Wayne Gregory
Wayne Gregory, age 68, of Cleveland, Arkansas died Monday, May 8, 2000.
He was born June 5, 1931, in Fort Douglas, Arkansas, a son of the late Albert and Norma Bowan Gregory. Mr. Gregory was a self-employed truck driver, a Korean Army veteran, and member of Falling Water Church.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Mason Gregory; sons, Darrell Gregory and wife, Tina, of Hartman, and Doyle Gregory and wife, Connie, of Morrilton; daughters, Denise Gregory of Hattieville, Carol Robison and husband, Jerome, of Cleveland, Tennessee, and Mary Price of Russellville; brothers, Harold Gregory of Dover, and Shelby Gregory of Walnut Creek, Calif.; sisters, Fredia Dotson of Russellville, and Juanita Fields of Atkins; and grandchildren, Charles Steele, Darrell Gregory, Raven Gregory, Josieane Robison, Jerome Robison, Jessica Robison, Jade Robison, Brett Price, and Dustin Price.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 10, at the Harris Chapel with the Rev. Lester Chisum and the Rev. Bob Chisum officiating. Burial will be at Vinson Chapel by Harris Funeral Home of Morrilton.
Pallbearers will be Charles Steele, Darrell Gregory, Jerome Robison, Marty Gregory, John Mason, and Ricky Emerson.
John Umphres
John Lycurgus "Jackie" Umphres, 68, of Shreveport, La., died Saturday, May 6, 2000.
He was born in St. Louis, Mo., to Robert Oden Umphres and Bertha Redditt Umphres on July 16, 1931. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, a 32nd Degree Mason at Broadmoor Masonic Lodge 432, El Karubah Shrine and York Rite body. He was a Korean Army veteran in the Artillery Division, discharged in 1954. A high school graduate of Adona School. Mr. Umphres was a retired funeral director and embalmer for Rose-Neath Funeral Homes Inc.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia Grimsley Umphres; one son and daughter-in-law, Michael Odgen and Renee Umphres of Rowlett; two sisters, Mauree Taliaferro of Columbia, Mo., and Joyce Howard of Oklahoma City; a stepbrother, Bruce "Buck" Smith of Ola, and two granddaughters, Rachel Leigh Umphres and Kristen Michelle Umphres.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Raymond Edgar Umphres and one sister, Ann Carolyn. He also has a host of loving nieces and nephews.
Funeral services are today (Wednesday) 11:30 a.m. at Rose-Neath Marshall Street Chapel by the Rev. William Mayo.
Graveside service will be 1 p.m. Thursday with Bro. Charles Ware officiating. Burial will be at Liberty Cemetery in Adona by Rose-Neath Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be his nephews, Paul West, David Howard, James Dowling, Matt Dowling, Mark Dowling, Robbie Tolliver, David Tolliver, Raymond E Umphres Jr., Robert Umphres, and Bradford Umphres.
Bert Deweese
Bert Allen Deweese, 35, of Morrilton died Thursday, May 4, 2000.
He was born on May 12, 1964, in Roseburg, Ore., a son of Harold and MaryE. Hicks Deweese. He was a general laborer for Virco in Conway.
Other than his parents, survivors include his wife, Lillie Deweese; one son, James Wilson of Morrilton; one daughter, Connie Moore of Morrilton; one brother, Jeff Deweese of Roseburg; one sister, Renee Briggs of Roseburg; a grandmother of Colorado, and two grandchildren.
Memorial services were Monday at 2 p.m. at Bob Neal & Sons Funeral Home Chapel. Service and arrangements by Bob Neal & Sons Funeral Home, Morrilton.
Jack Dahlke
Jack Dahlke, 52, of Petit Jean Mountain died Thursday, May 4, 2000.
A son of E.H. and Augusta Dahlke, he was born in Prescott on Oct. 21, 1947. He was a carpenter and employed by Jim Wallis U.S. Landscaping.
Survivors include one daughter, Jackie Dahlke of Houston; one son, Chad Moore of Morrilton, and two grandchildren.
Memorial services were Monday at the Bob Neal & Sons Funeral Home Chapel with Charles Bane officiating. Service and arrangements by Bob Neal & Sons Funeral Home, Morrilton.
