Lue Tinzie
Lue Gene Tinzie, 76, died Monday, November 29, at Baptist Hospital in
Forrest City.
He was a resident of Palestine. He was a self-employed farmer for
several years and a former employee of Douglas and Lomason. He also was
a member of Mt. Gillian M.B. Church.
He is survived by his wife, Laura Lee Tinzie; three sons, Gene Tinzie,
Jr of Chicago, James Tinzie of Palestine and Ken Tinzie of Gary, IN; two
daughters, Eunice Perkins of Kansas City and Florine Johnson of Chicago;
and 14 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday, December 4, at 2 p.m., at Mt.
Gillian M.B. Church in Holub Crossing. Burial followed at Gill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Ken Tinzie, Allen Coleman, Steven Tinzie, Gregory
Morgan, Patrick Turner and Eric Turner.
Honorary pallbearers were Earnest Walton, Columbus Dukes, Sr., Curtis
Walker, James Meredith, Arthur Perkins, Sr. and Junior Richardson.
Arrangements were handled by Marianna Funeral Home.
William Ersery
William L. Ersery, 58, died Friday, November 26, at VA Medical Center in
Phoenix.
He was a resident of Phoenix and served in the Army for 22 years.
He is survived by a step-mother, Luerean Ersery of West Memphis; two
sons, Daryl Ersery of Chicago and Vincent Ersery of Arizona; one
daughter, Angelica Ersery of Chicago; and one brother, Richard Polk of
Marianna.
Funeral services were held Saturday, December 4, at 11 a.m., at
Hightower and Son Funeral Chapel with Rev. S. Brown officiating. Burial
followed at St. John Cemetery in Felton.
Arrangements were handled by Hightower and Son Funeral Home.
Edward Baker
Minister Edward Baker, 74, died Saturday, November 27, at Baptist
Memorial Hospital in Forrest City.
He was a resident of Marianna and a L.P.N. He managed the Halfway House,
worked with alcohol and drugs programs. He dedicated his life to helping
others.
He is survived by his wife, Ola Baker; and one step-daughter, Altha
Jones of Marianna.
Funeral services were held Saturday, December 4, at 2 p.m., at St. John
M.B. Church in Felton with Rev. Robert Taylor officiating. Burial
followed at St. John Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Jessie Bailey, Andrew Bailey, C.L. Bailey, Terry
Dulittle, Tyron Hoy and Rick Jones.
Honorary pallbearers were Second Baptist Church.
Arrangements were handled by Hightower and Son Funeral Home.
Alvis Graham, Jr.
Alvis Graham, Jr., 57, died Thursday, December 2.
He was a resident of Marianna and a farmer. He also was a member of the
First Baptist Church in Marianna.
He is survived by his wife, Marcia Duke Graham of Marianna; one
daughter, Libby G. Herndon of Marianna; four sisters, Nellie Lovell,
Judy Key and Jane Key, all of Marianna and Helen Bowman of Moro; one
brother, Paul David Graham of Marianna; and one granddaughter.
Graveside services were held Tuesday, December 7, at 12:30 p.m., at
Marianna Memorial Park with the Rev. Steve Walter officiating.
Memorials may be made to the National Heart Fund.

Robert Cothran
Robert L. Cothran, 79, died Sunday, April 18, in Amory, MS.
Mr. Cothran was born in Lee County and returned home in 1964 after
retiring from the U.S. Army where he served for 23 years. He was a
member of the First Presbyterian Church in Marianna and a Veteran of the
U.S. Army. He also was a member of the American Legion Post #5.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Helen Owens Cothran of Marianna;
two daughters, Jann Jordon of Conway and Lynda Andrews of Marianna; and
three grandchildren, Brook Jordan of Minneapolis and Bobby Andrews and
Loran Andrews, both of Marianna.
Graveside services were held Tuesday, April 20, at 2 p.m. at Marianna
Memorial Park with Rev. Don Montgomery officiating.
Honorary pallbearers were Marshall Womble, D.E. Webb, Robert Hughes,
Martin Chaffin, George McClure, Henry Boyer, Robert Cothran, Harold
Cothran, Brooks Jones and the American Legion Post #5.
Arrangements were handled by Roller-Citizens Funeral Home in Marianna.
Warfield Livingston
Warfield Livingston, 80, died Tuesday, April 13, at Methodist Hospital
in Memphis.
He was a resident of Lee County and a member of the New Bethel Church in
Marianna.
He is survived by his wife, Letie Livingston; two sons, Tommie Brown and
Willie Livingston; seven daughters, Izola Arnold, Mattie Jackson,
Barbara Gates, Dorothy Carter, Boyce Livingston, Sarah Jones and Edna
Hargraves, all of Marianna; 41 grandchildren and 77 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday, April 17, at 11 a.m. at New Bethel
M.B. Church with Rev. Cecil Coleman officiating. Burial followed at Old
Zion M.B. Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Rodney Bryson, Cameron Bryson, Rodell Livingston, Sandy
Livingston, Colby Hargraves and Kevin Garett.
Honorary pallbearers were Ulysess Hargraves, Sr., William Hill, Ronnie
Jones, Stanley Willis and Truman Carter.

Mary Buchanan
Mary Dell Buchanan, 64, died Tuesday, April 13, at Crittenden Memorial
Hospital.
She was a resident of Lee County and a homemaker. She also was a member
of the New Bethel Church.
She is survived by ten children, Stella Lindsey of Pine Bluff, Nellie J.
Massey of Marianna, Linda Thomas of Rock Island, Eugene Buchanan, Jr. of
Marianna, Jo Ann Whitaker of Marianna, Patricia Brown of Sierra Vista,
AZ, Charles Buchanan of Dallas, Donna M. Buchanan of Forrest City, Terry
Buchanan of Dallas and Melvin Buchanan of Denver; eight sisters, three
brothers, 29 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday, April 17, at 2:30 p.m. at New
Bethel M.B. Church with Rev. Cecil Coleman officiating. Burial followed
at Mt. City Cemetery.
Pallbearers were James Harris, Larry Hall, Michael Morris, Nathaniel
Williams, Montrell Jones and Jack Farrar.
Honorary pallbearers were Eugene Buchanan, Terry Ray Buchanan, Charles
Buchanan, Melvin Buchanan, Leo Massey and Otis Brown.

Joseph Young
Joe Futrell Young, 77, died Tuesday, March 16, in Fort Smith.
He was a former resident of Lee County and the son of the late Dr. J.C.
Young. He also was a veteran of World War II.
He is survived by three daughters, Toni Marler of Gassville, AR, Rev. Jo
Dale Olson of Bismarck, N.D. and Serena Key of Arkoma, OK; one
stepdaughter, Lottie Wann of Gore, OK; one son, Joey Young of Fort
Smith; three sisters, Jenny Ann Boyer of Marianna, Mrs. Eugene Leonard
and Mrs. Auby Mays; and one brother, Hosea Young.
Funeral services were held Friday, March 19, at 11 a.m. at Putman
Funeral Home Chapel in Fort Smith with Dr. James Zeltner officiating.
Burial followed at National Cemetery in Fort Smith.
Pallbearers were the Air National Guard.

Italene Davis
Italene Beatrice Davis, 83, died Tuesday, March 30, at Crestpark
Retirement Inn.
She was a resident of Lee County and a retired cashier of West Hornor
Motor Company. She was of the Baptist faith.
She is survived by a sister-in-law, Anne Davis of Marianna; a nephew,
Jim Davis of Marianna; two other nephews and three nieces.
Funeral services were held Friday, April 2, at 10 a.m. at Roller
Citizens Chapel with Rev. Butch Phelps officiating. Burial followed at
Marianna Memorial Park.
Pallbearers were Darren Jones, Jim Fugitt, Steve Cloyd, Eddie Pena,
Curtis Ables and Hunter Logan.
