Roy Schuhmacher, 86, a resident of Mountain Home passed away Wednesday, September 21, 2011, at his residence.
He was born January 20, 1925, in Amana, Iowa to George and Lina Roemia Schuhmacher. Mr Schuhmacher was a veteran of the United States Navy and served on the USS Walke Destroyer 723 during World War II. After his service in the United States Navy, Mr. Schuhmacher owned his own auto repair shop for several years. He was a 32nd Degree Mason for 53 years and a Shriner for 53 years. Mr. Schumacher and his late wife, Ruth moved to Mountain Home from Amana, Iowa in December of 1984. He was a member of the Mountain Home Baptist Church where he served as head usher. Mr. Schuhmacher was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Ruth Schuhmacher and a daughter, Karen Mary.
Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law, Martin and Janyce Schuhmacher of Marion, Iowa and George Schuhmacher of McPherson, Kansas; a step-daughter and step-son-in-law, Carol and Len Sinkus of Little Rock; a step-son and step-daughter-in-law, Jerry and Lois Wessale of Grays Lake, Illinois; a sister, Anne Freshour of Amana, Iowa; a brother and sister-in-law, Henry and Rose Marie Schuhmacher of Middle Amana, Iowa; five grandchildren; six great grandchildren and other relatives and friends.
The funeral will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, September 30, 2011, at the Conner-Hankins Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Thomas Cunningham and the Rev. Bill Hughes officiating. Military honors will be provided by the American Legion Alley White Post # 52 and the United States Navy and Masonic funeral service will be provided by the Mountain Home Masonic Lodge # 225 F. & A.M. Burial will be in Kirby’s Tucker Memorial Cemetery near Mountain Home under the direction of Conner-Hankins Funeral Home.
Active pallbearers will be Len Sinkus, Steve Towery, Frank Eggleston, Alton Harrison, Charlie Holder and Dick Kwarcinski. Honorary pallbearers will be the members of his Sunday school class at Mountain Home Baptist Church.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, September 29, 2011, at the funeral home. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday.
Memorials may be made to the Mountain Home Baptist Church Building Fund.

Christopher Lee Chapman, 17, a resident of Mountain Home passed away Thursday, June 14, 2012, in Bull Shoals.
He was born May 10, 1995, to Kaylon Jason Chapman and Dawn Marie Snurr Harper. Christopher enjoyed playing on the computer, video games and guitar. He was a very good artist and writer, especially poems.
Survivors include his Father, Kaylon Chapman of Mountain Home; his mother, Dawn Harper (Robert Matthew) of Bull Shoals; a brother, Jason Smith of Statham, Georgia; a sister, Kristi Chapman of Mountain Home; paternal grandparents, Lonnie and Ramona Chapman of Gassville; maternal grandfather, Joseph Snurr, Sr. (Theresa) of Cotter; maternal grandmother, Sandra Snurr of Maryland; numerous aunts and uncles and other relatives and friends. Christopher was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Barbara Chapman.
The funeral will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 20, 2012, at the Conner-Hankins Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Roger Pittaway officiating. Burial will be in Quality Ridge Cemetery near Mountain Home under the direction of Conner-Hankins Funeral Home.
Visitation will be 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday at Conner-Hankins Funeral Home with the family receiving friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Daniel Thomas Cantrall, 55, a resident of Mountain Home, Arkansas passed away Saturday, June 16, 2012, at Baxter Regional Medical Center.
He was born August 14, 1956, in El Monte, California to the late John Leonard and Margaret Frieda Martin Cantrall. Daniel loved collecting coins and antiques and fishing. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.
Survivors include his fiancé, Christy Newcomber; six sons, Randy Cantrall of Beaumont, California, Daniel Cantrall of Kensington, Kansas, Michael Cantrall of Kent, Washington, Beau-James Cantrall of Cabazon, California, and James Cantrall of Sacramento, California and Jacob Smith of Mountain Home; three daughters, Breanna Cantrall of Sacramento, California, Barbara Cantrall of Las Vegas, Nevada and Samantha Smith of Mountain Home; five brothers; a sister; a granddaughter, Aabrea Brown of Sacramento, California and other relatives and friends.

Glen Jarrett Steely, 77, a resident of Mountain Home passed away Sunday, June 17, 2012, in Mountain Home.
He was born March 17, 1935, in Waterloo, Iowa to the late Clinton C. and Faye Monroe Steely. Mr. Steely grew up on a farm outside of Manchester, Iowa and was the youngest of five boys. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps in the 1st Marine Division serving during the Korean Conflict. While in the service, Glen served nine months in Korea and achieved the rank of Sergeant in just 28 months. After his military service, Glen spent most of his career in industrial sales for Westinghouse. He married Sandra Louise Conyers on June 12, 1999, in Mesquite, Nevada. Mr. Steely relocated to the Mountain Home area from Grand Junction, Colorado in 2001. He was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge No. 1953.
Mr. Steely was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Dean, Dale and Gordon Steely and a step brother, John Parkinson.
Survivors include his wife of 13 years, Sandra Steely of Mountain Home; two daughters and a son-in-law, Lisa and Tom Blough of Stow, Massachusetts and Dana Kinchen of Arlington, Texas; a stepson and step daughter-in-law, Rick and Michele Spangler of Bedford, Indiana; two grandchildren, Corey and Carley Kinchen, both of Arlington, Texas; his four legged friend, Buddy; numerous nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, June 23, 2012, at the Conner-Hankins Funeral Home Chapel with Father Jim McDonald officiating. Military Honors will be provided by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Ozark Post 3246. Arrangements are under the direction of Conner-Hankins Funeral Home.

Kenneth Howard Helton, 76, a resident of Bull Shoals passed away Monday, June 18, 2012, in Mountain Home.
He was born November 22, 1935, in Findley, Illinois to Howard and Rose Violet Helton. He married Lorelei Florer on June 28, 1968 in Chicago, Illinois.
Kenneth is survived by his wife of 43 years, Lorelei; two daughters, Vikki Burgett (Mike) of Newark, CA and Kathleen Golick (Michael) of Mundelein, IL; one brother, Kerry Helton (Linda) of Decatur, IL; two grandsons, Robert Shaw (Sandy) of Newark, CA and Joshua Golick of Lake Villa, IL; a great granddaughter, Mikayla Golick and a great grandson, Drake Golick, both of Lake Villa, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Dewey Kenneth “D.K” “Red” Coons, 92, a resident of Isabella, Missouri formerly of Kansas City, Kansas passed away Wednesday, June 20, 2012, at the Baxter Regional Medical Center.
He was born August 19, 1919, in Kansas City, Kansas to the late Paul Dewey and Lillian Marie Dunn Coons. Red married Marietta Pollard on March 1, 1946, in Kansas City, Kansas. He was a veteran of the United States Army. After his military service, Red was a superintendent for General Motors Company for 16 years. Red relocated to Isabella, Missouri after retiring in 1961. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Marietta Pollard; two brothers, Marvin and Jack Coons and a sister, Betty Evelyn Coons.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Cheryl Coons of Kansas City, Missouri; a sister Yvonne Russell of Theodosia, Missouri; four grandchildren, Linda Jepson of Carney, Missouri, Tracy Vogel of Kansas City, Kansas, Kenneth Coons of St. Joe, Missouri and Julie Coons of Kansas City, Kansas; a special friend, Ruth Klapat of Gainesville, Missouri; numerous nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.

Lee G. Hammond, 92, a resident of Mountain Home passed away Tuesday, August 21, 2012, in Mountain Home.
He was born February 13, 1920, in Chicago, Illinois to the late Lee V. and Georgette Durant Hammond. Mr. Hammond was a Sergeant in the United States Army Air Corp during World War II. After his military service he attended the University of Illinois and then was an electrician for Meyercord in Carol Stream, Illinois. He married Maggie L. Swanson on September 29, 1945, in Chicago, Illinois. In 2009 Mr. and Mrs. Hammond relocated to Mountain Home from Des Plaines, Illinois. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Maggie Hammond of Mountain Home; a son, Denis Hammond of Mountain Home; two grandchildren, Justin L. Hammond of Genoa City, Wisconsin and Ginger L. Hammond of Greeneville, Tennessee and two great grandchildren, Nicole and Nathan Hammond, both of Genoa City, Wisconsin.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Saturday, August 25, 2012, at the Conner-Hankins Funeral Home.

Robert G. Moore, 69, a resident of Whiteville passed away Tuesday, August 21, 2012, at his residence.
He was born January 6, 1943, in Hornell, New York to the late Harold and Eileen Pearl Boyd Moore. Robert graduated in 1960 from the University of Connecticut as a certified welder. After working as a welder for several years Robert returned to the University of Connecticut where he graduated in 1970 from the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources as a farrier. He relocated to Gassville from Hornell, New York in 1981 continuing his work as a farrier for Cox Western World and then Trimble Stables. Robert worked as a farrier for over 40 years. He loved making horseshoe art, building smokers and grills and barbecuing for family and friends. Robert was a friend of Bill W for over 31 years. He was preceded in death by his parents and a son Robert George Moore, Jr.
Survivors include his fiancé, Suzie Worsley of Whiteville; his daughter, Amy Beatty of Mountain Home; a brother, John Moore of Wyoming; three grandchildren, Damon, Kiley and Allie Berry, all of Mountain Home and two nephews, Brian and Chris Moore, both of Montana.

He was born February 8, 1992, in Poteau, Oklahoma to John David and Brenda Lynn Johnson Barnes. Ethan was a 2010 graduate of Norfork High School where he played basketball, baseball and track. He loved fishing, camping, hiking and just being outdoors. Ethan was preceded in death by his father.

Robert M. “Bob” Berry, 65, a resident of Mountain Home passed away Tuesday, August 28, 2012, in Mountain Home.
He was born October 24, 1946, in Malvern Arkansas to the late John M. “Toby” and Dorothy Davis Berry. Bob worked as an independent commercial real estate broker and developer and was the former owner of the Ramada Inn in Paragould. He relocated to Mountain Home in 2006 from Little Rock and Horn Lake, Mississippi. Bob married Virginia Ann Brooks on July 3, 2007, in Yellville. He was a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason and a Shriner.
Bob is preceded in death by his parents and a granddaughter, Faith Opal Berry.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia Berry of Mountain Home; a son, Robert Jr. “Buster” Berry of Little Rock. a sister and brother-in-law; Peggy and Don Alpe of Bryant; two grandchildren, Hunter and Caleb Berry, both of Little Rock.
