HAROLD DWAYNE GARRETT, 51, of Japton, Ark., died May 9, 1997 at the
Northwest Medical Center in Springdale. He was born July 17 1945, at
Fullerton, Calif., the son of William Lowell and Iva Mae Donaghey
Garrett. He was a farmer, a veteran of the Vietnam War, serving in the
U.S. Army and member of the Church of Christ. He was preceded in death
by one brother, Elmer Eugene Garrett, on Jan. 11, 1987, by his father
on July 14, 1991, and by his mother on April 9, 1997.
Survivors include his widow Mrs. Nona D. Mitchell Garrett of the home;
three sons and two daughters-in-law, Mark and Penny Garrett and Thomas
and Missy Garrett, all Of Japton and Matthew Garrett of Fayetteville;
one brother and sister-in-law, Larry and Lea Ann Garrett of Wesley;
two brothers in law, Thomas Mitchell and Terrance Mitchell, both of
Japton; two sisters-in-law Mrs. Deidra Jones of Fayetteville and Mrs
Shirley Garrett Of Wesley; two grandsons, Bronson Garrett and Treyton
Garrett both of Japton and two granddaughters Miss Nikki Garrett and
Miss Tommi Garrett both of Japton.
Services were held at 10 a.m. Monday, May 12, in the chapel of
Brashears Funeral Home with C.J. Jackson, minister, officiating.
Interment was in Ledbetter cemetery under the direction of Brashears
Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Dewey Watkins, Jim Watkins Tom Clark, Max Clark, Gary
Faulkner, Terrance Mitchell and Thomas Mitchell.
FRED GAYER, 83, of Goshen died June 19, 1997, at Washington Regional
Medical Center. He was born July 16, 1913, at Mayfield, the son of
William and Martha Dutton Gayer. He was a retired farmer, a member of
Goshen Masonic Lodge #413, and Eastern Star Chapter #614. He was
preceded in death by a daughter, Ruby Arvilla Johnson.
He is survived by his widow, Ruby Esther Gayer of the home; one son-
in-law, Wendell Johnson of Fayetteville; four grandchildren, Larry
Johnson Sr. and his wife Debra, Diana Nash and her husband Coleman,
Gary Johnson, Angela Harrison and her husband Andrew; five great-
grandchildren, Melissa Nash, Larry Johnson Jr., Taylor Nash, Jason
Johnson and Grant Nash.
Services were held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 23, at Goshen United
Methodist Church with the Rev. Don Eubanks and the Rev. Johnny
Sisemore officiating. Interment was in Wesley cemetery with Masonic
rites under the direction of Moore's Chapel.
ZELDA WHEELER FASCIANO, 83, died Sunday, May 26, at her home. Mrs.
Fasciano, a native of Drakes Creek, spent her early life in Wesley. A
resident of Greenville, North Carolina since 1967, she was employed
for many years at Shopeze Foodiand. She was a charter member of the
Greenville Quilter's Guild and a member of the University Church of
Christ.
Survivors include three sisters, Jessie Jacobson and Dorothy Morris,
both of Tahlaquah, Okla., and Tommy Guinn of Wesley, and two brothers,
Howard Wheeler of Springdale and Joe Wheeler of Albuquerque, New
Mexico.
A graveside service was conducted Saturday, May 31, at Homestead
Memorial Gardens in Greenville.
AARON THOMAS FREY, 21, of Pettigrew died May 31 at his home. He was
born February 19, 1976 at Charlotte, North Carolina, the son of James
Francis and Gayla Dean Lewis Frey.
Survivors include his parents of the home; one brother, Nate Frey Of
the home; two sisters, Miss Anna Frey and Miss Serene Frey, both of
the home; his paternal grandmother, Mrs. Lucille Frey of New Bedford,
Massachusetts and his maternal grandmother, Mrs. Edith Lewis of High
Point, North Carolina.
A memorial service will be held at a future date. Cremation was under
the direction of Brashears Funeral Home.
RUBY (BOHANNAN) SCHROEDER, 54, of Eureka Springs, Ark., died June 20,
1997 in Eureka Springs. She was born Dec. 23, 1942, in the Rock House
Community, the daughter of Walter and Malishia Buttery Bohannan. She
was a homemaker. She was of the Baptist Faith. She was preceded in
death by her parents; one brother, Jack Bohannan, and one sister,
Elsie Bohannan Doster.
She is survived by three sons, John Biles of Berryville, Kenneth
Schroeder of Tulsa, Okla., and Brad Schroeder of Springfield, Ill.;
four brothers, Fred Bohannan of Texarkana, John Bohannan of Ward,
Elmer Bohannan of Eureka Springs, and Bud Bohannan of Eureka Springs;
five sisters, Emma Glover of Little Rock, Thelma Wilkes of Little
Rock, Grace Andrews of San Antonio, Tex., Hazel Marshall of Amarillo,
Tex., and Lucy Smith of Fayetteville; nine grandchildren; and several
nieces and nephews.
Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, June 23, in the Rock
House cemetery with the Rev. Jim Sisco officiating. Interment followed
the service in the Rock House cemetery under the direction of Nelson
Funeral Service.
Memorial donations may be made to Flint Street Missions, Eureka
Springs, Ark.
STANT FRANKLIN SALSBURY, 84, of Fayetteville died June 21, 1997, at
Fayetteville. He was born Aug. 26, 1912, in Washington County to
Robert Edward and Roxie F. Franklin Salsbury. He was a Baptist.
He is survived by one stepson, Grady Truax of Fayetteville; one
stepdaughter, Carolyn Young of Springdale; six brothers, Vernon
Salsbury of Fayetteville, Ray Salsbury of Goshen, Ward Salsbury of
Hindsville, Robert Salsbury of Lincoln, Vol Salsbury of Fayetteville,
and Hogan Salsbury of Indiana; one sister, Maxine Tando of Round
Mountain; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Services were held at 10 a.m. at Nelson's Funeral Home Chapel with
Luke Garrett officiating. Burial was in Fairview Memorial Gardens at
Fayetteville.
