Rev. Frankie Pollard
DYER - The Rev. Frankie D. Pollard, 71, of Dyer died Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2003, at a local hospital. He was a retired minister with Assembly of God in Oklahoma and an Army veteran of the Korean War.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothey; two daughters, Nancy Beckham of Lewisville, Texas, and Karrie Retherford of Buena Vista, Colo.; two sons, Robin Pollard of Anadarko, Okla., and Dale Pollard of Dyer; four sisters, Sylvia Hawhee and Jannete Pollard, both of Bedford, Iowa, Joan Cox of Kansas City, Mo., and Jean Richmond of Hazen; a brother, Wayne Pollard of Vilonia; 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Funeral service was held Feb. 7 at Ocker Funeral Home Chapel in Alma with burial at Dyer Cemetery with military honors.
Pallbearers were Dale and Robin Pollard, Tim, Brian and Jeremy Beckham and Darrell Retherford.
Rufus Holt
Rufus A. Holt, 86 of Mulberry, died Friday, Feb. 7, 2003, at a local hospital. He was born Sept. 4, 1916, in Alma. He was a farmer and of the Baptist faith. He was a committee member of the ASCS of Crawford County for more than 20 years. He was a longtime resident of the Turner community and active in the community where he served as a board member for several years. He also was a Pope Cemetery board member.
He is survived by his wife, Hazel; three daughters, Willie Jones of Mulberry, Wilma McDaniel of Owasso, Okla., and Marilyn Marshall of Dyer; two sons, Jesse Holt of Ringold, Ga., and the Rev. David Holt of Ozark; a sister, Josie Lea Brown of Clarksville; 18 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral servide was held Feb. 10 at Ocker Chapel of Alma with burial at Pope Cemetery in Crawford County under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were his grandsons.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Rufus A. Holt Memorial Scholarship Fund at Mountainburg High School.
O.D. Meadors
O.D. Meadors, 80, of Mountainburg, died Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2002, at a local hospital. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Mountainburg, a retired farmer, an Army veteran of World War II 16th armored division.
Survivors include his wife, Depp Meadors, one son, John S. Meadors of Mountainburg; one sister, Anita Osburn of Mountainburg; two grandchildren, Donny Meadors and Danny Meadors, both of Mountainburg; two nephews, Dale Sebourn of La. and Dobbin Osburn of Mountainburg; and several great nieces and nephews.
Funeral service was held Feb. 2 at Ocker Chapel of Alma. Burial was held at Vaught Cemetery under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Alma.
Pallbearers were Randall Reed, John Meadors, Eugene Meadors, Ray Meadors, Dale McDaniel ad Doyle Osburn.
Ruth Hall
Ruth Violet Hall, 91, of Rudy, died Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2002, at a local nursing home. She was a life-long resident of Crawford County, a Baptist and a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Muggins Hall.
Survivors include two daughters, Kay Marie Smith and Donna Faye Brown, both of Rudy, one son, John Hall of Rudy; one sister, Ellen Gail Robertson of Bryan, Texas; six grandsons, Brad Hall, Cliff Hall, David Smith, Scott Smith, Kevin Brown and Rick Brown; two granddaughters, Sherry Hays and Diana Smith.
Funeral service was held Feb. 1 at Ocker Memorial Chapel. Burial was at Oliver Springs Cemetery under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Van Buren.
Pallbearers were her grandsons.
Reba McKown
Reba Dale McKown, 76, of Rudy, died Jan. 30, 2002, at a local hospital. She was a homemaker, member of D.A.V. women’s auxiliary, a volunteer worker at the V.A. hospital in Fayetteville and a Baptist.
Survivors include two daughters, Jeannie Gentry of Van Buren and Teresa Burnett of Figure Five Community; two sons, Kenneth McKown of Figure Five community and Bert A. McKown of Bond Special Community; one sister, Mildred Goins of Spiro; 15 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Funeral service was held Feb. 1 at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be held at U.S. National Cemetery under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren.
Pallbearers were her grandchildren.
Edith Vanbrunt
Edith Vanbrunt, 87, of Mulberry, died Friday, Feb. 1, 2002. She was a homemaker and a Baptist.
Survivors include her husband, Omer; five daughters, Beulah Jacobs of Stevinson, Calif., Mary Lou Kershner of Van Buren and Shirley Ann Renfro, Lois Quick and Clara Fay Willson, all of Mulberry; a son, Alfred Harold Vanbrunt of Fort Smith; a sister, Eula Patterson of Mulberry; 17 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.
Funeral service was held Feb. 5 at Shaffer Funeral Home Chapel in Mulberry. Burial was held at Oak Bower Cemetery under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home of Mulberry.
Pallbearers were Gary Renfro, Jimmy Vanbrunt, Jason Vanbrunt, Kyle Kershner, Tony Dunn and Tommy Quick.
Honorary pallbearers were Billy Frank James, Quincy Jacobs, Paul Jacobs, Wallace Patterson, Don James, Roy Patterson, Kenneth Patterson, Herman James, Delmer Patterson, James E. Patterson, Billy Joe Crabtree and Dwight James.

Hazel Hamilton
Hazel L. Hamilton, 67, of Rudy, died Monday, Feb. 4, 2002. She was a member of Bethlehem Freewill Baptist and a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, R.G.; two daughters, Peggy King of Rudy and Melinda Trent of Van Buren; one son, Ronnie Hamilton Sr. of Van Buren; two sisters, Ida Bell Meadows of Van Buren and Darcie Shrum of Fort Smith; four brothers, Elmer Moses of Hackett, Delmer Moses of Alma and Russell Moses and Larry Tim Moses, both of Van Buren; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Graveside service was held Feb. 6 at Hall Cemetery Arbor under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Van Buren.
Pallbearers were Jimmy Dodson, Timmy Hamilton, Gary Ray Meadows, Danny Moses, Larry Gene Moses and David Skaggs.
