Cherri Jean Madden King, 46, of Clarksville died Friday, Sept. 27, 2002.
She was born March 8, 1956, in Newport. She was a registered nurse and a member of the Paris Church of Christ.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Tuesday at First Presbyterian Church in Clarksville with burial at Oakland cemetery in Clarksville under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home of Clarksville.
She is survived by her husband, Pat; a daughter, Kristin King of Clarksville; three sons, Jeremy Dorrough of Bergman, Nick Dorrough of Clarksville and Alex King of Clarksville; her parents, Charlene and Raymond Avery of Paris; a sister, Lesa Thomas of Little Rock; three brothers, Harold Madden of Paragould, John Madden of Palm Bay, Fla. and Scott Avery of Fayetteville.
Pallbeaers were Kent Cecil, Jerry Stumbaugh, George Taylor III, Mike Stone, Ron Taylor and Freeman Wissh.
James Corley
James Talvin Corley, 56, of Blue Mountain, died Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2002.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Lola Mae Corley.
Funeral services were held Friday, Oct 4 at Roberts Memorial Chapel with burial in Havana Cemetery.
He is survived by wife, Debbie Sue Corley of the home; five daughters, Caren Presley and Sharon Self both of the home, April Morris, Lola West and Cathy Lemmond all of Magazine; two sons, Oliver Corley of the home, and James Corley of Blue Mountain; parents, Oliver and Lola Corley of Havana; three sisters, Barbara Sue Canada of Havana, Mary Holly of Rye, and Louise Henderson of Danville; two brothers, Jimmy Ray Corley of Belleville, and Gary Corley of Havana; 14 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Pallbeaers were Joseph Wright, Henry Curry, Justin Million, Mike Million, Jerry Morris, and Eddie Dean Franklin.
Clara House
Clara Ellen House, 82, of Lavaca, died Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2002.
She was born March 5, 1920 at Arbuckle Island in Sebastian County to John Calvin Elkins and Georgia Ann Barnes Elkins. She was a homemaker and a member of First Assembly of God Church in Lavaca. She was preceded in death by her husband Jessie Dalphia House
Funeral service was at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 4 at First Assembly of God Church in Lavaca, the Revs. Mark Rearden, R. L. Grinder and Grant Ethridge officiated, burial was at Measles cemetery in Lavaca under the direction of Smith Mortuary, Inc. of Charleston.
She is survived by five daughers, Delca Hewitt of Springdale, Eunice Waggoner of Fort Smith, Betty Berry of Charleston, Wilma Watson of Paris, and Connie Cox of Lavaca; one son, J. D. House of Lavaca; 17 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbeaers were Alan Bearden, Dennis Waggoner, Delbert Berry, DeWayne Berry, Johnny House, Chris Watson and Dale Berry.
Harold Furstenberg
Harold Theadore Furstenberg, 78, died Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2002 in Robersonville, N. C.
He was retired from the Voice of America and a member of the Holy Trinity Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rose Mary Kerney Furstenberg.
Funeral service was Saturday, Oct. 5 at 10 a.m. at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Williamston, N. C. Burial followed at Martin Memorial Gardens under the direction of Biggs Funeral Home in Robersonville, N.C.
He is survived by two sons, Sonny Furstenberg of Williamston, N. C. and Ted Furstenberg of Ayden, N.C.; five daughters, Jody Jackson of Greenville, N.C., Cathy Bell of Florence, S. C., Karen Sakolsky of Fredericksburg, Va., Alfreda Hagen of Robersonville, N. C., and Tommie Apgar of Farmville, N.C.; three sisters, Dolores Etzkorn and Mary Garrell both of Subiaco, and June Lyons of Fort Smith; two brothers, Richard Furstenberg of Ridgecrest, Calif., and Frank Furstenberg of Paris; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Ethel Blair
Ethel Lee Ratliff Blair, 107, of Charleston, died Sunday, Oct. 6, 2002.
She was born Sept. 23, 1895 at Hickory Ridge Community in Franklin County. She was a cook for Coney Island and the Arlington Hotel. She was also employed at Ward's Furniture Co., in Fort Smith. She was a Baptist. Her parents were Joe Ratliff and Feeley Sweeney Ratliff.
Graveside service was at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 7 officiated by Bro. Herman Stubblefield. Burial was at Tate cemetery northwest of Charleston under the direction of Smith Mortuary of Charleston.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews.
Merle Jones
Merle Irene Ellington Jones, 86, of Magazine, died Sunday, Aug. 25, 2002.
She attended Old Union Presbyterian Church in Magazine. She was preceded in death by parents, Lee and Annie (Elkins) Ellington and husband, Victor E. Jones.
Funeral service was at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 28 in Old Union Presbyterian Church in Magazine with burial in Ellington cemetery in Magazine under the direction of Roller Funeral Home of Paris.
She is survived by two daughters, Marilyn Sue Jones of Magazine and Wilene Jones Rigsby of North Little Rock; two sisters, Audrey Ellington White and Pauline Ellington Longley both of Fort Smith; one brother, Alfred C. Ellington of Dallas, Tex.; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Lila Dycus
Lila Miller Dycus, 91, of Alexandria, La. (formerly of Paris) died Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2002.
She was a homemaker and preceded in death by parents, Jim and Gracie (Wade) Miller; two sons, Homer Lee and Jack Charles Dycus and one daughter, Betty Blalock.
Graveside service and burial was at Hickory Grove cemetery in Paris at 3 p.m. Friday, Aug. 30 under the direction of Roller Funeral Home of Paris.
She is survived by three daughters, Shirley Coney of Little Rock, Nadine Rankin of Houston, Tex., and Delilah Spears of West Monroe, La.; three sons, Leroy Dycus of Merced, Calif., Noah Lee Dycus of Phoenix, Az., and James Lee Dycus of Little Rock; two sisters, Margie Whipple of Paris, and Gladys Canada of Scranton; one brother, Fred Miller of Paris; 29 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were James Dycus, Sr., James Dycus, Jr., James Richard Dycus, Jimmy Rhoades, Woody Beasley and Dee Phillips.
Allene Parks
Allene Wilma Parks, born Feb. 10, 1915 in Hartman died at the age of 87.
She grew up in Scranton graduated from Scranton High School and married
Buster Parks and moved to California in 1949.
She is survived by one son, Larry B. Parks of Martinez, Calif.; one daughter, Phyllis D. Nelson of San Pablo, Calif.; one sister, Jane Ramsey of Paris; 10 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Jeffery Stein
Jeffery Lee Stein, 50, of Branch, died Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2002.
He was a Vietnam veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Jean Stein of Rutherfordton, N.C.; one son, Michael Leach of Rutherfordton, N.C.; four sisters, JoAnne Popowich of Cortland, Ohio, Virginia Harrington, of Springburo, Penn., Janet Stein of Vienna, Ohio, and Marily McBride of Signal Mountain, Tenn.; and one brother, Elmer Stein, Sr. of Cortland, Ohio.
Agnes Walker
Agnes R. Walker, 78, of Paris, died Monday, Sept. 2, 2002.
She was a homemaker and attended St. Joseph Catholic Church of Paris and a member of the Mother's Society. She was preceded in death by parents, Joseph Anton and Ann Margaret (Mertin) Hatwig.
Rosary was at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 4 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Paris.
Mass was at 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 5 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Paris with burial in the St. Benedict cemetery in Subiaco.
She is survived by four daughers, Cathy Patterson and Linda Fairbanks both of Paris, and Louise Cox and Brenda Townsend both of Ratcliff; four sons, Joe, Charles, John and Ed Walker all of Ratcliff; one brother, Ernest Hatwig, of Paris; 17 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Harry Fletcher, Charles Nehus, Robert Smith, Clint Walker, John Walker and Jason Walker.
