Lorraine Edwards
Lorraine Maurice Edwards, 83, died Wednesday, January 20, at Baptist
Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri.
She was a resident of Kansas City, Missouri and formerly lived in
Marianna when her husband, Ross Edwards, was minister of the First
Baptist Church.
She attended Ouachita Baptist University in Arkadelphia. She received
both a Masters in Education and Education Specialist degrees from
Central Missouri State University.
She served other Baptist churches in Warrensburg, MO and Kansas City.
She was a member of the Swope Park Baptist Church, where she served as a
teacher and guidance counselor for more than 30 years.
She was last employed as a counselor at Van Horn High School in
Independence, MO. She retired from the Kansas City School District in
1982.
She is survived by a son, Douglas Edwards of Kansas City; a daughter,
Wanda Buchre, also of Kansas City; seven grandchildren and five great
grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Edwards, in 1993.
Funeral services were held Monday, January 25, at the First Baptist
Church in Lee's Summit, MO at 11 a.m. Burial followed at Lee's Summit
Cemetery.
Arrangements were handled by Langsford Funeral Home in Lee's Summit.
James Whitaker
James Edward Whitaker, 87, died Sunday, January 17, at Helena Regional
Medical Center.
He is survived by five sons, Charles Whitaker, James W. Whitaker,
Alexander Whitaker and Anthony "Chomp" Holloway, all of Marianna and
Lawrence E. Whitaker of Memphis; four daughters, Sarah Whitaker of
Oakland, CA., Velma Whitaker Randolph of Little Rock, Martha Whitaker
and Willie Mae Whitaker, both of Marianna; 44 grandchildren and 37 great
grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah K. Carter, Whitaker and his
son, Paul Whitaker.
Funeral services were held Saturday, January 23, at 1 p.m. at New Bethel
Church in Marianna with Rev. Cecil Coleman officiating. Burial followed
at Paradise Garden Cemetery in Edmondson.
Arrangements were handled by Jackson and Highley Funeral Home.
Neva Burns
Neva Lucille Burns, 70, died Thursday, January 21, in her home.
She was a housewife and a member of the Baptist Faith.
She is survived by her husband, Narvis Burns of Marianna; two sons,
Wilson Burns of Marianna and Donald Burns of Blue Lake, AR; two
brothers, Ed Christian of Madison and Jerry Christian of Neosho, MO; two
sisters, Louise Lewis of Augusta and Faye McKinney of Hughes; 12
grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her son, Wayne Burns.
Funeral services were held Monday, January 25 at 10 a.m. at
Roller-Citizens Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Lee Whitley and Rev. Benny
Hall officiating. Burial followed at Marianna Memorial Park.
Pallbearers were Tommy Parish, Terry McCoy, Jimmy Miller, Buddy Lewis,
Tim Lewis, Tommy Bageant, Arlin Smith and Jerry Valdez.
Arrangements were handled by Roller-Citizens Funeral Home.
Roy Forrest
Roy Forrest, 73, died Friday, January 22, in his home.
He was a resident of Lee County and a farmer.
He is survived by his wife, Nola Forrest of Marianna; one daughter,
Debbie Odle of Marianna; two sons, David Forrest of Marion and Dennis
Forrest of Marianna; one sister-in-law, Ruth Forrest of West Memphis;
three grandchildren, Jennifer Odle Mooney of Marianna and Eric and Julie
Forrest of Marion; one great grandchild, Joshua Tanner Mooney of
Marianna and a host of nieces and nephews.
Graveside services were held Sunday, January 24, at 2 p.m. at Marianna
Memorial Park with Harley Kersey and Bro. Andy Wilbanks officiating.
Memorials may be sent to the Aubrey Missionary Baptist Church.
Arrangements were handled by Roller-Citizens Funeral Home.
Johnny Nash, Jr.
Johnny Lee Nash, Jr., 29, died Saturday, January 23.
He was a resident of Lee County.
He is survived by his mother, Nellie Ward, and his stepfather, Leonard
Ward, both of Marianna; his father, Johnny Lee Nash of Marianna; three
sisters, Lillie Palmer, Lula Bryant and Lanett Nash, all of Marianna;
and two brothers, Joseph Nash and James Nash, both of Marianna.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 30, at 2 p.m. at New
Bethel Church with Rev. Cecil Coleman officiating. Burial will follow at
Clay Hill Cemetery at Haynes.
Arrangements are being handled by Marianna Funeral Home.
Wilbur Gray
Wilbur Leslie Gray, 89, died Saturday, February 6, at Baptist Memorial
Hospital in Forrest City.
He was a resident of Lee County and a auto mechanic for Bush Ford
Dealer/Marianna. He was a member of the First Baptist Church and a
veteran of the U.S. Army. He also was a member of the American Legion
and a 32nd Degree Mason-Lodge #171.
He is survived by his brother, Mack Gray of Des Arc and numerous nieces
and nephews.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, February 9, at Roller-Citizens
Chapel at 2 p.m. with Rev. Rick Needham officiating. Burial followed at
Marianna Memorial Park.
Pallbearers were Boyd Russell, Jack Beauchamp, Ray Cross, W.D. Rice,
Alton Yancey and George Helton.
Arrangements were handled by Roller-Citizens Funeral Home.

Mary Anne Key
Mary Anne Key, 53, died Sunday, February 7, at Jackson Madison County
General Hospital.
She was a 28 year resident of Jackson, TN. She was born in Marianna. She
attended T.A. Futrall High School, where she was a cheerleader. She was
a partner in Key Fire Protection, Inc., the owner of Mary Anne's Doll
Boutique, an artist, an avid antique collector, a member of Dollectable
Doll Club, and enjoyed outdoor activities including boating. A member of
Brown's United Methodist Church, she was very active in Prayer Groups
and the Ladies Groups. Her other civic activities include past President
of the West Memphis Jaycettes, past officer in the North Side
Quarterback Club, Cub Scout Den Mother, Boy Scouts, PTA, Room Mother,
and the Adopt a Child Program with the mall.
She is survived by her husband, Jerry Key; three sons, Jerry Key, Jr.,
Jimmy Key and Jonathan, all of Jackson, TN; her father, Taylor Jackson
Brooks of Byhalia, MS; her grandmother, Mary Hunt Webb of Jackson; five
grandchildren; two sisters, Beverly Brooks Watkins of Drandon, MS and
Janice Brooks Palmer of Marianna; a brother, Cody Brooks of Jackson and
an aunt; Margaret Jackson of Jackson.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, February 10, at 11 a.m. at George
A. Smith and Sons North Chapel in Jackson with Rev. Judy Clark
officiating. Burial followed at Brown's Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Russ Ellis, Cory Hill, Clint Ellis, Scott Casey, Gerald
Reed, Pierce Barnett, Jack Hardin and Bill McMillen.
Honorary pallbearers were Quinnie Harris, Bobby Weaver, Van Veatch, Max
Herron and Tom Hillsman.

Della B. Miller
Della B. "Puddin" Miller, 63, died Saturday, February 6, at JMRC in Pine
Bluff.
She was a resident of Lee County and a homemaker. She also was a member
of the Peter Chapel M.B. Church.
She is survived by her husband, T.C. Miller, Sr. of Marianna; two
brothers, Elie Lillard and Albert Lillard, both of West Palm, FL; eight
daughters, Bertha Miller, of West Palm Beach, FL, Della Miller Monroe of
Michigan City, Shelia Miller Thompson and Jo Ann Miller, both of Little
Rock, Winnie Miller Simpson of West Helena, Joyce Miller Powell,
Patricia Miller and Jennifer Miller, all of Marianna; six sons, T. C.
Jr. Miller, Jessie Miller and Elie Miller, all of West Palm Beach, FL.,
Frank Miles of Daytona Beach, FL., Jay D. Miller of Marianna and Jeffery
A. Miller of Pine Bluff; 30 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 13, at St. John M.B.
Church in Felton with Rev. G.H. Hall officiating. Burial will follow at
Peter's Chapel M.B. Church.
Pallbearers will be Ray Peals, Sr., Robert Peals, Timothy Palmer, Edward
Jimmerson, Timothy White, Donald Stanley, Charles Brown and Troy Curry,
