Ila Griffin
Ila Pearl Griffin, 89, of Alma, died Saturday, Feb. 23, 2002, at a local hospital. She was a homemaker, member of Trinity Baptist Church in Alma and the Fine Springs Extension Homemakers Club in Alma and had been a dietitian for the Alma School System. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Griffin.
Survivors include a daughter, Wanda Smith of Alma; three grandchildren, Cindy Winborn and Brenda Smith, both of Alma, and Glenda Kimes of Springdale; and eight grandchildren.
Funeral service was held Feb. 26 at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home Chapel in Van Buren. Burial was at Newberry Cemetery in Alma.
Pallbearers were James Winborn, Jay Winborn, Jeff Kimes, Scott Kimes, Derek Kimes, Cory Bray and Aaron Bray. Honorary pallbearers were deacons of Trinity Baptist Church.
Jerry Long
Jerry Donald Long, 67, of Alma, died Sunday, Feb. 24, 2002. He was self-employed and a resident of the Kibler area.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Beth; two stepdaughters, Keturah Wylemski of Sylvania, Ga., and Rachael Leaton of Enid, Okla.; one son, Morris Long of Oklahoma City, Okla.; two sisters, Cheryl Bee of Oklahoma City and Jody Thompson of Fort Worth, Texas; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The body was donated to medical science. Arrangements were under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Van Buren.
Cora Frazier
Cora Bell Frazier, 83, of Van Buren, died Sunday, Feb. 24, 2002, at a local nursing home. She was a homemaker, formerly of Mulberry and of the Pentecostal faith. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Frazier.
Survivors include four daughters, Irene Cowan of Mulberry, Betty Moore and Sylvia Frazier, both of Van Buren, and Louise Richey of Indiana; two stepdaughters, Wanda Murphy of Van Buren and Lois Welch of California; three sons, Raymond Frazier of Alma; Carroll Frazier of Van Buren and Shirl Frazier; two stepsons, Von Frazier of Van Buren and Delmer Frazier of Tulsa; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral service was held Feb. 27 at Ocker Memorial Chapel. Burial was at New Cemetery under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Van Buren.
Pallbearers were her grandsons, Curtis Cowan, Billy Cowan, James Frazier, Oliver Frazier, Troy Frazier and Todd Richey. Honorary pallbearers were Larry Cowan, Roy Moore and Ronnie DeWater.
Ray Fisher
Ray M. Fisher, 77, of Van Buren, died Thursday, Feb. 21, 2002, at a local hospital. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and worked in the maintenance department at Crawford Memorial Hospital. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary.
Survivors include four daughters, Channa Miller, Linda Boydston, Brenda Cooper and Latresa Adams, all of Cedarville; one son, Montie Fisher of Cedarville; 21 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
The body was cremated under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren.
Juanita Tune
Juanita Christene Tune, 76, of Chester, died Friday, Dec. 6, 2002, at a local hospital. She was a caretaker at Miller’s Greenhouse, member of Chester Freewill Baptist Church and the Order of Eastern Star and the former mayor and a council member of Chester.
Survivors include her husband, Argus O. Tone; three daughters, Lola Tune of Fort Smith, Vivian Juanita Abel of Alma and Melody Jane Castillo of Mulberry; two sons, Billy Easley of Stigler and Larry Perryman of Alma; three sisters, Martha Elizabeth Price of Rudy, Mary Sue Osborne of Albuquerque, N.M., and Alma Waters of Rudy; two brother, James E. Jones of Seligman, Mo., and Joe Carl Jones of Pocola; 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Funeral service was held Dec. 11 at Freewill Baptist Church in Chester. Burial was at Mount McCurry Cemetery in Rudy under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma funeral Home.
Pallbearers were James E., Joe, Bobby and James L. Jones, Dennis Easley and Renda Tedford. Honorary pallbearers will be her grandsons.

Bill Pfaff
Bill Pfaff, 81, of Chester, died Monday, January 3, 2005 in Chester. He was a retired tool and die machinist for General Motors, a member of the Local #110 Die Makers Union in Detroit, Michigan and was also a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth of the home; one daughter, Linda Skinner of Louisville, Kentucky; four sons, William Pfaff, Jr. of Lansing, Mich., Robert and Edgar Pfaff both of Fort Smith, James Pfaff of Erie, PA; ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Memorial service will be 10:00 A.M. Saturday, January 8, 2005 at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home Chapel in Van Buren. Mr. Pfaff will be cremated and there will be no public viewing.
Patsy Warnock
Patsy Warnock, 72, of Alma, died Monday, Feb. 18, 2002. She was a homemaker and a Baptist. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert.
Survivors include four daughters, Sue Smith of Dyer, Linda Adams and Tammy Sammons, both of Alma, and Rhonda Johnson of Van Buren; six sons, Ronald Warnock of Paris, Rickey Warnock and Ronnie Warnock, both of Alma, Larry Warnock of Fort Worth, Texas, and Johnny Warnock of Muldrow; her mother, Rose Wallace of Alma; one sister, Garnett Chapman of Alma; three brothers, Ed Evans of Clarksville, Bill Evans of Little Rock and Jim Evans of Van Buren; 21 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Graveside service was held Feb. 19 at Pope Cemetery under the direction of Fentress Mortuary.
Pallbearers were Odean Belt, Jack Hattabaugh, James Morse, James Gillis, Guy Adams and Dale Johnson.
Honorary pallbearers were her grandsons.
Dude Rogers
Dude Rogers, 84, of Van Buren, died Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2002, at a local nursing home. He was a retired carpenter and painter and of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his wife, Edith; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside service was held Feb. 22 at Gracelawn Cemetery under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Alma.
Henry Harp
Henry C. Harp, 88, of Van Buren, died Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2003, at a local nursing home. He was born March 19, 1914, in Natural Dam. He was a factory worker and a reverend in the Full Gospel Pentecostal Church.
Graveside service was held March 1 at Hall Cemetery in Natural Dam under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel of Fort Smith.
He is survived by his wife, Gladys; a daughter, Barbara Atwell of Rudy; two sons, Charles Harp of the home and Farris Harp of Van Buren; a brother, Jim Harp of Fayetteville; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
