Robert J. Brown
Robert J. Brown, 42, of Phoenix, Ariz., brother of Patricia Inman of Rector, died Saturday, April 7, 2001, in an accident at Phoenix.
The son of the late Cecil and Aline (Shubert) Brown, he was a carnival employee and was of the Pentecostal faith.
Other survivors include his wife, Patty (Ford) Brown, of Marianna; two daughters, Jessica Brown and Katelyn Brown, of the home; one brother, Steve Brown of Steele, Mo., and a host of aunts and uncles.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Mary Jane Hathaway
Mary Jane Hathaway, 90, of 207 North Second St., Marmaduke, died Tuesday, July 24, 2001, at Rupert, Idaho.
Mrs. Hathaway was born July 29, 1910, in Marmaduke to the late James Oliver Smith and Joycie Carolyn (Wyatt) Smith. She had worked as a dietary assistant and was a member of Ramer's Chapel United Methodist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Duane Smith of Rupert, Idaho, and Darrel Smith of Ontario, Ore.; one sister, Ruby Williams of Marmaduke; two sisters-in-law, Agnes Smith of Paragould and Betty Smith of Memphis, Tenn., seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by four brothers, Thomas, Johnny, James and Eugene Smith, and three sisters, Bessie West, Lizzie Rutledge and Deloris Barrow.
Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Monday, July 30, at Irby Funeral Home Chapel in Marmaduke with Rev. Wayne Gould officiating. Burial was in Ramer's Chapel Cemetery in Greene County with Irby Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers were Kenneth Kuykendall, Raymond Wyatt, Danny Wyatt, Terry Wyatt, Levaughn Barrow and Gerald Smith.
Donald Leroy Callantine
Donald Leroy Callantine, 72, of Norfork, formerly of Rector, died Thursday, Sept. 27, 2001, at Mountain Home.
He was born Dec. 2, 1928, in Manard, Mont. He was a retired auto mechanic and Air Force veteran having served in World War II and Korea.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, oil painting and camping. He was a Protestant.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Emma Bennett Callantine, and a brother.
Survivors include his wife, Madge Crawford Callantine; four sons and daughters-in-law, Marty and Cathy Callantine of Paragould, Bob and Debbie Callantine of Flippin, Daniel and Jennifer Callantine of Clarkridge and Bryan and Carmen Callantine of Salesville; a daughter and son-in-law, Teresa and Tim Tracer of Rector; 12 grandchildren; a brother, Noah Ralph Callantine of Kalispell, Mont., and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial services were held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 30, at the First General Baptist Church in Rector with Rev. Loy Culver and Rev. Kenny Burns officiating.
Burial was in Harvey's Chapel Cemetery in Marmaduke with Kirby-Boaz Funeral Directors of Mountain Home in charge of arrangements.
The family requests memorials be made to Hospice of the Ozarks.
Annie O. Lucius
Annie O. Lucius, 94, of the Paragould Nursing Center, formerly of Rector, died Saturday, Dec. 8, 2001, at Paragould Nursing Center.
Mrs. Lucius was born Dec. 22, 1906, to the late James Frances Reese and Lurinnie Fielder Reese and was marriage Jan. 31, 1925, in Chickasaw County, Miss., to Joe Thomas Lucius, who preceded her in death in 1986. She was a homemaker and a member of the Cappadocia General Baptist Church
Also preceding her in death were two daughters, Opal Reddick and Martha Ann Lucius; one son, Orne Lucius; two brothers, Edward Reese and Woodrow Reese, and two sisters, Eunice Reedy and Charlotte Reese.
Survivors include four sons and three daughters-in-law, Bill Lucius of Port Charlotte, Fla., Burl and Erma Lucius of Bullard, Texas, Joe and Linda Lucius of Fayetteville and Jimmy and Rhonda Lucius of Rector; one special grandson, Patrick Lucius of Rector; one daughter, Orene Starnes of Flint, Mich.; two sisters, Ruby Rhodes of Vardemen, Miss., and Elmer West of Mississippi, numerous grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were held Tuesday, Dec. 11, at Woodland Heights Cemetery in Rector with Bro. Jerry Gregory officiating. Irby Funeral Home of Rector was in charge of arrangements.
