Robert J. "Bob" Lux, Sr., 79, of Paris, died Friday, Feb. 8, 2002.
He was a carpenter, a veteran of World War II, a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Paris and current commander of the American Legion Post 121, Paris; past president of Ozark Square Dance Club, president of Northwest Arkansas Square Dance Association, and past president of Los Angeles Square Dance Club. He was preceded in death by parents, Frank and Margaret (Seidal) Lux and first wife, Geraldine Neumeier Lux.
Rosary was at 7 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 10 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Paris.
Funeral mass was at 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 11 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Paris with burial at St. Joseph Catholic in Paris under the direction of Roller Funeral Home of Paris.
He is survived by his wife, Betty (Zeiler) Lux of Paris; three daughters, Kathleen Davis of Noblesville, Ind.; Terry Jones of Fort Smith and Tammy Howard of Paris; three sons, Robert J. Lux, Jr., of Broken Arrow, Okla., Jay Lux of Macon, Ga., and Alvin Howard of Panama City, Fla.; two sisters, Jean Binz of Subiaco, and Ceil (Lux) Montgomery of Barling; 18 grandchildren, Eric Bachle, Jennifer Ferree, Cynthia Bachle, Christopher Rachle, Michelle Davis, Justin Davis, Jason, Phillip, Ashley, Brandon and Taylor Lux, Matthew and Michael Jones, Courtney, Trey, Brentan and Lyshia Howard and Brittany Hallachec; two great-grandchildren, Trey Ferree and Krystabella Jones.
Pallbearers were John Zeiler, Alan Looney, Bud Jones, John Davis, Ray Jones and Darrin Downs.
Honorary pallbearers were American Legion Post 121 of Paris.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph's School, in Paris, or the American Legion Post 121 of Paris.
Danny Martin
Danny Martin, 43, of Fort Smith died Saturday, Feb. 9, 2002.
He attended First Assembly of God Church in Paris and Christ the King Church in Fort Smith.
Funeral service was at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the First Assembly of God Church in Paris with graveside service at 2 p.m. at Holy Cross cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Murry Funeral Home of Paris.
He is survived by his wife, Dot; two stepsons, Kevin and Dylan Beschoner of Fort Smith; his mother, Elizabeth "Happy" Martin of Paris; three brothes, Dave, Randy and Eric of Paris; one sister, Carla Shields of Russellville.
Pallbearers were David and Eric Martin, Jeff and Ryan Shields, Brandon Martin and Chris Fuller.
Billy Mahl
Billy Gene Mahl, 71, of Branch, died Saturday, Feb. 9, 2002.
He was born Aug. 7, 1930 in Charleston to Richard Mahl and Sue Proppe Mahl. He was a retired supervisor for Whirlpool Corporation in Fort Smith, he was a farmer, a member of the Arkansas Cattlemen's Association and Farm Bureau, and a member of the St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Ratcliff.
Rosary was at 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 11 at Smith Mortuary Chapel in Charleston.
Funeral service was at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 12 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Charleston officiated by Father Harold Heiman OSB with burial at Sacred Heart in Charleston under the direction of Smith Mortuary of Charleston.
He is survived by his wife, Mona of the home; one daughter, Debbie Lewis of Platteville, Colo.; one son, Mike Mahl of Branch; one sister, Evelyn Pearson of Conway; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Danny Palarino, Greg Lovelace, James Bennett, John Gross, Bryan Gross and Jeff Gross.
Honorary pallbearers were John Lamar, Herman Kessler, Gene Mathews, Boniface Bauer, Gary Stubblefield, and Sam Sneed.
Robert Dooley
Robert "Bob" E. Dooley, 73, of Wenatchee, Wa. died Monday, Dec. 23, 2002.
He was born in August 1929 in Paris to Roland and Anna (Partain) Dooley. In 1946 he went to Oroville to pick apples. He continued to live in Washington until his death. He has been a construction worker at Grand Coulee Dam and was a longtime resident of Douglas County, living in Wenatchee for the past year. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Alene and Kathy.
He is survived by his wife, Floria Dooley; a son, Robert Eugene Dooley of Ephrata; a daughter, Susan of Spokane; three brothers, R. M. Dooley of Subiaco, Arnold Dooley of Pendleton, Or., and Frank Dooley of East Wenatchee.
Burial was in the Wenatchee cemetery under the direction of Jones and Jones Funeral Directors, in Wenatchee, Wa.
Justin Siebenmorgen
Justin Joseph Siebbenmorgen, 78, of Conway, died Thursday.
He was born in Morrison's Bluff June 21, 1924 to the late John and Frances Kleck Siebenmorgen. He was a lifelong resident of Conway, a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, member of CKA, served in the Arkansas Army National Gurad for 16 years, was a former Webelos Scout leader with pack 78 and a member of the Catholic's Knights of America. He graduated from St. Joseph High School and worked 27 years at the International Shoe Company in Conway from where he retired in 1986. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers John and Joe Siebenmorgen and sisters, Felicitas and Dominic Siebenmorgen of the Order of Saint Benedict (OSB).
He is survived by his wife Gertrude; one sister, Hilda Siebenmorgen; daughter, Ann Siebenmorgen; four sons, Paul, David, Ralph and Richard all of Conway; six grandchildren.
Rosary was at 7 p.m. Sunday at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home of Conway.
Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Monday, at St. Joseph Church in Conway with Father Tom Byrne C.S.Sp., D.Min., officiating.
Memorials may be made to the St. Joseph Endowment fund.
Velmar Maier
Velmar "Buck" Maier, 86, of Ozark (formerly of Fort Smith), died Monday, Jan. 13, 2003.
He was born Jan. 22, 1916 in Charleston to John and Addie (Fitzjgerald) Maier. He was retired from Martin Machine Shop. He was an Army Veteran of World War II and he was a Baptist.
Graveside service was at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 15 at U. S. National in Fort Smith under the direction of Smith Mortuary of Charleston and officiated by Rev. Brad Stovall.
He is survived by one daughter, Patsy Reagan of Ozark; one sister, Imogene Allen of Fort Smith; six grandchildren; three step grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
Kevin Bolin
Kevin Bolin, 25, of Charleston, died Thursday, Jan. 16, 2003.
He was born on June 16, 1977 in Bastrop, La. He was a bull rider before becoming disabled. He attended the Assembly of God Church in Charleston.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 18 at Assembly of God Church in Charleston officiated by Rev. Terry Scott and Rev. Everett Beason with burial at Caulksville cemetery under the direction of Smith Mortuary.
He is survived by father, Kenny Bolin of Crossett; mother and step-father, Anna and Ronnie Kindrix of Charleston; grandparents, Rev. Everett and Bernice Beason of Sonora, Calif.; two sisters, Kimberly Booker of Hermitage, and Kelly Carter of Dardanelle; one step-sister, Carie Kindrix of Fort Smith; two brothers, Kerry Bolin of Magazine, and Kristopher Bolin of Charleston; three step-brothers, Wayne Kindrix of Oklahoma City, Daniel Kindrix of Geary, Okla., and Nathan Kindrix of Charleston.
Pallbearers were Wayne, Daniel and Nathan Kindrix, James Shaw, James McKinney, Dillan Gilbert, Tony and Leonard Rodriquez.
Rev. Gorman Daniel
Rev. Gorman K. Daniel, 87, of Midway, died Saturday, Jan. 18, 2003 at St. Vincent's Infirmary in Little Rock.
The son of the late John D. and Chlodesa Tennie (Patterson) Daniel, he was born Nov. 4, 1915 in Lamar. He married
Imogene Siota Stumbaugh on March 25, 1934 at Holman Community, with whom he celebrated over 68 years of marriage. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a son, Ronnie Franklin Daniel; three brothers; and two sisters. Rev. Daniel was an ordained minister of the Assemblies of God, who retired after having served four terms with the Midway Assembly of God from 1942-1983. In all, his ministry spanned a period of 67 years. He also served as Executive Presbyter of the Assemblies of God for 14 years. Rev. Daniel's entire ministry was served in the state of Arkansas with the exception of three years in the state of Tennessee. The bulk of his ministry was served at Midway Assembly of God over a period of 32 years. Rev. and Mrs. Daniels went on several mission trips to Latin America during this time as well. He ministered widely to the community. He has conducted many wedding and funerals for families that are not a part of his church, and held Memorial Day Services at various locations, as well as preaching at several other denominations.
He is survived by his wife, Imogene Stumbaugh Daniel of Subiaco; three sons, James D. Daniel of Cordele, Ga., Lawrence K. Daniel of Van Buren, and Dewey L. Daniel of Van Buren; four daughters, Dorothy Davison of Subiaco, W. June Daniel of Little Rock, Linda P. France of Little Rock, and Mary Katherine "Kay" Andler of Jasper, In.; one brother, James Burrell Daniel of Knoxville; one sister, Mary Katherine Green of Palmdale, Calif.; 13 grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and four step-great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 22 at the First Assembly of God Church in Paris, officiated by Rev. Bobby Johnson and Rev. C. L. Haston. Graveside services are scheduled for 2 p.m. at Annie's Chapel cemetery at Hagarville. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Humphrey Funeral Service of Russellville.
His grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
Stephens Green
Stephens Dale Green, 75, of Subiaco, died Monday, March 10, 2003.
He was a retired automobile mechanic and a veteran of the U. S. Navy. He was preceded in death by parents, John Ray and Ella Louise (Stephens) Green.
Graveside service and burial was at 2 p.m. Friday, March 14 in the McKendree cemetery in Subiaco under the direction of Roller Funeral Homeo of Paris.
He is survived by two daughters, Stephanie Wosmansky and Pattie Stout, both of St. Charles, Mo., one sister, Virginia Doom of Paris; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
