James Wiggins, Jr.

James Wesley Wiggins, Jr., 78, died Wednesday, December 23, in his home.

He was a resident of Lee County and a member of Mt. Moriah M.B. Church.

He is survived by his wife, Edna Wiggins; three sons, Lee Andrew Wiggins

of Parkin, James W. Wiggins, III of Phoenix and Charles Huron of Forrest

City; six daughters, Maxine Robinson of Marianna, Diane Campbell of

Gill, Lee Esther Lee of Little Rock, Mary Catherine Anderson of North

Little Rock, Betty Jean Sharks of Phoenix and Ruby Mae Greening of

Jacksonville; two brothers, Steve Wiggins and Sylvester Wiggins, both of

Gill; one sister, Rosetta Wiggins of Gill; 23 grandchildren and 7 great

grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, December 30 at 11 a.m. at Mt.

Moriah M.B. Church with Rev. Johnny Lockhart officiating. Burial

followed at Mt. Moriah Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Marlon Wiggins, E. Lamar Lee, Randy Lee, Walter

Whitley, Michael Whitley and Jamaal Broadway.

Honorary pallbearers were Rev. Lee A. Wiggins, Charles Huron Wiggins,

Rev. Danny Robinson, Erron Lee, Melvin Campbell and James Wiggins III.

Arrangements were handled by Marianna Funeral Home.

Pairlee Westbrook

Pairlee Westbrook, 87, died Thursday, December 24, at Crestpark

Retirement Home.

She was a resident of Lee County and a member of Friendship M.B. Church

in Rondo.

She is survived by four daughters, Hattie Cunningham of Middletown, OH,

Tecolia Mitchell, Ethel Cross and Pauline Wade, all of St. Louis; one

son, Walter Westbrook, also of St. Louis; two sisters, Theora Hensley of

Benton Harbor, MI and Lucenda Brandon of Chicago; 22 grandchildren, 66

great-grandchildren and a host of great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two daughters, Mary and Frances; and two

sons, Sherman and Frank.

Funeral services were held Saturday, January 2, at 2 p.m. at Friendship

M.B. Church with Rev. Earl Johnson officiating. Burial followed at

Friendship Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Joe Dean Woodson, Ronnie Westbrook, Donald Johnson,

Ronald Scott, Steve Woodson and Stacey Oliver.

Honorary pallbearers were deacons of Friendship Baptist Church.

Arrangements were handled by Marianna Funeral Home.

Deangelo Gay

Deangelo Antwon Gay, 16, died Thursday, December 24.

He was a resident of St. Francis County and a member of Salem M.B.

Church.

He is survived by his mother, Brenda Gay of Forrest City; his father,

Shelton Cottrell of Little Rock; three brothers, Dale Walker of Forrest

City, Gary Barton and Justin Cottrell, both of Little Rock; four

sisters, Baranda Gay of Forrest City, Jerreca Barton, Precious Wallace

and Haley Morrison, all of Little Rock, and his grandmother, Ms. Leola

Gay of Blytheville.

Funeral services were held Thursday, December 31, at 11 a.m. at Salem

M.B. Church in Forrest City with Rev. Felix B. Duckworth officiating.

Burial followed at Casteel Cemetery.

Pallbearers were James Brown, Rashard Cunningham, William White, Jason

Austin, David Terry and Yusuf Lambert.

Honorary pallbearers were Durayl Rooks, Hazzim Lambert, Lemont Jenkins,

Ishmel Lambert, Andrew Mapson and Dedrick Murphy.

Arrangements were handled by Marianna Funeral Home.

Elihue Dodd

Elihue Dodd, 73, died Thursday, December 24, at Helena Regional Medical

Center.

He was a resident of Lee County and a member of Friendship M.B. Church.

He also was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

He is survived by his wife, Rosie Lee Dodd; two daughters, Dorisey Brown

of West Helena and Jareldine Mays of Lincoln, Nebraska; four sisters,

Ophelia Williams of Helena, Mosella Lipsey of Marianna, Molene Cox of

Chicago and Mildred Bonds, also of Chicago and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Jasper Hale and Nadene Larry,

and one brother, Nathaniel Dodd.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, December 29, at 12 noon, at

Friendship M.B. Church in Rondo with Rev. Earl Johnson officiating.

Burial followed at Friendship Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Harvey Williams, Ronald Scott, Richard White, Walter

Watson, Timmy White and I.C. Gordan.

Honorary pallbearers were Deacons of Friendship Church.

Arrangements were handled by Marianna Funeral Home.

Walter L. Wilson

Walter L. Wilson, 92, died Friday, December 31, at Helena Regional

Medical Center.

He was a resident of Lee County and a retired principal of 45 years. He

also was a member of Hampshire M.B. Church.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Elizabeth (Simmons) Wilson; two

daughters, Mary Kate Lee of St. Cerrito, CA and Verna Sanders of Phoenix

and one brother, Lester Brookshire of Mississippi.

Funeral services will be held today, Thursday, January 7 at 11 a.m. at

Hampshire M.B. Church in Aubrey with Rev. Lathan Ester officiating.

Burial will follow at Paradise Gardens in Edmondson.

Pallbearers will be Rev. Cecil Coleman, Rev. Cedric Coleman, Rev. N.

Gillispie, Rev. B. Randle, Rev. Parnell Randle and Willie King.

Honorary pallbearers will be Deacons of Hampshire and Antioch M.B.

Churches.

Arrangements will be handled by Marianna Funeral Home.

Cora E. Mosley

Cora E. Dandredge Mosley, 74, died Wednesday, December 23, at Helena

Regional Medical Center.

She was a resident of Lee County and a homemaker. She was a member of

Mt. Zion M.B. Church where she was a Sunday School teacher. She also was

an Associate Matron of Starlight Chapter #73.

She is survived by her husband, Shafter Mosley; six children, Doris T.

Dandredge and Eva Redmond, both of Chicago, Minister Daryl K. Dandredge

and Betty E. Taylor, both of Little Rock, Al Dandredge, Sr. of Kensett

and Arthella Hicks of Farmers Branch, TX; a daughter, Corinne Cass of

Chicago; 18 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; one brother, Willie

Jakes; and five sisters, Betty Chatman, Elizabeth James, Evangelist S.

Pearl Sanders, Callie B. Adams, all of Chicago and Celestine Jakes of

Los Angeles.

Funeral services were held Saturday, January 2, at 11 a.m. at Second

Baptist M.B. Church in Marianna with Rev. Daryl K. Dandredge

officiating. Burial followed at Mt. Zion M.B. Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Leon D. Dandredge, Andrea Dandredge, Elliot L. Taylor,

Ricky Jones, Leroy Shackleford, Calvin Rachel and Lacy Wells.

Honorary pallbearers were deacons of Mt. Zion M.B. Church.

Arrangements were handled by Marianna Funeral Home.

Mary Lee Allen

Mary Lee Walton Allen, 62, died Thursday, December 31, at Baptist

Memorial Hospital in Forrest City.

She was a life-long resident of Lee County.

She is survived by three daughters, Mary Robinson and Denise Allen, both

of Memphis, and Mary J. Allen of Little Rock; one son, Leon Allen; two

sisters, Arlean Hall and Jereline Carlock, both of Marianna; one

brother, Earnest Walton, also of Marianna and many grand and great-grand

children.

She was preceded in death by two daughters, Mae Francis White and Alice

Redden and three brothers, West Walton, Robert Walton and Alex Walton.

Funeral services will be held at New Bethel M.B. Church in Marianna on

January 9 at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Pilgrim Cemetery.

Arrangements will be handled by Hightower and Sons Funeral Home.

Beatrice Joshua

Beatrice Dees Joshua, 94, died Thursday, December 31, in Los Angeles.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 9, at 12 noon, at St.

John M.B. Church in Brickeys. Burial will follow at SurForney Young

Cemetery.
