Larry Gene Windly, 70, a resident of Marshall, died Sunday, December 5, 2010, at his home.
He was born January 9, 1940, in Marshall to Virgel Horace and Correne Ruth Cohey Windly.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Marshall.
Larry was a civil engineer in several different states.
Some of his work projects included the California Aqueduct, the Mississippi River Bridge, highway construction in Arkansas, and numerous water and sewage treatment plants in Mississippi, Arkansas, Alabama and Tennessee.
He was an avid pilot and enjoyed golfing, fishing and camping.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Jon Gregory Windly and a brother, Gary Wayne Windly.
He is survived by a niece, Deborah Dawn Olson of Frisco, Texas; a nephew, Douglas Wayne Windly of Atlanta, Georgia; former wife, Nancy Windly of Marshall; several cousins and other relatives and friends.
A family conducted memorial service will be held 10:00 A.M. Saturday, December 18, 2010, at the Harriett Assembly of God with the Rev. Rick Montgomery officiating.
Memorials may be made to Rock Creek Cemetery Association.

Joseph "Joe" Sorzickas

Joseph “Joe” Sorzickas, 82, a resident of Mountain Home, passed Tuesday, December 14, 2010, at the Hospice of the Ozarks Hospice House.
He was born September 29, 1928, at Waukegan, Illinois to Sever and Tillie Petkus Sorzickas. Joe retired from OMC Outboard Motors after 32 years of service.
He also worked at Village Beach Park in the Sanitation Department for 20 years.
He loved spending time fishing and woodworking projects.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Geraldine Sorzickas and a nephew, Timothy Rossmann.
Survivors include his wife, Terry Sorzickas of Mountain Home; a daughter, Jill Hanover (Brian) of Kenosha, Wisconsin; a brother-in-law, Tim Rossmann (Deb) of Antioch, Illinois; three grandchildren, Jenna Lynch of Kenosha, Wisconsin, Jace Lynch (Sarah) of Beach Park, Illinois and Scott Hanover of Kenosha, Illinois; a great grandson, Aiden Lynch of Beach Park, Illinois and other relatives and friends.

Leon Oels
August 31, 1941 - September 23, 2011
Leon Oels, 70, a resident of Good Samaritan Society in Mountain Home since 2007 passed away Friday September 23, 2011, at Mountain Home.
He was born in Mountain Home on August 31, 1941, to John F. and Anna Mae Cox Oels.
Leon graduated from Mountain Home High School and joined the Marines, serving during the Vietnam War.
After being discharged, Leon returned to Mountain Home and worked at Starlight Drive In and Roller Rink.
He also worked construction, set water pumps with his brother and was a plumber.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and a sister.
Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Melody and Mike Miron, Micky and Greg DeYoung and Pam Caple; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Lois and Bob Hopper and Yvonne and Dave Ross; a sister-in-law; six grandchildren; three nephews; three nieces; and special friends, Juanita and John, Rebecca and Richard, Brenda, Charlene and Don and everyone at Good Samaritan Society.
A graveside memorial service will be held at 2:00 P.M., Sunday, October 2, 2011, at the Lower Oakland Cemetery, County Road 390, Mountain Home with Mr. Wayne Camp officiating.
Music will be provided by the Oakland Church of Christ Acappella group.

Paul B. Schindler, 94, a resident of Mountain Home passed away Friday, September 23, 2011, in Mountain Home.
He was born October 22, 1916, in Nashville, Kansas, to Moritz and Emma Orthmeier Schindler.
Mr. Schindler was a machinist for the Don Dye Company in Kingman, Kansas for 38 years.
He married Evelyn Thiel on February 28, 1940 in Kingman, Kansas.
After retiring, Mr. Schindler and his wife, Evelyn moved to Mountain Home in 1993 from Kingman, Kansas.
He was a member of the Redeemer Lutheran Church in Mountain Home.
He enjoyed golfing and gardening.
Mr. Schindler is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Max Schindler and Emil Orthmeier and two sisters, Frieda Walker and Selma Keimig.
Survivors include his wife of 71 years, Evelyn Schindler of Mountain Home; two daughters, Nancy Russel of Wichita, Kansas and Betty Weaver of Mountain Home; seven grandchildren, Derek, Darren, Dammon, Devin and Danine Oxedine, Ronald Weaver II and Todd Weaver; numerous great grandchildren and other relatives and friends.
The funeral will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 27, 2011, at the Conner-Hankins Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. John Easterling officiating.
Burial will be private under the direction of Conner-Hankins Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Monday, September 26, 2011 at the funeral home.
Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Eulaine Caldwell, 83 a resident of Mountain Home, formerly of Deerborn Heights, Michigan, passed away Thursday, September 22, 2011, in Mountain Home.
She was born January 22, 1928, in Casco, Michigan, to Burton Albert and Blanche Mae Coppock Rumsey.
Eulaine moved to Mountain Home in 2009 from Michigan.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Betty Benton and Mildred Burton; and a brother, Allen Rumsey.
Survivors include two daughters, Marilyn Thomas of Weaverville, North Carolina and Nancy Barela of Ecorse, Michigan; a brother, Howard Rumsey of Mountain Home; five grandchildren and other relatives and friends.

Carrie Diane Drake, 49, a resident of Mountain Home passed away, Thursday, September 22, 2011, at the Hospice of the Ozarks Hospice House.
She was born in Phoenix, Arizona, on April 27, 1962, to Dean and Virginia (Carver) Drake. She had a great love of the ocean and was able to see much of the world working as a chef on private yachts.
A long time member of the Special Olympics, she also served as a former Director of the Ozark Community Home.
She was a foster parent for several years and, in her last years, was a devoted caretaker of the elderly.
In her work and in her life, she touched lives of all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her infant sister, Julie Drake.
Survivors include her father and mother, Dean and Virginia (Carver) Drake of Mountain Home; a brother, Daniel Drake of Mountain Home; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Denise Pearson-Bethea and Bill Bethea of Conway, Lisa and Tim Wicker of Benton and Jennifer Drake of Los Angeles, California; ten nieces and nephews, Steven Drake (Bethany), Derrek Pearson (Carmen Holt), Tyler Pearson, Blake Pearson, Hannah Pearson, Spencer Pearson, Sarah Tarleton (Adam), Caleb Wicker, Rachel Wicker, and Tessa Wicker; and a great-nephew, Hayden Drake.
