Mary Etta Brown, 92, of Paris, died Monday, Nov. 18, 2002.
She was a homemaker, a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Paris and affiliated with the Garden Club. She was preceded in death by husband, Jimmy Brown; parents, Isaac Mullings and Viola Roberts Mullings.
Funeral service was at 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 21 in the Roller Chapel in Paris with burial in Elizabeth Hall cemetery in New Blaine under the direction of Roller Funeral Home of Paris.
She is survived by one sister, Alice Adams of Paris.
Pallbearers were Gary Horne, Gordon Trusty, Larry Parsons, Lindell Parsons, Carl Hankins, Bob Rogers.
Ausbin Yancy
Ausbin E. Yancy, 90, of Paris, died Monday, Nov. 18, 2002.
He was a farmer and dairyman. He was preceded in death by a son, Jimmy Ted Yancy.
Funeral service was at 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 21 at Roberts Memorial Chapel with burial in Paintrock cemetery near Paris under the direction of Roberts Funeral Home.
He is survived by his wife, Maggie Marie Yancy of the home; one daughter, Connie Brown of Magazine; three stepdaughters, Grace Whitten of Fulton, Ill., Elaine Grigg of Paris, and Quela Cummins of Paris; two stepsons, Butch Faulkner of Paris, Tony Faulkner of Columbia, S. C.; one sister, Wilma Fox of Booneville; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Jack Faulkner, Michael Hughes, Tony Hughes, Tim Allen, David Cummins, Jesse Martine.
Arda Hughes
Arda Ann Hughes, 75, of Magazine, died Monday, Nov. 18, 2002.
She was a Baptist and an assembly line worker for Whirlpool Corp. She was preceded in death by her parents, Marshall and Florence (Mayes) Walker and her husband Joseph Frank Hughes, Sr.
Funeral service was at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 20 at Roller Funeral Home Chapel in Paris with burial at Paint Rock Cemtery in Paris under the direction of Roller Funeral Home of Paris.
She is survived by two daughters, Patricia Ann Hughes of Paris, and Pamela Fern Lewallan of Dardanelle; three sons, Virgil Hughes of Paris, Jospeh Frank Hughes, Jr., of Dyer, Tenn., and Robert Allen Hughes of Driggs; one half-sister, Doris Fowler of New York; three brothers, Milton Walker of Bella Vista, Richard A. Walker of Duncan, Okla., and Paul Walker of Duncan, Okla.; 14 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
Pallbeaers were Jimmy Dale Krigbaum, Ronald Ruby, Herbert R. Daniels, Virgil Faulkner, Marty Lee Gred.

Earl "Sonny" Trusty
Earl Gene "Sonny" Trusty, 62, of Paris, died Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2002.
He was a member and Deacon of First Baptist Church in Paris, secretary of the Adult II Men's Sunday School class and an associate of Wal-Mart for 23 1/2 years. He was preceded in death by parents, Carl Trusty and Mary Mildred (Lievsay) Trusty and granddaughter, Kylee Van Landingham.
Funeral service was at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 23 at the First Baptist Church of Paris with burial in Caulksville cemetery under the direction of Roller Funeral Home of Paris.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Lee (Whitman) Trusty of the home; two daughters, LeJean Smith of Van Buren, and Cheryl Van Landingham of Paris; one sister, Joyce Trusty of Paris; one brother, Donald Trusty of Derby, Kan.; and two grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Mike Whitman, David Whitman, Earl Whitman, Dale Wright, Bill Corley, Donald McCubbin.

Edith Ann Cross Johnson, 62, of Ratcliff, died Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2002.
She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Ozark, and The Order of the Eastern Star. She was born July 18, 1940 in Poteau, Okla to Scafe B. Cross and Helen W. Garner Cross.
Memorial service was at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 23 at Caulksville Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by her husband, Jesse (Dick) Johnson of the home; one daughter, Judy Ann Seay of Ratcliff; two sons, Dan Clark Johnson of Broomfield, Co., and Curt Wayne Johnson of Ceder Park, Tex.; two brothers, Benjamin Cross of Zimmerman, Mn., and Willoughby Cross of Tryon, N.C.; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Jeffrey Scott Buchanan, 27, of Scranton, died Sunday, Nov. 24, 2002.
He was employed at Baldor Electric. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, W. H. Lindsey and Byron W. Buchanan.
Funeral service was at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 26 at Roller-Cox Chapel in Clarksville with burial at Baptist cemetery in Center Valley community, under direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home of Clarksville. The Revs. Clark Snow and Jeff Herderson officiated.
He is survived by one daughter, Lacey Nicole Buchanan of Scranton; two sons, Christopher Lee Buchanan and Jacob Scott Buchanan both of Scranton; parents, Victor Byron and Nancy Lindsey Buchanan of Scranton; one sister, Becky Bull of Perryville; one brother, Russell Byron Buchanan of Scranton; and grandmothers, Ora Lindsey of Sheridan, and Gertrude Buchanan of Russellville.

Edward A. Fritschie, 75, of Fort Smith, died Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2002.
He was a member of Imaculate Conception Catholic Church in Fort Smith, and Knights of Columbus. He was preceded in death by parents, Charles A. and Christine (Schleif) Fritschie and son, Earl Fritschie.
Rosary was at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 13 at Roller Funeral Chapel in Paris.
Mass was at 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 14 at St. Meinrad Catholic Church in Prairie View with burial in St. Meinrad cemetery in Prairie View under the direction of Roller Funeral Home of Paris.
He is survived by his wife, Doris Fox Fritschie of Fort Smith; one daughter, Barbara Fritschie of Alma; three sisters, Hilda Shelby of Fort Smith, Freda Allen of Hackett, and Patsy Siebenmorgan of Scranton; one brother, Robert Fritschie of Pocola, Okla.; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Alethea Smith
Alethea Diana Smith, of Mabelvale, formerly of Paris, died Oct. 17, 2002.
She was born Feb. 27, 1949. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Coleman Smith; son, Charles Wayne Smith; and father, Charlie Melvin Smith.
She is survived by two daughters, Elizabeth Crouch, and Alethea L. Smith; one son, Robert Coleman Smith; mother, Inez Ellen Smith; brother, Melvin A. Smith; and six grandchildren.
Services were by Gunn Funeral Home in Little Rock.
Roy Mitchell
Roy S. Mitchell, 66, of Paris, died Friday, Nov. 8, 2002.
He was preceded in death by his father, Donald G. Mitchell. He was the owner of Polka Poppa Auto Sales, and a veteran of the 125 Infantry Division and of the Protestant faith. He was a member of the Eagles Lodge and Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Graveside service was at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 12 with burial at Caulksville cemetery in Caulksville under the direction of Murry Funeral Home of Paris.
He is survived by his wife, Doris Mitchell of Paris; four daughters, Debbie Schluterman of Paris, Charolette MacDonald of Canterbury, Ct., Cathy Farnam of Paris, and Erica Goodson of Paris; two sons, Roy S. Mitchell Jr., and Michael Mitchell both of Paris; mother, Alice Calabrese of Florida; one sister, Carol Roberts of Southington, Ct.; two brothers, Donald C. Mitchell of Hartford, Ct., and Douglas Mitchell of Southington, Ct.; 17 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were John Farnam, Warren MacDonald, Jody Goodson, Jeff Murray, Hershel Sloan, Mike Snyder, and Mike Kelly.
