Bill Spivey
Bill C. Spivey, 77, of Mulberry, died Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2002, at a local hospital. He was a retired carpenter, attended Chastain Church of Christ, an Army veteran of World War II, former P.O.W., a life time member of 101st Airborne Division, was in the 501st Parachute Infantry Regiment during the D-Day Invasion in Normandy, France, a member of Western Arkansas Scottish Rite, 32nd degree Mason, member at Van Buren Lodge, Vine Springs Lodge, Uniontown Lodge, Eastern Star, VFW, Purple Heart, life member of the 101st Airborne Division Association, the Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners Union.
Survivors include his wife, Evelyn; four daughters, Punkin Corse and Rosemary Groda, both of Alma, Barbara Rupley of La Porte, Texas, and Bonnie Spivey of Atlanta; a son, Billy Spivey of Deer Park, Texas; a sister, Ruth Koeferd of Houston; 16 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Graveside Masonic service was held with military honors Feb. 9 at Chastain Cemetery Pavilion under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Alma.
Pallbearers were Bryan Groda, Joshua Groda, Christopher Rupley, Jordan Rupley, Matthew Handy, Michael Handy, Brad Handy and Michael Bennett.
Memorial contributions may be made to Chastain Cemetery, c/o Bank of Mulberry, P.O. Drawer A, Mulberry, AR 72947.

Reva Dollard
Reva S. Dollard, 84, of Mountainburg, died Saturday, June 29, 2002, at an Alma nursing home. She was a homemaker and of the Protestant faith. She was preceded in death by her husband, Buford H. Dollard.
Survivors include two daughters, Patricia L. Peters of Mountainburg and Regina Friday of Alma; a son, James R. Dollard of Mountainburg; three sisters, Norma Cristee of Alma, Bernice Mullen of Rudy and Evalina Eoff of Mountainburg; 12 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Graveside service was held July 2 at Conley Cemetery in Mountainburg under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Alma.
Pallbearers were her grandsons, Duke Campbell, Steve, Brett and Heath Peters, Shane Parker and Jared Inman.
Honorary pallbearers were Gene Inman, Jess and Darren Dollard and Todd and Brian Friday.

S.M. Bright
S.M. Bright, 70, of Mulberry, died Monday, July 1, 2002, at a local hospital. He was a self-employed truck driver.
Survivors include his wife, Sue; four sons, Orbery Bright of Lenoir City, Tenn., Gary Bright of Mulberry, Carl Bright of Anomosa, Iowa, and Billy Bright of Van Buren; two brothers, Pete Bright of Olathe, Kan., and Chris Bright of Mulberry; 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral service was held July 3 at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home Chapel in Van Buren. Burial was at New Cemetery in Mulberry.
Pallbearers were Bob Henry, Johnny Bratton, Richard Ivey, Wallace Peters, Albert Reeves and Darrell Wheeler.

Eunice Massey
Eunice Crabtree Massey, 83, of Cedarville, died Thursday May 9, 2002, at a local nursing home. She was a member of the Cedarville Assembly of God Church and a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, Leonard; two daughters, Linda Sue Mathis of Hackett and Brenda K. Morris of Van Buren; four sisters, Reba Wells of Chester, Wanda Morland of Alma, Alma Tudor of Van Buren and Von Myers of Cedarville; six brothers, Ike Crabtree and Jerry Crabtree, both of Van Buren, Don Crabtree of Cedarville, Leonard Crabtree of Santa Maria, Calif., Junior Crabtree of Bixby, Okla., and Ezra Crabtree of Fort Smith; three grandchildren, Jonathan Mathis of Lake Village, Julie Ann Carusa of Fort Smith and Dawn Marquina of Anaheim, Calif.; and one great-great-grandchild, Noelle Marquina of Anaheim.
Funeral service was held May 13 at Ocker Memorial Chapel. Burial was at U.S. National Cemetery under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Van Buren.
Pallbearers were her nephews, Keith Crabtree, Bruce Crabtree, Tommy Wells, Jimmy Wells, Teddy Wells and Mike Wells.

Billy Truelove
Billy Ray Truelove, infant son of Danny and Debra Truelove of Mountainburg, died Tuesday, April 16, 2002, at a local hospital.
Other survivors include three sisters, Becky Truelove of Rockaway Beach, Mo., Amy Perry of Fort Smith and April Truelove of Mountainburg; his paternal grandmother, Pearl Truelove of Omaha; his maternal grandmother, Janice Truelove of Mountainburg; and his maternal grandfather, David Church of Mountainburg.
Graveside service was held May 18 at Conley Cemetery in Mountainburg under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Alma.

James Cross
James LeRoy Cross Sr., 80, of Rudy, died Saturday May 11, 2002. He served in the Navy during World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Cecilia; seven children, Brian Cross of Rudy, Gary Cross of Salida, Colo., Betty Syrock of Cedarville, Marty Cross of Poncha Springs, Colo., Diana Wood of Poncha Springs and Jacqueline Neldner of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Mary Cross of Dolores, Colo.; four brothers, John Cross, Earl Cross, Dale Cross and Lawrence Cross; three sisters, Ida Irwin, Louise Rickshaw and Jesse Elvik; 21 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.
Recitation of the Holy Rosary was held May 15 with mass of the Christian burial held at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Interment was held at Poncha Springs Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Witt, Lewis and Glenn Funeral Home.

Ruby Rush
Ruby Rush, 95, of Kibler, died Thursday, May 16, 2002, at a local nursing home. She was a homemaker and a member of Kibler Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest.
Survivors include two daughters, Joy Foggia of Milwaukie, Ore., and Peggy Freeman of Joliet, Ill.; two sisters, Lillian Arnold of Alma and Jean Smith of Van Buren; one brother, Curtis Robinson of Cedarville; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service was held May 18 at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was at Janes Creek Cemetery under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren.

Miranda Burcham
Miranda Jean Burcham, 8, of Mountainburg, died Saturday, March 23, 2002, at a Little Rock hospital. She was a member of Homestead Heights Church in Fort Smith, a Mountainburg Primary School student where she was a cheerleader, member of the basketball and baseball teams and an honor student.
Survivors include her mother and stepfather, Donna and Justin Lewis of Mountainburg; her father and stepmother, Carl and Sabrina Burcham of Van Buren; maternal grandfather, Jerry Boerjan of Mountainburg; paternal grandparents, Paul and Betty Darter of Fort Smith; two sisters, Jessica Lewis of Mountainburg and Vanessa Franklin of Fort Smith; four brothers, Bobby Burcham of Alma, James Mirus and Brandon Lewis, both of Mountainburg, and James Stringer of Poteau; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral service was held March 27 at Ocker Chapel of Alma. Burial was at Cain Cemetery under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Alma.
Pallbearers were Troy Flinn, Jim Ray David, Richard Johnson and Tiger Backus.
