MARY YOUNGMAN BLEVINS, 71, of Springdale died May 5, 1997, at
Northwest Medical Center in Springdale. She was born March 24, 1926,
in Madison County to Massie Levi and Mary Myrtle Danley Youngman. She
was a health care nurse, a Baptist and a life resident of the area.
Survivors include four brothers, Elza Youngman of Modesto, Calif.,
Bill Youngman and Dale Youngman, both of Springdale, and Don Youngman
of Sutherlin, Ore.; one sister, Joann McCarty of Springdale; one son;
two daughters; and several grandchildren.
Services were at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 8, at Sisco Chapel of Springdale
with the Rev. Cecil Garrison officiating. Burial was in Morris
Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Wayne Youngman, Joe May, Ryan May, Jody Whittle,
Michael Ashley and Wendall Bailey.
CLIFFORD A. MCCOY, 72, of Huntsville died May 31 at the Northwest
Medical Center in Springdale. He was born February 16, 1925 at
Whitener, the son of Alfred "Alf" and Mattie Eubanks McCoy. He had
retired from Campbell Soup Company in Fayetteville. He was a veteran
of World War II, serving in the United States Army and was a Baptist.
He was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Leola Samuels McCoy of the home;
four sons and daughters-in-law, Ronnie and Debbie McCoy of Springdale;
Jerry and Vicky McCoy and Scott and Heather McCoy, all of Huntsville,
and Lanny and Sharon Byrd of Japton; three daughters and sons-in-law,
Connie and David Baker of Mayfield; Luann and Paul Auslam of
Fayetteville and Karen and Rick Puryear of Spring Valley; two
brothers, Alvie McCoy and Gene McCoy, both of Mayfield; seven
grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; one great-grandchild and one
step great-grandchild.
Funeral services were held Tuesday in the chapel of Brashears
Funeral Home at Huntsville with Rev. Earl Dean Morris and the Rev.
Porter Bryant officiating.
Burial was in the Old Bethel cemetery near Red Star.
Pallbearers were Jim, Phil, Rick and Tom McCoy, Carl Sloan, Steve
Samuels and Marty Samuels.
LOURNE MAYES, 70, of St. Paul died May 28, 1997 at the Washington
Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville. She was born February 7, 1927
at Catalpa, Ark., the daughter of Orville and Rose Bell Cowan
Robinson. She was a homemaker and a member of the St. Paul Full Gospel
Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Charles Walter
Mayes, in 1982.
Survivors include four sons, Gordon Mayes and Lloyd Mayes both of St.
Paul, Ricky Mayes of Prairie Grove, and Charles Mayes of West Fork;
three daughters, Charlotte Garnett and Margrette Masterson both of
Kansas City, Mo., and Barbara Prunty of Congress Georgia; three
sisters, Virgie Lea Robinson of Oark, Mozelle Cowan and Maxine Chesser
both of Clarksville; one uncle, Delmar Robinson of Clarksville; one
aunt, Lillie Cowan of Clarksville; 29 grandchildren; 26 great-
grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held May 31 at the St. Paul Full Gospel Church
with the Rev. Doyle Baker officiating. Interment was in the Riverside
Cemetery under the direction of Brashears Funeral Home. Pallbearers
were David Masterson, Robert Gregory, Robert James Gregory, Rick
Thacker, Lanny Edens, and Leroy Mayes.
MARION CURTIS "MAC" MCADOO, 57, of Huffman, Tex., died June 14, 1997,
at Houston, Tex. He was born Feb. 21, 1940, at Madill, Okla., the son
of Forest R. and Stella Ruth Whitely McAdoo. He was a machinist and a
veteran of the United States Marine Corps. He was preceded in death by
his second wife, Mrs. Charlotte Palmer McAdoo, on Jan. 24, 1994, and
by his father, Forest R. McAdoo, on Oct. 3,1978.
Survivors include three sons, William Curtis "Buddy" McAdoo of Fort
Sill, Okla., Michael McAdoo of Tulsa, Okla., and Shannon McAdoo of
Houston, Tex.; one stepson, Shawn Krug of Houston, Tex.; two
daughters, Mrs. Dawn Seing of Broken Arrow, Okla., and Mrs. Dena
Morales of Huffman, Tex.; three stepdaughters, Mrs. Shirley Zeigler of
Houston, Tex., Mrs. Sandy McCormick of Fredericksburg, Va., and Mrs.
Elvina Roxy Gainey of Vinita, Okla.; his mother and stepfather, Stella
Ruth and Ishmael Webb of Berryville; three brothers, Homer Eton McAdoo
of Clarksville, Tenn., Foriest Evon McAdoo of Greenland, and Leon Lane
McAdoo of Huntsville; three sisters, Mrs. Patsy Van-Noy Wilson of
Springdale, Mrs. Mary Helen Allen of Tulsa, Okla., and Mrs. Irene Love
of Farmington, his first wife, Mrs. Billy Ann Perry of Vinita, Okla.;
four grandchildren; and nine step-grandchildren.
. Graveside were held at 10 am. Saturday, June 21, at the Dean
Cemetery with the Rev. Jerry Spurlock officiating. Arrangements were
under the direction of Brashears Funeral Home.
PAUL EDMUND PEEVY, 62, of Visalia, Calif., died at home on April 25,
1997, of cancer. He was born Jan. 29, 1935, in Russellville, Ark., the
only child of Albert and Frances Ellen Bradford Peevy. He spent his
early years in Russellville, moving to Earlimart, Calif., when he was
9 years of age. He attended elementary school in Earlimart and high
school in Delano, Calif., graduating in 1953. He worked as a fire-
fighter for the state of California Department of Forestry and
operated a residential fire station for 10 years before moving to
Visalia, Calif., and becoming a fire captain with the department. He
was stationed at Mt. Home Conservation Camp for 13 years before
retiring in December in 1989 after 35 years of service.
He is survived by his widow, Mary Annis McMurray Peevy, whom he met
when they were both in elementary school and married
on Sept. 24,
1954. Mary is the daughter of Cecil Clark McMurray and Lucille Jewel
Whittemore McMurry, formerly of Huntsville. Other survivors include
one daughter, Deborah Kay Peevy Finney and husband Rob Finney; one
son, Lee Edmund Peevy and wife Colleen Diane Mullen Peevy; one grand-
daughter, Susan Marylee Peevy; two step-granddaughters, Sadie Finney
of Bishop, Calif., and Cora Telford of Visalia, Calif.; two step-
grandsons, Gere Telford of Visalia, Calif., and Eryk Finney of Bishop,
Calif.; his mother-in-law, Lucille J. McMurray; and a brother-in-law,
Lee Earl McMurray of Earlimart, Calif.
Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 29, at the
Tulare District cemetery in Tulsare, Calif., with the Rev. Carl Hatton
of New Hope Community Church if Visalia officiating. A Schedule A fire
truck and a Schedule B crew bus with black wreaths preceded the
procession to the cemetery. A last alarm was called and a state of
California flag, which draped the casket, was presented to Mrs. Peevy
by the Department of Forestry Honor Guard.
