Gordon Ward
Gordon Ward, 85, of Casa died Friday, Feb. 1, 2002.
He was born April 17, 1916, in Bryant’s Cove, to Andrew J. and Mintie J. McElroy Ward.
He was a farmer, and the widower of Syble Pledger Ward.
Survivors include one son, Bobby G. Ward of Bryant’s Cove; one daughter, Cathy Thomas of Dardanelle; one sister, Helen Bustos, Fresno, Calif.; five grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were Monday, 10 a.m. at Cornwell Chapel in Dardanelle with the Rev. Denver Robinson and the Rev. Bobby Wells officiating.
Burial was at Bryant’s Cove Cemetery.
Arrangements were by Cornwell Funeral Home, Dardanelle.
Pallbearers were Billy Ward, Phillip Ward, Kenneth Wells, Billy Holmes, Mike Biggs, and Larry Collins.
Ted Hall
Ted D. Hall, age 70, of Conway, Arkansas, formerly of Morrilton, died Sunday, February 3, 2002.
He was born January, 19, 1932, in Scotland, Arkansas, the son of Walter and Gladys Hall.
Ted was a graduate of Clinton High School and then graduated from the University of Arkansas-Monticello with a degree in forestry.
He served in the United States Army during the Korean conflict and was a member of the United Methodist Church.
Ted was employed by the Arkansas State Forestry Commission for several years and retired from Green Bay Packinging, Inc.
Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Ann Johnson Hall; daughters, Debbie Hall and Michelle Hall Harris; son-in-law, Rob Harris of Morrilton; granddaughters, Alison Burnette and Haylee Harris; step-grandchildren, Janna Harris and Justin Harris.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 6, at Harris Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Wm. Christopher Cooper, Dr. Bill Brown and Dr. Dana Thomason officiating.
A private burial will be held at a later date.
Arrangements are by Harris Funeral Home of Morrilton.
Bessie Jackson
Bessie Cates Jackson, age 86, of Morrilton, died Friday, February 1, 2002.
She was born May 13, 1915, in Mulberry, Arkansas, a daughter of Sidney and Lila Ann Maxwell Cates.
Mrs. Jackson was the widow of Arland C. Jackson and member of Blackwell Baptist Church.
Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Allan and Gency Jackson of Rogers and Don and Jana Jackson of Little Rock; sisters, May Rainwater and Faye Deaver, both of Plumerville; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were 10:00 a.m. Monday, February 4, at Harris Chapel with Rev. Dennis Holmes officiating.
Burial was at Plumerville Cemetery by Harris Funeral Home of Morrilton.
Pallbearers were Brent Jackson, A.J. Jackson, Jay Brown, Tim Barnes, Gary Jackson, and Larry Jackson.
Mildred Doss
Mildred Fryer Doss, age 78, of Jerusalem, died Wednesday, January 30, 2002.
She was born March 20, 1923, in Jerusalem, Arkansas, a daughter of William Manie Fryer and Lillie Bell Warren Fryer. Mrs. Doss was the widow of Cleo Doss and of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Jimmy Crye of Springfield.
She was preceded in death by brothers, Marion Drew Fryer, James Noel Fryer, Gene Lafate Fryer, Ernest “Pete” Fryer and John “Bo” Fryer; and sister, Juanita Fryer Campbel.
Funeral services were 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 1, at the Harris Chapel with Rev. A.E. “Bo” Coffman officiating. Burial was at Friendship Cemetery by Harris Funeral Home of Morrilton.
Pallbearers were Earnie Fryer, Johnny Keith Fryer, Jermey Hice, Brad Thompson, Bill Pruitt, and Barney Mills.
