Lucy McDade
Funeral services for Lucy Hull McDade were held Saturday, July 17, at
Mt. Shelby in Marvell. Burial was at Mt. Shelby Cemetery in Marvell.
Pallbearers were deacons of the church. Rev, Nathaniel Hull officiated.
She was a native of Yazoo City, Mississippi. She died in Chicago. She
was a member of of the Beautiful Zion M.B. Church in Chicago, where she
sang in the choir and was later appointed to the Mothers Board.
She was a widow.
She is survived by four sons, seven daughters, two sisters, Frankie
Kendricks and Mattie Tribble, both of Rondo; 25 grandchildren, 30
great-grandchildren, and eight great-great-grandchildren.
Arrangements were handled by Hightower and Sons Funeral Home.
George Lee
George Lee died Wednesday, July 14, in his home.
He was a graduated of the Forrest City High School and was a certified
Electrician from the Phillips County Community College.
He is survived by two sons, Travis Lee and George Lee, both of Forrest
City; one daughter, Audrey Lee of Marianna; four brothers, Elder Dr.
Fred Lee of Forrest City, Ronald Lee of New York, Payton Lee of St.
Louis and David of Chicago, IL; five sisters, Della Lee King, Edith Lee
Mack and Jeanette Lee, all of Memphis, Freda Lee Brown and Sharon
McKissick James, both of St. Louis.
Funeral services were held Saturday, July 17, at 1 p.m. at The
Williamland Church of God in Christ in Wynne..
Ophelia Williams
Funeral Services for Ophelia Williams, 57, of Kansas City, Missouri,
were held Monday, July 19 at the Goodwin Church of God in Christ in
Goodwin, Arkansas. Elder A.D. Smith officiated. Burial was in Goodwin
Memorial Cemetery. Pallbearers were Steve Hicks, Roger Hicks,
Corinthians Hicks, McAuther Hicks, Ray McKissick and Ernest Hicks.
She died July 14 in Kansas City.
She was a native of Fargo.
She is survived by three sons, Larry Williams of Forrest City, Micheal
Williams and Johnny Williams, both of Oklahoma; a sister, Marie
Applewhite of Garland, Texas; four brothers, Ernest Hicks, McAuther
Hicks, both of Goodwin, Albert Hicks of Kansas City and Ray McKissick of
Forrest City.
Willie Collins
Willie Collens, 89, Friday, June 18, in his home.
He was a resident of Helena.
He is survived by a son, Willie Germany of West Helena and two
grandchildren.
Graveside services were held Tuesday, June 22, at 3 p.m. at Pilgrim
Cemetery.
Arrangements were handled by Hightower and Sons Funeral Home.
Willie Livingston
Willie Cephas Livingston, 58, died Wednesday, June 23, in his home.
He was a resident of Lee County and a member of Trinity M.B. Church.
He is survived by his mother, Letie Livingston; two brothers, Tommy
Brown and Vernell Livingston; seven sisters, Izola Arnold, Mattie
Jackson, Dorothy Carter, Barbara Gates, Boyce Livingston, Sarah Jones
and Edna Hargraves, all of Marianna; and nine God-children, 21 grand and
great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 29, at 1:30 p.m. at Trinity
M.B. Church in Marianna with Rev. James Baker officiating. Burial
followed at Old Zion Cemetery on Key Corner Rd.
Pallbearers were Rodney Bryson, Cameron Bryson, Kevin Garrett, Lonnie
James, Rodell Livingston, Sandy Livingston, Colby Hargraves and Randy
Jackson, Jr.
Honorary pallbearers were Ulyssess Hargraves, Sr., William Hill, Truman
Carter, Ronnie Jones and Stanley Willis.

Larry Savage
Larry Ray Savage, 41, died Wednesday, June 16, in his home.
He was a resident of Rondo and a member of St. Mark Baptist Church. He
also was in the United States Army for 20 years.
He is survived by three daughters, Takeisha Sheloreal Smith of Cedar
Hill, TX, Brittnee Deche and Daisha Monae Savage of Yorktown, Virginia;
one son, Kyuntae Cornell Rhodes of Lewisville, Texas; his mother, Willie
V. Savage Coleman and stepfather, Nathan Coleman of Rondo; five
brothers, Will Ester Savage, Sr. of Rondo, Dave Savage of Chicago, IL,
Earl L. Savage of Orlando, Edgar Savage, Jr. of Memphis and Raymond
Savage of Danville, IL; and six sisters, Mary Robinson of St. Louis,
Betty Ford of Little Rock, Lydia Douglas and Alberta Hardy, both of St.
Louis, Shirley Floyd of Chicago and Joyce Gaston of Orlando.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, June 23, at 10 a.m. at Hempshire
M.B. Church in Aubrey with Rev. Lathen E. Ester officiating. Burial
followed at Arkansas State National Cemetery in Little Rock.
Pallbearers were the United States Military.
Honorary pallbearers were Darryl Dandridge, Wardell Robins, Jr.,
Augustus Swain and Caleb Meadough.

Lenora Williams
Lenora Jean Coleman Williams, 72, died Sunday, June 20.
She was a resident of Chicago.
She is survived by her husband, Gerald Williams; her mother, Janie
Coleman; two brothers, James Coleman, Jr. of Chicago, and Lamar Coleman
of Marianna; four sons, Gerald, Jr., Charles, Danny and Ederick Coleman,
all of Chicago; and a host of grand and great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday, June 26, at 12 noon, at Pilgrim
M.B. Church in Marianna with Rev. Andrew Williams officiating. Burial
followed at Pilgrim Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Arthur Sanders, Kyuntae Sanders, Donald Williams, James
Cheers, Lamontrell Jones, Antrvon Williams and Douglas Williams.
Honorary pallbearers were Ollie Brantley, Matthew Farris, Fred Heggs,
Charles Mobley, Melvin Campbell, Connor Grady and Edmond Lee.

Sonia Van Meter
Sonia A.S. Van Meter, 49, of Marietta, Ga., formerly of Marvell, where
she was an employee of Marvell LP Gas Co., died Wednesday, December 30,
in Marietta.
She is survived by her husband of 25 years, Ike M. Van Meter, the son of
Mrs. Margaret Triplett of Marianna; two daughters, Sonia Nicole Van
Meter and Jacqueline Danielle Van Meter, both of Marietta; her mother,
Sonia Smith of Cumming, Ga.; a sister, Laura Sanabria of Madrid, Spain;
and a brother, Dr. Robert Smith of Roswell, Ga.
Graveside services were held Monday, January 4, in Green Lawn Cemetery
in Roswell at 1 p.m.
Arrangements were handled by SouthCare Memorial Chapel Funeral Home in
Smyrna, Ga.
Betty Griffith
Betty Stiles Griffith, 88, died Friday, January 1, at Helena Regional
Medical Center.
She was a farmer and a member of the Methodist Church in Marianna.
She is survived by two sons, William R. Griffith of Rondo and Robert G.
Griffith of Amory, MS; three sisters, Margurite Taylor of Vineyard, Ann
Scott of Conway and Rubye Robards of Fayetteville; four grandchildren
and six great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Griffith.
Funeral services were held Monday, January 4, at 10 a.m. at
Roller-Citizens Chapel in Marianna with Rev. Austin Hamilton
officiating. Burial followed at Marianna Memorial Park.
Visitation was held at Roller-Citizens on Sunday, January 3, from 5-8
p.m.
Pallbearers were Ricky Griffith, Mark Griffith, David Griffith, Eric
Griffith, Colby McChesney and John Griffith.
Arrangements were handled by Roller-Citizens Funeral Home.
