GOLDIE KATHRYN DENNIS, 96, of Oklahoma City, Okla., died May 31, 1997
in Oklahoma City. She was born September 3, 1900 in Huntsville, the
daughter of James and Bertha (Officer) Murphy.
She resided in Oklahoma City for the past four years, having moved
there from Pryor, Okla., in 1993 where she had lived for 52 Years. She
moved to Pryor from Muskogee, Okla, in 1941. She married
Floyd
Elsworth Dennis in Huntsville in 1917.
Goldie was preceded in death by her husband who died in July 1976. She
is survived by three sons, Ervil Paul Dennis of Edmond, Okla., Donald
Eugene Dennis and Jimmie Clean Dennis, both of Oklahoma City, Okla.;
two daughters, Gleda Jernigan of Fowler, Calif., and Norma Gay
Aldenderfer of Joplin, Mo.; ten grandchildren; four great-
grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
Graveside funeral services were held Wednesday, June 4, 1997 at the
Aurora Cemetery, officiated by the Rev. C.J. Jackson.
FREEMAN ALBERT EASTWOOD, 25, of Huntsville, was born July 5, 1971 in
Montour Falls, New York. He was the son of James Dexter and Judith
Anne (Walrath) Eastwood. He died May 28, 1997 in Green Forest.
Mr. Eastwood was a truck driver for Tyson Foods. He served
with the National Guard during Desert Storm. He was a member of the
Metalton United Baptist church.
On April 3, 1993, he was united in marriage with April (Glen) Eastwood
who survives him. He is also survived by one son, Gregory Eastwood,
and one daughter, Ashley Eastwood, both of the home; his mother,
Judith Eastwood of Huntsville; three brothers, Ron Walrath of Sapulpa,
Okla., Mike Eastwood and Vincent Eastwood both of Huntsville; two
sisters, Rhonda Nunn of Huntsville and Rebecca Bolen of Berryville;
his mother-and father-in-law, Patricia Glen of Berryville and Norman
Glen of Wellington, Kan.; his grandfather, Bernard Kocher of Muncy,
Penn.; his grandmother, Helen Eastwood of Corning, New York; many
other relatives; and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his father; one sister, Monica Anne
Eastwood; his grandmother, ,Dorothy Kocher; and his grandfather, John
Eastwood.
Funeral services were held Saturday, May 31, at the Metalton United
Baptist Church with the Rev. Jim Sisco officiating.
Interment was in the White Oak cemetery under the direction of
Nelson Funeral Service.
EFFIE ELIZABETH BOATRIGHT DENNIS, l01, resident of Springdale, died
June 1 at the Northwest Medical Center. Born March 15, 1896 at Aurora,
she was the daughter of Robert and Mary Teague Boatright.
She was a member of the Phillips Freewill Baptist Church and a
homemaker.
Survivors include two daughters, Pauline Duncan and Zelma, McMurray
both of Springdale; four grandchildren: Shirley Pappas of Venice,
Florida, Elbert McMurray and Larry McMurray of Lowell and Jerry
McMurray of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; five great-grandchildren; Mary
McMurray Day of Bentonville, Sean and Melissa McMurray of Oklahoma
City, Michelle and Jennifer McMurray Of Lowell; three great-great-
grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Tuesday at Sisco Funeral Chapel with the
Reverends Cecil Garrison, Burton Perry and Gordon Bradshaw
officiating. Burial was at the Stuckey Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Sean McMurray, Larry McMurray, Elbert McMurray, Jerry
McMurray, Loyd Day and Edward Morris.
Arrangements were under the direction of Sisco Funeral Chapel of
Springdale.
JAMES CARL ARMER, 79, of Kingston, Arkansas, died at his home on May
26. He was born March 21, 1918, at Kingston, the son of Nelson and
Lizzie Nail Armer. He was a lifelong resident of Madison County, a
farmer and a member of the Elkhorn Church. He was preceded in death by
his parents and one brother, W.T. Armer.
He is survived by his wife of 55 Years, Velda Armer of the home; one
son, Junior Armer and daughter-in-law, Billie Armer of Kingston; one
sister, Ethel Moore of Springdale; one granddaughter, Julia Jackson
and her husband David Jackson of Kingston.
Services were held at 2 p.m Wednesday, May 28 at the Kingston
Community Church with Dearl Wilson, minister, officiating. Interment
was in the Kingston cemetery under the direction of
Christeson's Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were David Watson, Daniel Watson, Bill Grigg, Steven Root,
Ray Root and Doyle Root. Honorary pallbearers were Sam Fancher, Bruce
Cain, Lonzo Stephenson, Kenny Riley, Garland Carlton, Boyd Villines
and Danny Villines.
MARTHA EFFIE JANE ARMES, 84, Of Springdale died June 19, 1997, at her
home. She was born Jan. 15, 1913, at Kingston to William Isaac
and Mary Laduskey Kesner Armes. She was a homemaker and a member of
Phillips Chapel Free Will Baptist Church in Springdale. She was
Preceded in death by one brother and her parents.
Survivors include three sisters, Elma Stout, Delma Clark and Merle
Armes, all of Springdale; one sister-in-law, Mayme Armes of
Springdale; and several nieces and nephews.
Services were at 10 a.m. Monday, June 23 at Phillips Chapel Free Will
Baptist Church in Springdale with the Rev. Cecil Garrison and the Rev.
Berton Perry officiating. Burial was at 2 p.m. in Kingston Cemetery under the direction of Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home of Springdale.
Pallbearers were Millard Clark, Melvin Clark, Orvil Clark, David
Clark, Eddie Clark and Newell Clark. Honorary Pallbearers were Clebert
Armes, Kenneth Armes, Harvey Clark, Dwayne Clark, Craig Ratterree,
Charles Davenport, Charles White, the Rev. Loy Counts, Fred Smelley
and Jim Combs.
