William Henderson

William G. "Bill" Henderson, 79, died Friday at the Mennonite Home.
He was born in Paris, he was the son the late D. Leland and Chessie Lee Cannon Henderson. He was preceded in death by a son, Thomas M. Henderson.
He moved to Lancaster, Penn. in 1949 to work at the former RCA Corp., retiring in 1986. He spent time in Grenada on a church work mission, where he helped build a new church parsonage. He was an Army Air Forces Veteran. He was a magna cum laude engineering graduate of the University of Arkansas. He attended church at First United Methodist Church, Lancaster, Penn. and served as a Sunday school teacher and as a member of Commission on Missions and the outreach committee.
He was a member of Institute of Electrical and Electronis Engineers, American Society of Mechanical Engineers, 8th Air Force Historical Society, Tau Beta Pi honorary engineering fraternity and a local ham radio club.
He was an advancement chairman with Cub Scouts Pack 129 and treasurer of Boy Scouts Troop 129, both of Rohrerstown.
He is survived by his wife, Mildred Klammer Henderson; four sons, William G. Jr. and James Randle, both of Lancaster, Penn., Robert Henderson of Avondale, and Richard Henderson of Coatesville; three daughters, Valerie Cifuni, and Janet Kipple both of Lancaster, and Virginia Hunsberger of Elizabethtown; nine grandchildren; and a sister, Rosemary Lovett of Fort Smith.

Robert Williams

Robert Eugene Williams, 82, of Paris, died Sunday, March 10, 2002.
He was a veteran of World War II. He worked at Cloyes Gear Co., in Paris Rendering Plant. He was a coal miner and a farmer.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Monday, March 18 at Pools Temple in Gray Rock with burial in Gray Rock cemetery under the direction of Roller Funeral Home of Paris.
He is survived by his wife Bernice Bates of Paris; one daughter, Ruby Richardson of Sacramento, Calif.; two sons, Bryan Williams and Raymond Williams both of Sacramento, Calif.; three step-daughters, Mary Schouweiler, Joanna Bates, and Ester Bates all of Paris; one step-son, Leonard Bates of Alexandria, Va.; 14 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Lester Poole, Robert Poole, Ray Bates, Shawn Ellingburg, Dennis Brown, and Dennis Brown, Jr.

Chrystal Thompson

Chrystal Kay Thompson, 65, of Paris, died Friday, March 15, 2002.
She was a homemaker and a member of Southside Baptist Church in Paris.
She is survived by her husband, Tom Thompson; one daughter, Catherine Kimbrough of Ore City, Tex.; two sisters, Edwinna Brown of Tallahassee, Fla. and Elien Moore of Subiaco; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Memorial service was held Sunday, March 17, at Southside Baptist Church under the direction of Murry Funeral Home of Paris.

Loy May

Loy Voden May, 78, of Booneville, died Saturday, March 16, 2002.
He was a farmer and a member of the Glendale Baptist Church.
Funeral service was at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 19 at The Pine Log Church with burial in Pine Log cemetery under the direction of Roberts Funeral Home.
He is survived by his wife, Nadine May of the home; two daughters, Linda Sue Pettycord of Waveland, and Sherry Kay Reeder of Barling; two sons, Jerry Don May of Booneville and Loy Wayne May of Booneville; 10 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Amos Pettycord, Alan Pettycord, Russell Pettycord, Randy May, Mike Lewis, and Damon Reeder.
Honorary pallbearers were Elba Gene Lowe, Hal May, Billy Mills, Joe Lewis, Richard Brannam, and Floyd Traylor.

Mary Littleton

Mary Ilavern Littleton, 82, of Magazine, died Monday, March 4, 2002.
She was a member of First Baptist Church in Magazine and retired from Ace Comb Company. She was preceded in death by parents, Everett C. and Lillian Loyd and a son, Dennis Allen Littleton.
Funeral service was at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 6 at First Baptist Church in Magazine with burial at Evans cemetery in Magazine under the direction of Roller Funeral Home of Booneville.
She is survived by one son, Dewey L. Littleton of Conway; three sisters, Iona Oliver of Little Rock, Dakota Parks of Downsville, La., and Ophelia Mathews of Magazine; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Robert Beam, James and Robert Mathews, Damon Cravens, Bruce Staton and Gene Cameron.
Memorial contributions may be made to Faulkener County Day School, P.O. Box 10508, Conway, AR 72034.

Ashlynn McKnight

Ashlynn Heaven McKnight, of Coal Hill, infant, died March 4, 2002.
Graveside service and burial was at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 7 at West Mountain Zion cemetery in Hartman officiated by the Rev. Amos Pledger under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home of Clarksville.
She is survived by parents, David and LaKisha McKnight of Coal Hill; grandparents, David and DeLayne McKnight of Clarksville, Allen Farris of Hartman, and Jennifer and Jerry Morgan of Coal Hill; great-grandparents, Mervin and Hazel Farris of Clarksville, Bill and Edna Woods of Clarksville, Elmer Whitson of Knoxville and L.G. Tumbleson of Kent, Wash.

James Dombek

James Stanley Dombek was born in Paris, June 2, 1937, to Lillian and the late Stanley Dombek. He graduated from Paris High School in May, 1955 and received his Bachelor's degree from the University of Central Arkansas in 1959. He taught mathematics and physics at Morrilton High School during the 1958-59 school year. He later received a Master of Arts degree in Mathematics from the University of Kansas in 1962 and a PhD in Mathematics from the University of Tennessee in 1970. He also attended the University of Georgia, New Mexico State University, Washington State University, and Portland State University for brief periods. He taught mathematics at Wisconsin State University at Whitewater before returning to the University of Central Arkansas as a mathematics instructor in 1970. He served as full-time professor of mathematics until 1983 when he was appointed Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences. In that position he had administrative responsibilities for approximately 200 full-time faculty, 60 part-time faculty, and 25 support staff in 14 different academic departments. During his tenure as Dean, the college offered approximately thirty programs of study and provided approximately 60 percent of the instruction for the University of Central Arkansas. Although Dombek's primary responsibility was to accomodate the teaching and learning process and to support the professional development of the faculty, his other responsibilities included budget development, promotion, tenure and retention recommendations, and the recruitment of faculty and staff.
After he assumed the position of Vice President for Administration, the College of Arts and Sciences was divided into three separate colleges. He later served as well as executive assistant to the president of UCA. He retired from UCA in December 1999.
He is survived by his sons Eric Dombek of Conway, and wife Susan, and Franklin Dombek of Greenbrier, four granddaughters, Delena, Katherine, Carrie and Allison; his mother and stepfather, Lillian and "Steve" Stephenson of Paris; four brothers, Fred of Paris, Bob of Broken Arrow, Okla., George of Goshen, and Don of Fayetteville; one sister, Paula Hutchinson of Bentonville; two nieces Darla Phillips of Clarksville and Marsha Kirkendoll of Tulsa; and one nephew Clint Hutchinson of Dallas.

Edward Wright

Edward George Wright, 92, of Paris, died March 6, 2002.
He was a general laborer and a member of First Assembly of God Church in Paris. He was preceded in death by parents, Robert Don and Rose (Ahlers) Wright.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Friday, March 8 at First Assembly of God Church in Paris. Burial followed at Ellsworth cemetery in Subiaco under the direction of Roller Funeral Home of Paris.
He is survived by his wife, Hazel (Dooley) Wright of Paris; one daughter, Loretta Ramsey of Van Buren; two sons David Wright of Garland, Tex.; and three grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Harold Rogers, Bob Rogers, J.T. Rogers, Marvin Wiggins, Charles Knoles and Larry White.
Honorary pallbearers were his Fellowship Sunday School Class.

Thomas Bonner

Thomas J. Bonner, 81, of Booneville, died Tuesday, March 5, 2002.
He was born May 8, 1920 in Sugar Grove and worked as a welder in oil fields. He was a World War II veteran.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 9 at Roberts Memorial Chapel in Booneville. Burial was at Blue Mountain cemetery in Blue Mountain under the direction of Roberts Funeral Home of Booneville.
He is survived by four brothers, Henry Bonner of Magazine, Fred Bonner and Hoyt Bonner both of Bakersfield, Calif.; and Roy Bonner of Cabot.
Pallbearers were Kenny Woods, Harold Bonner, Wayne Bonner, Joe Wayne Bonner, Frank Davis and William Bonner.

Ernest Connelley III

Ernest Clyde Connelley III, of McLean, Va., died Thursday, Feb. 28, 2002.
He was born on Aug. 20, 1952 in Paris. He graduated Coronado High School and attended Palomar College in San Diego, Calif. In Guam he helped run a deep sea fishing charter boat business, following years of being in the restaurant supply business. He was a commercial real estate agent affiliated with Weichert Realtors of McLean.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon Elaine Connelley; parents, Capt (USN retired) Ernest Clyde Connelley, Jr. and Catherine (Cay) Connelley; and one sister, Cathy Barton of Shreveport, La.
A memorial service was held at the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer in McLean, Va. on Sunday, March 10 at 2 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Paris.
