Voncrell Warden

Voncrell "Mutt" Warden, age 73, a resident of Gulfport, Miss. died Monday, Sept. 27, 2004 in Biloxi, Miss.
He was a retired heavy equipment operator and was involved in the building of Mississippi Gulf coast beaches. He also served in the U. S. Marine Corps.
He is survived by his wife Sylvia "Sis" Mings a former Paris resident; a son, Jamie Warden; a daughter, Diane Necaise and her husband Butch; three grandchildren, Rachel Necaise, Justin and Bryce Warden all of Gulfport; sisters-in-law, Jo Ann Wooten of Paris and Linda Schulterman and her husband Michael of Fort Smith; and Jim Mings and his wife Loretta of Arizona.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Dolores Jackson

Dolores A. "Bobbie" Jackson, 63, of Paris, died Saturday, Oct. 2, 2004.
She was an LPN for the Paris Retirement Inn.
Memorial mass will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 6 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Paris with burial in St. Joseph cemetery under the direction of Roller Funeral Home of Paris.
She is survived by her husband, Henry Jackson of the home; three daughters, Jamie Short of Cabot, Jennifer Early of Conway and Jolynn Shull of Memphis, Tenn.; one son, Jay Jackson of Delaware; four sisters, Chris Schluterman of Paris, Millie Reber of Houston, Tex., Mary Sargent of Fort Smith, and Betsy McAnally of Hot Springs; two brohters, Joe Becker of Paris and John Becker of Fort Smith; and four grandchildren.

Bill Baskin, Jr.

William "Bill" A. Baskin, Jr. 81, of Ozark died Sunday, Oct. 3, 2004 in a Ozark hospital.
He was a retired District Supervisor for Arkansas Western Gas; a Navy veteran of WWII; a member and deacon of Ozark First Baptist Church.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 6, 2004 at Ozark First Baptist Church with burial following at Highland Cemetery, Ozark, under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home.
He is survived by his wife, Ruby (Gattis) Baskin, of Ozark; two daughters, Molly Campbell of Springdale and Sherron Bornmann of Ozark; two sons, Bill Baskin of Springdale and David Baskin of Ponca City, Okla.; two sisters, Sissy Thomas of Subiaco and Hilda Mooney of Texas; two brothers, Jimmy Baskin of Atlanta, Ga. and Gerald Baskin of Paris; eight grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers are Steve Reano, Montie Canady, Jarrod Reano, Ken Wheeless, Scott Baskin and Bill Sullivan.
Honorary pallbearers are deacons of Ozark First Baptist Church.

Stanley Bassler, IV

Stanley Harrison "Tobby" Bassler, IV of Magazine, died Saturday, Nov. 20, 2004.
He was a tileman for Watt Tile Service of Paris, a high school graduate and a Roman Catholic.
Memorial service was in charge of the family at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 24 in Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church in Booneville. Cremation was under the direction of Roller Funeral Home of Paris.
He is survived by his mother, Susan Darlene (West) Jorden of Magazine; father, Stanley H. Bassler, III of Lebanon, Tenn.; grandparents, Bob and Wanda West of Magazine, and Stanley and Patricia Bassler of Magazine; great-grandmother, Mercedes Bessler of Pittsburg, Pa.; two sisters, Latasha Marie Bassler of Spiro, Okla., and Nicole Jorden of Booneville; two brothers, Christopher John Bassler of Magazine, and Joshua Tyler Bassler of Lebanon, Tenn.

Mary L. Finney

Mary L. Finney, 59, of Paris died Wednesday, Nov. 24, 2004 in Paris.
She was a home health aide with the Logan County Health Department. She was preceded in death by her parents, Perry and Flora Ann (Simpson) Bates and two brothers, Leonard and Glen Bates.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 27, 2004 at Lighthouse Worship Center in Paris with burial in Gray Rock Cemetery, under the direction of Roller Funeral Home of Paris.
Survivors include: three sons, Stanley Bates of Fayetteville, Leon Cummins of Atkins and Anthony Cummins of Charleston; three daughters, Mary Jo Finney, Beverly Carol Finney and Danielle Marie Ellingburg of Paris; two brothers, Robert and Timmy Bates of Gray Rock; eight sisters, Lois Thompson and Carolyn Lewis, both of Gray Rock, Glenda Bates, Vanessa Ellingburg, Ester Bates and Joanna Bates, all of Paris, Peggy Howard of Finley, Ohio, Theresa Bates of Peoria, Ill., Veronica Galzalmez and Karen Bates, both of Fort Smith; and 14 grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Robert Bates, Jack Lewis, Freddie Thompson, Shawn Bates, Jason Ellingburg and Rob Poole.
Honorary pallbearers were Stanley Bates, Leon Cummins, Anthony Cummins and Paul Cooper.

Hazel Mantooth

Hazel I. Mantooth, 97, of Paris died Wednesday, Nov. 24, 2004 in Fort Smith.
She was a retired school teacher for the Paris School District and member of the First Christian Church of Paris. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Clite (Costly) Mullins; her husband, Robert Joseph Mantooth and three sisters, June Wilkens, Daisy Beaubon and Elizabeth Hayes.
Funeral service was at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 27, 2004 at Roller Funeral Home Chapel in Paris. Burial followed in Oakwood Cemetery, Paris, under the direction of Roller Funeral Home.
Survivors include: one daughter, Frances (Mullins) Merrick, of Kellogg, Id.; one son, Robert Mantooth of Perryton, Tex.; two brothers, Irvin Mullins of Sallisaw, Okla. and Hugh Mullins of Midwest City, Okla.; one sister, Dorothy Medcalf of Purcell, Okla. six grandchildren; 13 great-great grandchildren and eight great-great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were friends.

Margaret Schmitz

Maragret Schmitz, 92, of Charleston, died Friday, Nov. 26, 2004.
She was a homemaker, a member of Scared Heart Catholic Church of Charleston, and St. Ignatius Catholic Church of Scranton. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo Schmitz and one son James Leo Schmitz.
Rosary was at 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 29 at Roller Funeral Home in Paris.
Funeral mass was at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 30 at St. Ignatius Catholic Church in Scranton with burial at St. Ignatius cemetery in Scranton under the direction of Roller Funeral Home of Paris.
She is survived by one daughter, Rose Anna Dunn of Fort Smith; two sons, Wilfred George Schmitz of Charleston and Robert Joseph Schmitz of Stroud, Okla.; three sisters, Lucille Pfeiffer of Paris, Geneva Lasiter of Fort Smith, and Dorothy Seville of Ballwin, Mo.; one brother, Johnny Spellins of Subiaco; nine grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Pallbearers were her grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to Greenhurst Family Council, Greenhurst Nursing Home, P.O. Box 458, Charleston, AR 72933.

Pauline Grissom

Della Pauline Grissom, 85 of Scranton died Sunday, April 5, 2009.
She was born June 26, 1923 in Logan County to the late Abner Spellins and Anna Ockenfels Spellins. She was retired from the Arkansas Department of Finance and Administration Revenue Office in 1988. She worked for the City of Scranton for 13 years as Treasurer/Recorder. She was chairman of the Logan County Republican Party for 12 years and a member of the Scranton First Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her brother, Willie Spellins and her daughter, Janie Grissom Fultz.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., Wednesday, April 8, at the Scranton First Baptist Church, with the Rev. Franklin Piercy officiating, with burial at the Elizabeth Hall cemetery in New Blaine, under the direction of the Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home in Paris.
She is survived by her husband, Arvel J. Grissom of the home; one son, Paul Grissom of Scranton; two sisters, Margie Glover of Owassa, Okla. and Lorene Enigh of Houston, Tex.; three granddaughters; seven great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Mark Snow, Richard Fox, John R. Fox, Leonard Berry, Mike Hampton and Clinton Bottoms.

Thomas Moore

Thomas P. Moore, 55, of Paris died Friday, April 10, 2009.
He was born October 10, 1953 in Paris to Joseph Moore and Lila Colburn Moore. He was a stone mason.
He was buried on Friday, April 10 at McVay cemetery under the direction of Smith Mortuary, Inc. of Charleston.
He is survived by two sisters, Claudia Rowell of Springdale, and Candice Jackson of Midway; and one brother, Mike Moore of Springdale.

Margaret Sullivan

Margaret Ann (Farmer) Sullivan, 68, of Paris died Saturday, April 18, 2009.
She was born May 22, 1940 in Scranton to the late Atha and Inez Farmer. She was a Christian, a homemaker and involved with the Brewer-Rollans V.F.W. Post 8383 Women s Auxiliary in New Blaine. She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, James Sullivan.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, April 22 at the Roller Funeral Home Chapel with burial at Oak Wood cemetery in Paris, under the direction of Roller Funeral Home in Paris. Please sign the online guestbook at www.rollerfuneralhomes.com
She is survived by one son, Dar Donnie Sullivan of Ozark; two daughters, Hanna Crosley of Clarksville and Teresa Grist of Charleston; three sisters, Karen Roulston of New Blaine, Neva Jones of Silsbee, Tex. and Brenda Brown of Paris; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren, and her Companion William Wimberly of Paris.
Pallbearers will be Larry Cauldwell, Kevin Farmer, Boyd Farmer, Carl Bradley, Jimmy Wimberly and Bret Sullivan.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Tim Grigsby, Curtis Campbell, David King, Terry Hice, and Terry Gath.
