Grace Morgan
Grace Thelena Morgan, 90, of Natural Dam, died Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2002. She was a homemaker, a member of Mansfield Church of Christ and was formerly of Mansfield. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elzie.
Survivors include two daughters, Elwanda Loggins of Natural Dam and Janice Delp of Mansfield; two sons, Jerry Don Morgan of Greenwood and Autry Lee Morgan of Mansfield; one sister, Vera Elmore of Brentwood, Calif.; 14 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
Funeral service was held Feb. 22 at Martin Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was held at Clark’s Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Martin Funeral Home of Mansfield.
Pallbearers were Dewayne Morgan, David Morgan, Roger Morgan, Wesley Morgan, Gary Morgan, Jimmy Morgan, Reece Morgan, Mark Efurd and Andy Sanders.
Lonnie Hunter
Lonnie Floyd Hunter, 81, of Alma, died Saturday, January 22, 2005 at a local hospital. He was a retired furnace tender for Harding Glass Company in Fort Smith. He attended Full Gospel church in Mulberry, AR and was a member of the Van Buren Masonic Lodge for 50 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Plummer and Bessie Hunter; two brothers, Harvey and Earl Hunter; and a stepson Billy Hunter.
Funeral service will be 2:00 Wednesday, January 26, 2005 at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home Chapel with burial at Gracelawn Cemetery with Masonic Graveside Rites.
He is survived by his wife, Dewilla of the home; two daughters, Joette Evans of Van Buren, AR and Brenda Crowell of Mountainburg, AR; a son, David Hunter of Alma, AR; one God child, Casey Lynn Pierce of Van Buren, AR; three sisters, Mildred Lampe of Fort Smith, AR, Sue Tuck of Van Buren, AR, and Alivern McDonald of Van Buren, AR; two brothers, Leonard Hunter of Muldrow, OK and Alvin Hunter of Fort Smith, eight grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Freddy, John Cecil and Charles O'Kelley, Lanny, Dennis, and Ricky Hunter.
Melinda Jenkins
Melinda Kay Jenkins, 53, of Chester, died Sunday, June 30, 2002. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, Kenneth; a son, Aden Jenkins of the home; and a sister, Patricia Barker of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio.
Funeral and burial will be private and under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren.
Joette Heister
Joette Heister, 61, of Alma, died Sunday, January 23, 2005 in a local hospital. She was a retired salesperson at Spear Hardware and a member of New Vision Worship Center in Van Buren.
She is survived by her husband, Hubert Heister of the home; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Bradley and Tammie Heister of Dyer, Scott Heister of the home; four sisters, Lorena Wells of Van Buren, Pauline Anderson of Van Buren, Betty Reeves of Van Buren, Sharon Scamardo of Fort Smith; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews; nine grandchildren.
Funeral will be 10:00 Friday, January 25, 2005 at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home Chapel with burial at Gill cemetery also in Van Buren.
Pallbearers are Brian McClellend, Gerald Henson, Justin Hooten, Kevin Haney, Shannon Morse, Shane Reeves, and Darrel Wells.
The family will meet with friends from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home.
Billy Stephens
Billy Mike Stephens, 45, of Alma, died Thursday, Dec. 12, 2002, at a local hospital. He was a machinist for 27 years at Georgia Pacific in Fort Smith, a member of Alma Church of Christ, coached little league baseball and served in the Marine Corps.
He is survived by his wife, Janet; a daughter, Jamie Battles of Alma; a son, Jeremy Johnson of Fayetteville; his parents, Ann and Bob Douglas of Alma; paternal grandparents, Mary Stephens of Van Buren; and two grandchildren.
Funeral service was held Dec. 16 at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home Chapel in Van Buren with burial at Evergreen Cemetery in Alma.
Pallbearers were Hank Watlington, Clifton Battles, Billy Medlock, Nick Shaffer, Rick Clark and Gerald Salsbury.

Foster Killough
Foster Douglas Killough, 62, of Van Buren, died Friday, Dec. 13, 2002, in Van Buren. He was a retired toole and die engineer at Whirlpool in Fort Smith, member of Whirlpool Management Club, avid golfer and attended Evangel Temple in Fort Smith.
Survivors include his wife, Pam; one daughter, Meredith Knauls of Fort Smith; three sons, Nathan Killough and Lance Killough, both of Van Buren, and Arron Killough of the home; five sisters, Bobbie Sherrill and Lura Harmon, both of Lamar, Oleta Sproul of Little Rock, Susie Duncan of Wichita, Kan., and Jesse Rye of Las Vegas; one brother, John Wayne Killough of Mountain Grove; and five grandchildren, Chad Killough of Alma and Nicholas, Avigail, Dylan and Kassidy Killough, all of Van Buren.
Funeral service was held Dec. 17 at Edwards Van-Alma Chapel. Burial was at Gracelawn Cemetery under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Devin Cochran, Gary Sebo, Tom Kauferberg, Bob Beyerle, Jerl Vaughn, Ben Pearson and Ray Johnson.
Charles Copeland
Charles H. Copeland, 78, of Van Buren, died Monday, Dec. 16, 2002, in Van Buren. He was a retired vice president and general manager at U.S. Forgecraft of Fort Smith, a World War II Army veteran and a member of Heritage Oaks Freewill Baptist Church in Barling.
He is survived by his wife, Betty; four daughters, Mary Lee Ringlen of Ponapei, Micronesia, Brenda Faye Gossett of McCrory, Gayle McNutt of Van Buren and Karen Salisbury of Barling; two sons, Ray Copeland of Fort Smith and the Rev. David Copeland of Searcy; 15 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Funeral service was held Dec. 18 at Heritage Oaks Free Will Baptist Church in Barling with burial at Gill Cemetery in Van Buren under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren.
Pallbearers were Scottie and Robert Salisbury, Steve Chronister, Richard Gordon, Darrell Smith and Tom Morgan.
