survived by his wife, Becky of the home; one daughter and son-in-law, Lisa Walthall and husband, Larry, of Charleston; one sister-in-law, Martha DeLoach and husband, Claude, of Springdale; three grandsons, Christopher and Brandon Walthall both of Charleston and Larry Walthall Jr. of Lakeland, FL.; and two granddaughters, Robin Carter of Orlando, FL. and Renee Wyatt of Wachula, FL.
Pallbearers were Charles Durham, Greg Wilson, Les Phillips, Ronnie Roper, Ron Lee and Charles Potts.
May Kennedy
May Kennedy, 74, of Charleston died on Saturday, March 29, 2003 in her home. She was a retired computer programmer for the Van Buren Water Dept and was of the Methodist faith. She was the widow of Al Kennedy. She was born August 26, 1928 in Detroit, Michigan to Michael Schmader and Joy Schmader.
Graveside services were held at 10 a.m. on Monday, March 31, 2003 at Morris Cemetery in Bloomer with Rev. Bill Van Meter officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Smith Mortuary, Inc. of Charleston.
She was survived by one daughter, Linda Davis of Charleston; one sister, Grace Fields of Portland, Oregon; two grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
Billy Crabtree
Billy Howard Crabtree, 72, of Ozark, died Sunday, March 2, 2003, at a Fort Smith hospital. He was born Dec. 10, 1930, in Coal Hill. He was a retried master sergeant in the Air Force and attended Ozark First Assembly of God. He was the widower of Margaret Crabtree.
He is survived by three daughters, Rita Perry of Van Buren, Regina McElhaney of Ozark and Rowena Anderson of Clearwater, Fla.; two sisters, Hortense Peterson of Fresno, Calif., and Francis Ellis of Tulsa; six brothers, Robert, Lloyd, Charles, Ronnie, Jerry and Darrell Crabtree, all of Porterville, Calif.; and six grandchildren.
Funeral service was held March 5 at Shaffer Funeral Home Chapel in Ozark with burial at Highland Cemetery in Ozark.
Pallbearers were James and Lonnie Perry, Nathan McElhaney, Lloyd Rausher, Randy Bowman, Dan Anderson, Jimmy Pledger and Paul Turner.
Imogene Bowley
Imogene Bowley, 82, of Charleston, died on Tuesday, January 28, 2003 in a Fort Smith hospital. She was a housewife and a faithful member of the Northside Baptist Church in Charleston. She was born on October 3, 1920 in Charleston to William L. and Arie Colquitt Moon.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. on Friday, January 31, 2003 at Smith Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Elton Pennington and Greg Robinson officiating. Burial followed at the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Charleston.
She is survived by her husband, David Bowley of the home; one God Son, Greg Robinson of Broken Arrow, OK.; one sister-in-law, Alice Wainwright of Charleston; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Jody Haney, Corbett Means, Jason Brunnins, Brandon Rozell, Rodney Hewitt, Chaz Robinson, and Danny and Tim Beason.
Nicholas Green
Nicholas Ryan Green, infant son of Miranda Green and Elias Olmos of Charleston, died on Wednesday, January 29, 2003 in Little Rock.
Graveside services were held at 10 a.m. on Monday, February 3, 2003 at Pariss Cemetery in Charleston under the direction of Smith Mortuary.
Other than his parents, he is survived by his maternal grandparents, Richard and Evelyn Martin of Charleston and Alan and Edwina Green of Branch; and paternal grandparents, Rick and Teresa Green of Branch.
Rev. O.D. Peters
The Reverend Orr Davis "O.D." Peters, age 91, of Little Rock, passed away Wednesday, January 15, 2003. He was born July 19, 1911 in the Springhill Community of Johnson County, Arkansas. He was a graduate of the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville with a degree in English before graduating with honors from Perkins School of Theology at Southern Methodist University in Dallas.
Rev. Peters served in an active capacity as an ordained minister in the United Methodist Church for 65 years. He served churches in Clarksville, Farmington, Hackett, Alma, Greenwood, Springhill (Texas), Charleston, Augusta, Dardanelle, Piggott, Pea Ridge, and Little Rock; serving at Capitol View United Methodist Church, and as associate minister at Pulaski Heights United Methodist Church from 1965 until his retirement in 1995 and then as pastor emeritus until his death. He was also a former Chairman of the Board of Pensions of the North Arkansas Conference, former Chairman of the Television, Radio and Films Commission, and former member of the Board of Ministry of Little Rock Conference.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Inez Cline Peters, and his daughter, Margaret Peters Wilson. He is survived by one son, George Peters and wife, Diane, one grandson, George Peters Jr., and wife Maria Elena and one great grandson, George Edwards Angel Peters, all of Little Rock.

Betty Bowles
Betty Jean Bowles, 66, of Ozark, died Sunday, Dec. 30, 2002, at a local nursing home. She was a member of Jethro Pentecostal Church.
Survivors include her sister, Rachel Cooke of Ozark; three brothers, Joe Bowles, Harlan Bowles and Robert Bowles, all of Ozark; one aunt, Helen Rucker of Ozark and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service was held Jan. 2 at Jethro Pentecostal Church. Burial was held at Oak Ridge Cemetery under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Alma.
Pallbearers were James Bowles, Joey Bowles, Robert Cooke, Herman Murphy, Charles Murphy and Jerry House.
