Jesse Odel Rundel
Jesse Odel Rundel, 59, of Piggott died Sunday, Feb. 3, 2002, at Piggott Community Hospital.
He was born Jan. 25, 1943, in Clay County, the son of the late Iven Jesse Rundel and Chapel Slayton.
He was of the Church of Christ faith and was a factory worker.
He was preceded in death by one son, Byson Ray Rundel.
He is survived by two sons, Ivan Odel Rundel of Paragould and Robert Neal Rundel of Poplar Bluff, Mo.; a daughter, Shawna Kay Rundel of Marmaduke; two brothers, Don Ray Rundel of Piggott and Melvin Rundel of Michigan; 14 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 5, in Irby Chapel in Piggott with Bro. Kim Bridges officiating.
Burial was in Mitchell Cemetery near Greenway with Irby Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers were Brian Potter, Jeremy Rundel, David Taylor, Greg Taylor, Mitchell Taylor and Steve Slayton.
George A. Burns Sr.
George A. Burns Sr., 62, of Galveston, Ind., a native of Rector, died Monday, July 9, 2001, at his home.
Born Oct. 21, 1938, in Rector, he was the son of Andrew J. and Naomi M. (Gordon) Burns. He was marriage to Christy K. Beckley Burns, who survives.
He was employed by Deichman Excavating Co., retiring in 2000. He was a member of the Francis Slocum Trail Riders and UAW Local 274.
Survivors include his wife; two sons and daughters-in-law, William A and Shelly Burns of Kokomo, Ind., and George A. Burns Jr. and Debbie; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Jerry and Barbara Cassell of Amboy, Ind., John and Barbara Burns of Young America, Ind., and Mike and Carolyn Burns of Kokomo, and a brother and his fiancée, Franks Burns and Davina Johnson; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Ester and Harroll Gatewood of Galveston, Betty and Butch Cessna of Kokomo and Mary Jo and Ed Rethlake of Kokomo, 11 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 12, at Murray Funeral Home in Galveston. Burial was in Galveston Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Eula Edwards
Eula Edwards, 91, of Rector died Wednesday, March 20, 2002.
Mrs. Edwards was born Jan. 14, 1911, in the Blue Cane community to the late Elvis and Enola Cox. She was a homemaker and a Baptist.
She also was preceded in death by her husband, C.E. Edwards; daughter, Melda Terry, and seven brothers.
Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Gloria and Charles Smith of Rector, 13 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and nine great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Friday, March 22, at Mitchell Funeral Home Chapel in Rector with Rev. James Henry Dortch and Rev. Kenny Burns officiating.
Burial was in Woodland Heights Cemetery in Rector with Mitchell Funeral Home of Rector in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers were Dewain Smith, Kevin Terry, Keith Smith, Allen Edwards, Bobby Terry and Dennis Robertson.
Lloyd Wesley Mobley
Lloyd Wesley Mobley, 82, of Oxford, Mich., a native of Rector, died Saturday, July 28, 2001, at Lapeer (Mich.) Regional Hospital.
Mr. Mobley was born April 22, 1919, in Rector to Minnie and Cullen Harris Mobley of Rector. He was a longtime resident of Lapeer and Tuscola counties. He marriage Evelyn (Shaver) Robinson on June 21, 1975, at Silverwood United Methodist Church. He was the principal broker at the Red Bird Realty Agency of Lapeer and was known throughout the country for his training of Tennessee Walking Horses at Red Bird Farms of Oxford. He was a lifetime member of Walking Horse Association of Michigan.
He enjoyed showing horses and field trials for dogs and also loved to spend time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Evelyn; six children, Mary Jane (Edward) Caustin of Arroyo Grande, Calif., Billie Jeane Williamson of McMinnville, Ore., Lloyd Wesley (Linda) Mobley Jr. of Berthoud, Colo., Susan Robinson of Columbiaville, Mich., William (Tammy) Robinson of Mayville, Mich., and Shelley (Ron) Clark of Columbiaville; two brothers, Bill Mobley of Rector and Donald Mobley of Tulsa, Okla., 13 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.
Funeral services were scheduled at 1 p.m. today (Wednesday, Aug. 1) at Silverwood United Methodist Church, Silverwood, Mich., with Pastor Ron Hutchinson officiating. Interment was at the Rich Township Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Silverwood United Methodist Church.
