Anthony Weeden
Anthony Weeden, 16, of Alma, died Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2002, at a local hospital. He was a student at Alma High School, he participated in the Special Olympics and the M.D.A. Camp in Little Rock.
He is survived by his parents, Vanesia and Sam Weeden of Alma; his paternal grandparents, Beth and Al Weeden of Alma; maternal grandmother, Katy Gallaway of Austin, Texas; and a number of aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral service was held Oct. 19 at Faith Christian Center in Alma with burial at Newberry Cemetery in Alma under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren.

Josh Jennen
Josh Jennen, infant son of Dava and Richard Jennen of Van Buren, died Monday, Oct. 14, 2002, at a local hospital.
Other survivors include a sister, Halie Jennen of the home; grandparents, Linda and Chuck Jennen and Margie and James Garner, all of Van Buren; and great-grandmothers, LaFern Roller, Mrs. V. Waid and Mrs. Gadd.
The body was cremated under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home.
Ruth Kelly
Ruth Kelly, 78, of Alma, died Thursday, Oct. 17, 2002, at a local hospital. She attended the Full Gospel Church in Moffett and was a homemaker.
Survivors include two sons, Dwain Kelly of Mountainburg and James Kelly of Muldrow; three sisters, Ruby McCain of Mulberry Sue of Oklahoma City and Margaret of Ellenwood, Kan.; three grandchildren, Mark Kelly of Van Buren, Lacy Osman of Rudy and Jamie Shelly; and two great-grandchildren, Alexandria and Kaleb Osman of Ruby.
Funeral service was held Oct. 22 at Ocker Funeral Home Chapel in Alma. Burial was at New Cemetery in Mulberry.
Pallbearers were Dennis Osman, Mark Kelly, Frank Kelly, Eddie Watson, John Ralph Kelly and Jamie Shelly.
Irma C. Bass
Irma C. Bass, 95, of Van Buren, died Friday, Oct. 18, 2002, at a local nursing home. She was a member of Wood Memorial Christian Church, lifetime member of the Order of Eastern Star of Ozark, former Franklin County clerk and retired assistant psychologist for the Arkansas State Hospital. She was the widow of Arley Bass.
Survivors include one daughter, Arlene Thompson of Poteau; one son, Ronald Bass of Fort Smith; one sister, Allyne Rownak of Van Buren; four grandchildren, Cody Dickerson, Kramer Bass, Charles Bass and Blake Bass; and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral service was held Oct. 21 at Ocker Memorial Chapel in Van Buren. Burial was at Highland Cemetery in Ozark.

Cora Osburn
Cora B. Osburn, 96, of Alma, died Friday, Nov. 1, 2002, at a local hospital. She was a member of Gregory Chapel Church of Christ and was the widow of Jess Osburn.
She is survived by a daughter, Cleo SoRelle of Round Top, Texas; a son, Lloyd Osburn of Alma; four grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral service was held Nov. 6 at Gregory Chapel Church of Christ with burial at Cain Cemetery in Mountainburg under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Alma.
Pallbearers were Eric O’Kelley, Craig Osburn, Thomas Bland, Dennis Anglen and Kevin and Ronnie Herzog. Honorary pallbearers were Jack and Dow Anglen and Odell and Doyle Osburn.
Helen Day
Helen Irene Day, 85, of Van Buren, died Thursday, Oct. 17, 2002, at a local nursing home. She was a homemaker and of the Freewill Baptist faith. She was the widow of the Rev. Willard C. Day.
She is survived by a daughter, Shirley Waldo of Van Buren; a sister, Blanche Chambers of Van Buren; three grandchildren, Teresa Montgomery and Debbie Peters, both of Van Buren, and Kevin Waldo of Indianapolis, Ind.; and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral service was held Oct. 19 at Ocker Funeral Home Memorial Chapel in Van Buren with burial at Gracelawn Cemetery in Van Buren.
Pallbearers were Quince O’Kelley, Glen Rainwater, Jerry Fears, Truman Fowler, Ron Hebensperger and Fay Sirmon.

Mary Teague
Mary Frances Lessley Teague, 83, of Alma, died Thursday, Aug. 15, 2002, in a local hospital. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Alma, where she was organist for more than 35 years, a member of the Razorback Foundation, an avid Razorbacks fan, member of the Arkansas state Horticultural Society, part owner of Alma Farm Supply, a lifelong resident of Crawford County, a graduate of Mulberry High School, a former teacher in Kibler and Alma and a former piano teacher. She was the widow of Farris Coleman and Carl Deck Teague. She attended the University of the Ozarks, Arkansas Tech University and the University of Arkansas.
Survivors include two nieces, Zoe Barron of Wilmette, Ill., and Jan Teague Peck of Baton Rouge, La.; two nephews, Paul Teague of Jonesboro and Keith Teague of Stillwater, Ark.; numerous cousins including, Eddie Rue Byars of Alma, Clella Bea Oliver of Mulberry, Harold E. Lessley of Sherwood and Kathryn Polson of Connecticut and Gelene Price of California; caregiver, Flo Carmell; and a host of friends.
Funeral service was held Aug. 19 at Ocker Funeral Home Chapel in Alma. Burial was at Alma City Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Paul and Keith Teague, Boyce and Tom Wofford, David Woolly and Joe Lee Lewers.
Honorary pallbearers were David, John and Mark Partlow, Dr. Larry Price, Randy DeLaet, Randy Bradley, Dr. Mike Westbrook, Wolf Grulkey, Rick Carson and Vilus Peevy.

Mary DeWater
Mary Darlene DeWater, 60, of Van Buren, died Friday, Aug. 16, 2002, at a local hospital. She was a homemaker and the widow of David De Water.
Survivors include three daughters, Donna Anderson of Fort Smith, Vicki DeWater of Van Buren and Stacy Michalski of Kalkaska, Mich.; three sons, David DeWater of Gaylord, Mich., Ronnie DeWater of Alma, Larry DeWater of Arkansas; his step-father, Llewelyn “Chris” Christopher of Downey, Calif.; a half sister, Linda Christopher of Los Angeles; three half brothers, Jerry Christopher of North Carolina, Johnny Christopher of Emporia, Kan., and Richard Christopher of Downey; and 14 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral service was held Aug. 19 in Ocker Memorial Chapel in Van Buren. Burial was held at Cain Cemetery in Mountainburg.
Pallbearers were Jason Dodson, Larry Dodson, Mark Dodson, DeWayne Daily, Bobby Gregory, J.R. McNew and Kenny White.
