Samuel D. Wilson, 62, of Booneville, died Tuesday, July 16, 2002.
He was a bail bondsman for 20 years, a former restaurant owner and worked at the juvenile dentention center for four years, and was a veteran.
Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 18 at Roberts Memorial Chapel with burial in Oak Hill cemetery in Booneville under the direction of Roberts Funeral Home.
He is survived by his wife, Patsy Wilson of the home; two daughters, Darlene Chambers of Booneville and Sandy Wilson of Paris; one sister, Mary Tucker of Alexander City, Ala.; and four grandchildren.
The pallbearers were Craig Davis, Rodney Hitchcock, Norman Wilson, Zane Isaacs, Bo Thomas, and Bob Lovett.
Robert Binyon
Robert Hugh Binyon, 87, of Paris died Sunday, July 28, 2002.
He was a retired coal miner. He was preceded in death by parents Alonzo and Mary Alice (King) Binyon.
Funeral service was at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 30 at Oakwood cemetery in Paris under the direction of Roller Funeral Home of Paris.
He is survived by wife, Erma Faye (Penicks) Binyon; two daughters, Merelene Binyon of Dallas, Tex., and Colene Binyon of Paris; one son, Lonnie Binyon of Charleston; three grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
Mary Carter
Mary Carter, 96, of Paris, died Sunday, July 28, 2002.
She was a member of First Baptist Church of Scranton. She was preceded in death by husband, William Carter; two sons, Travis Carter and Oren Carter; parents, Roscoe and Dela Wells; two sisters, Vera Boyett and Margret Smith; two brothers, Wallace Wells and Robert Wells.
Funeral service was at 10 a.m. Monday, July 29 at First Baptist Church of Scranton with burial at McGeehee cemetery at McGeehee under the direction of Murry Funeral Home of Paris.
She is survived by three daughters, Madell Hice and Lille Douglas both of Paris, and Bobbie Orellana of Memphis; one son, Floyd Carter of Paris; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Ricky Douglas, Bryan Douglas, Jeremy Vassar and Jimmy Douglas.
Verna Budil
Verna Alice "Susie" Budil, 97, of Paris died Sunday, July 28, 2002 in Paris.
She was a homemaker and a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Paris; a member of the Eastern Star and VFW.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Anna (Murray) Atchison and her husband, Jim Budil.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 31 at Roller Chapel in Paris with burial following in Oakwood Cemetery, Paris, under the direction of Roller Funeral Home.
She is survived by one nephew: George Atchison of Fort Worth, Tex.
Pallbearers will be James William Atchison, Tony Atchison, Robert Atchison,, Ralph Reid, Larry Robberson and James Johnson.
Charles Sutter
Charles E. "Bud" Sutter, 80, of Booneville, died Tuesday, July 9, 2002.
He was a retired purchasing agent for Today's Kids in Booneville.
The body was cremated under the direction of Roller Funeral Home of Booneville.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley; one son, Paul of Magazine; one daughter, Marsha Stoner of Fort Smith; and three grandchildren.
Charles Collins
Charles E. "Chic" Collins, 77, of Paris, died Monday, July 8, 2002.
He was retired from the oil field industry and farming. He attended the First Baptist Church in Paris and was preceded in death by parents, Lewis E. and LaVonna (Arr) Collins.
Funeral service was at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 11 at Roller Chapel in Paris with burial in Caulksville cemetery under the direction of Roller Funeral Home of Paris.
He is survived by wife Willene Collins; two daughters, Barbara Appleton of Paris, and Chyrel Colley of Rosenbery, Tex.; two sons, Doug Rhinehart of Modesto, Calif., and Bill Whitman of Arkoma, Okla.; one sister, Mildred Robinsette, of Phoenix, Ariz.; one brother, Cliff Collins of Florida; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Clois Sample
Clois Sample, 59, of New Blaine, died Friday, July 13, 2002.
He was a truck driver. He was preceded in death by Reed and Flossie (Carney) Sample; three sisters, two brothers, and one grandchild.

Ethel Neal
Ethel I. "Jo" Neal, 96, of Fullerton, Calif. (formerly of Paris) died Sunday, July 7, 2002 in California.
She was a homemaker and nurse in New York and California State Hospitals. She was preceded in death by her husband Birk Neal and her parents Cary and Mary (Jackson) (Pingleton) May.
Graveside service was at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 16 at Hickory Ridge cemetery with burial at Hickory Ridge in Lavaca under the direction of Roller Funeral Home of Paris.
She is survived by one daughter, Patricia Morgenthaler of Fullerton, Calif.; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
M. Ray Frost
M. Ray Frost, 69, of Fort Smith, died Sunday, March 17, 2002.
He was born March 15, 1933 in Magazine and was a retired Assembly of God minister. He was also retired head of security for Fifth Seasons Inn, and a member of Cliff Terrace Assembly of God.
Funeral service was at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 21 at Cliff Terrace Assembly of God with burial at Cross cemetery in Greenwood under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel of Fort Smith.
He is survived by his wife Freeda of the home; one foster daughter, Sharon Hagamier of Fort Worth, Tex.; two sons, Michael of Benton, and the Rev. Darrell Frost of Humboldt, Tenn.; two sisters, Reba "Sis" Buck of Muldrow, Okla., and Erma Sue Brown of Paris; four brothers, Carlan of Roland, Okla., Doyle of Charleston, Darwin of Branch, and Raymond of Greenwood; three grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; three foster grandchildren; and one step-great-great-grandchild.
Pallbearers were Justin and Joshua Frost, Harold Pike, Bob Pike, Hoyt Ming, and Kenneth Williams.
James Snow
James E. Snow, 78, of Kenai, Ak., a native of Dublin, died Thursday, March 14, 2002 at Heritage Place in Soidotna, Ak.
Funeral services were Monday, March at Penisula Memorial Chapel in Kenai, Ak. The Rev. Chuck Thornton officiated. Burial was in the Kenai City Cemetery.
Snow was born Jan. 19, 1924 in Dublin. He served in the US Navy during World War II. He moved to Kenai in 1969 from Arkansas and returned to Arkansas and worked on dredges and for the Highway Department there before retiring and moving to Nikiski, Ak. in 1974. He workded as a roustabout in the Cook Inlet Oilfield and also as a bull cook in Valdez. He was a member of the VFW and American Legion.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Ruby Woods and a granddaughter, Karrie Garner.
He is survived by his wife, Lula Mae of Soldotna, Ak. a son, Tom Snow of Soldotna, Ak., daughters, Gladys Deer of Soldotna, Ak. Diana Garner of Dardanelle, Sherry Terrell of Corpus Christi, Tex.; brother, Howard Snow of Little Rock; sister, Velva Dean Crouch of Little Rock; 11 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. Arrangements were made by Peninsula Memorial Chapel.
