J. Mike Sharum, 91, of Fort Smith, died Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2001, in an area nursing home. He was a retired farmer, past Farm Bureau Farmer of the Year and a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church. He was the brother of Father Peter Sharum, O.S.B., of Charleston. Rosary was recited Friday at 7 p.m. at Putman Funeral Home. Mass was Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. Boniface Catholic Church, with burial at Holy Cross Cemetery in Fort Smith. She was a member of First Assembly of God Church in Sand Springs and was retired from Cloth World, where she was employed as a sales associate and craft consultant. She was the widow of Brooklyn Sherrell. Funeral services were Tuesday at 10 a.m. at First Assembly of God in Sand Springs. Graveside services were at 4:30 p.m. at Sherrellville Cemetery, with arrangements by Mobley-Dodson Funeral Home.

Carl Lee Hobbs, 87, of Lindsay, Calif., formerly of Franklin County, died Sunday, Oct. 21, 2001, in Lindsay. He was a resident of Tulare County area for 66 years and farmed in the Lindsay/Strathmore/Exeter areas and owned a store in Plainview before his retirement. He was the brother of the late Velma Alston of Ozark. Graveside services were Friday at 2 p.m. at Woodville Cemetery, Woodville, Calif. Burial was under the direction of Myers Funeral Service of Porterville.
