William Campbell, III, 53, of Sulphur, La. died Thursday, Jan. 16, 2003.
He was an electrical engineer.
Funeral services were held Thursday, Jan. 23 at Murry Funeral Home of Paris.
He is survived by three sons, Spencer Campbell of Chicago, Matthew Campbell of Lasalle, Ill., and William Campbell of Paris; two sisters, Jane Linder of Tyler, Tex., and Cay Ferguson of Tampla, Fl.; one grandchild; and the mother of his children, Laura Neal of Greenwood.
Lee Gill
Lee R. Gill, 69, of Paris, died Monday, Feb. 3, 2003.
He was a member of First Assembly of God Church in Paris. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and worked in horticulture and concrete yard ornaments.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 5 at Roller Chapel in Paris with a Masonic graveside service in Baxley cemetery in Paris under the direction of Roller Funeral Home of Paris.
He is survived by his wife, Georgia (Durbin) Gill of Paris; one daughter, Deborah Plunkett of Greenwood; one son, Theron Lee Gill of Pocola, Okla.; one step-daughter, Anna Blodgett of Atlanta, Ga.; one step-son, Bill Mikles of Paris; two sisters, Edith Phelps of Wilburton, Okla., and Lily Fargo of Muldrow, Okla.; one brother, Donald Gill of Oklahoma City; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Stuart Reed, Aaron Bobbitt, Brandon Mikles, Ryan Mikles, Terry Blodgett, and Gary Warwick.
Honorary pallbearers will be Seth Gill, Jeff Leding and Jim Mikles.
Shirley Morrison
Shirley Ann Morrison, 54, of Magazine, died Sunday, Dec. 29, 2002.
She was born July 18, 1948 in Paris. She was a homemaker and attended the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness Church in Booneville.
Memorial services were Saturday, Jan. 11 at 1 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness in Booneville under the direction of Roberts Funeral Home of Booneville.
She is survived by her father, James Hutto of Hardy; one son, Dean Morrison of the home; two step-daughters, Marlene Brown and Phyllis Lewis both of Booneville; two brothers, Donald Hutto and Jimmy Hutto both of Illinois; two sisters, Cynthia Guinto of Illinois and Sylvia Aldridge of Iowa.
Charles Bowen
Charles O. Bowen, 75, of Paris, died Thursday, Jan. 9, 2003.
He was a retired factory worker from Ayers Furniture. He was preceded in death by parents, Rube and Elsie (Miles) Bowen.
Cremation was under the direction of Roller Funeral Home of Paris.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara (Carroll) Bowen of Paris; two daughters, Ruby McAlister of Paris and Margarette Brown of Fort Smith; one son, Galen Bowen of Paris; one sister, Dula Mae Buck of Paris; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Brother Benedict Silva, O.S.B.
Brother Benedict Silva, O.S.B., 75, of Subiaco (formerly of Belize, Central America) died Friday, Jan. 10, 2003.
He was a Monk of Subiaco Abbey is Subiaco, 47 years in his monastic profession. In 1954 Jose Silva came to the United States and to Subiaco where he professed his vows as a monk Of our monastery on the feast of St. Benedict, March 21, 1956 receiving the name of Benedict. Brother Benedict first served the community on the Abbey farm and dairy until 1956 when he was assigned to the abbey kitchen. In his spare time he built religious shrines on the abbey grounds and in the ridges. Gathering scrap materials from the abbey farm, he once fashioned a marimba and played the musical instrument for the enjoyment of his confreres. He went back to Belize on Sept. 8, 1971, and became one of the founding monks at Santa Familia Monastery. When the new monastery was completed in 1978. Brother Benedict played a major role in landscaping the grounds. He was recalled to the Subiaco Abbey in 1999 to retire from his many years of dedicated service in Belize.
The Wake was at 7 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 12 at the St. Benedict Catholic Church in Subiaco.
Liturgy of Christian burial was at 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 13 at St. Benedict Catholic Church in Subiaco. Interment was in the Abbey cemetery under the direction of Roller Funeral Home of Paris.
Dr. Susan Kennon-Williams
Dr. Susan Kennon-Williams, DMD, 63, of Louisville, Ky. passed away Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2002.
She was the former Susan Kennon and a native of Paris. She was a professor of dentistry at the University of Louisville School of Dentistry. She was an acting director of Jefferson County Board of Health Dental Program, a mentor for dental school students and a member of the American Dental Society, the Kentucky Dental Society, the Arkansas Dental Society, Delta Gamma Sorority at the University of Arkansas and K.I.C.K.S.
She was preceded in death by her father, Dr. Roy H. Kennon, DDS, of Paris.
Funeral service was at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 22 at Bosse Funeral Home in Louisville with committal service at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 23, 2002 at Resthaven Memorial Park.
Survivors include: her husband, James S. Williams; two daughters, Sara S. Williams and Ann Marie Williams; her mother, Marie Ogden Kennon; a sister, Lorene Kennon-Hollingsworth and a granddaughter, McKenzie A.S. Shelton.

Ruth Hancock
Ruth Hancock, 89, of Paris passed away Wednesday, Dec. 25, 2002.
She was born October 15, 1913 in Chismville, AR and retired in 1975 as a first grade teacher after teaching forty years. She was listed in Outstanding Elementary Teachers of America, a member of Arkansas Teachers Association and National Education Association since 1938 and since retirement a member of Arkansas Retired Teachers. A member of the Logan County Library Board, a charter member of Alpha Theta Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma, a member of the Paris Business & Professional Women's Club since 1942, where she served in every office and on all standing committees. She served as State Legislative Chairman in 1963 and was named Woman of the Year in 1972. A member of the First Baptist Church, Paris, she taught junior and intermediate girls for many years, was a member of the Business Women's Circle of the church and a substitute teacher for the Women's Adult Class.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William T. Hancock and Mary (Simmons) Hancock and three sisters, Lurlin McCubbin, May Hancock, and Hazel Kimberling.
Funeral service was held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, Dec. 30 at First Baptist Church will burial in Springhill cemetery in Chismville under the direction of Roller Funeral Home in Paris.
Survivors include two sisters, Dahlia Hancock and Mary Sue McCubbin of Paris; one brother, Neil Hancock of El Paso, Tex., 17 nieces and nephews, 20 great nieces and nephews and 16 great great nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Mike Moffett, Larry Robinson, Leon Askins, Billy Featherston, Donald J. McCubbin and Don Kimberling.
Visitation was held from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 29 at Roller Funeral Home in Paris.

Tina Benson
Tina Benson, 80 of Paris passed away on Saturday, Dec. 21, 2002. She was of the Christian faith and was preceded in death by her husband, Burley Benson, her parents, John and Betty Spicer, and a son, Jimmy Benson.
Funeral services was held on Monday, Dec. 23 at Murry Funeral Home Chapel with burial at McKendree Cemetery.
She is survived by one son, Doyle Benson of Paris; one daughter, Martha Bradley of Paris; one brother, Ray Spicer of Texas; one sister, Mary Doom of Farmington, Ark., six grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Todd Durning, Chanley Chambers, Ronnie Bradley, Jason Bradley, Billy Benson and James Benson.
Ruth Elizabeth McCollester Oakes
Ruth Elizabeth McCollester Oakes, 89, of Coles Chapel Community passed away Monday, Dec. 23, 2002 in a local nursing home.
She was born October 3, 1913 in California, Mo. to Emmett Robert and Clara Elizabeth Bueker McCollester. Widow of Warren Wayne Oakes. She was confirmed in the Evangelical Church in California, Mo. The family moved to Franklin County in 1944 near Ratcliff and soon joined the Coles Chapel Methodist Church. She was an active member of the Logan and Franklin County Home Demonstration Clubs and the PTA in the Ratcliff School.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, W.W. Oakes, a grandson, Robby Young and two great grandsons, Lelan Warren and Cort Waine Young, one brother, Ray Franklin McCollester and a brother-in-law, W.O. White, Sr.
Funeral services were held Friday, Dec. 27 at 2:00 p.m. at the Coles Chapel Methodist Church with Rev. Arlene and Pichard Pickett, Rev. Jimmie Robison and Rev. J.L. Bonds officiating. Burial was at Coles Chapel, south of Branch, under the direction of Smith Mortuary of Charleston.
She is survived by one daughter, Carol Ann and her husband, J.D. Young of the Coles Chapel Community; one sister, Dorothy May McCollester White of Roseville, Calif., two brothers, E.R. McCollester Jr. and his wife Annabeth McCollester of Ft. Smith, W.B. McCollester and Kathryn McCollester of North Dartmouth, Mass., one sister-in-law, Billie Weis of Roland, Okla.; five grandchildren, Jay and his wife Brenda Young, Steve Young, Lory Young, Luane and her husband Britt Hatcher and Libby and her husband Lewis Rangel; eight great grandchildren, Arie and Tori Hatcher, Olivia and Valarie Rangel, Tyler, Jay Paul, Kyle and Levi Young.
Pallbearers were Kevin Conkin, Dwayne Hopkins, Clinton Bottoms, Joe Clayton, Philip Coget and Ron LaChappelle. Honorary pallbearers were Tyler Young, Jay Paul Young, Kyle Young, Todd Patterson, Jimmie Patterson, Dwight Cole and Sonny Cole.
Visitation was held Thursday night, Dec. 26 from 6:00 to 8:00 at the funeral home.
Wynema Fairbanks
Wynema Mae Fairbanks, 68, of Paris, died Sunday, Nov. 17, 2002 in Wichita, Kan.
She was born May 9, 1934 in Driggs. She was a Baptist and a member of Central Logan Water and Wynema's Country Cafe, Paris. She was preceded in death by parents, Lennie G. Graham, Sr. and Vernia O. (Storts) Graham; one daughter, Debra Lynn Fairbanks; one sister, Shirley Louise Fairbanks; five brothers, Horace, Harold, Alvin, W. D. and Orville Graham.
Funeral service was at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 20 at Roller Funeral Home Chapel of Paris with burial in Liberty cemetery in Driggs under the direction of Roller Funeral Home of Paris.
She is survived by her husband, B.M. (Reece) Fairbanks of Magazine; two sons, Danny and Don Fairbanks of Paris; one daughter, Anita Valentine; one sister, Juanita Lowder of Booneville; one brother, Lennie (Sonny) Graham, Jr. of Magazine; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Larry Lowder, Marvin Cameron, Roger Jones, Ray Jones, Jim Richardson, Jackie Graham, Larry Jones, and Darrell Hooper.
Honorary pallbearers were Edgar Holt, Virgil Hughes, Donald Friddle and Mitchell Hooper.
