Vernon C. Porter, resident of Searcy, died Thursday, August 7, 2003. He was 87 years of age.

Virginia Louise Wright Hoofman

Virginia Louise Wright Hoofman was born September 5, 1920 in Plummer, Idaho. She died August 7, 2003. She was a member of Salem Missionary Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Plez Hoofman, her mother, Lee Ora Bailey and a grandson Ricky Hoofman.

Mrs. Marian P. Kovacevich, 79, of Fairfield Bay passed away Sunday, Nov. 30, 2003, at the Conway Regional Medical Center in Conway. Born in Minnesota on Jan. 22, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Harold and Pearl (Danials) Cleveland.

Fannie Gertrude Hensley Massey, 90, of Searcy passed away Sunday, Nov. 30, 2003, at White County Medical Center in Searcy. Born at Hickory Flat on Feb. 19, 1913, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Franklin and Elizabeth P. (Albert) Hensley.

Espa Juanita Walmsley

Espa Juanita Walmsley, 86, of Cabot, formerly of White County, died Friday, Nov. 28, 2003, in North Little Rock. Born Dec. 21, 1916, in Atkins, she was the daughter of the late Clossen E. and Emma Jean Daniels. She was a homemaker, a member of the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church and a member of the Eastern Star.

Rhonda Lee Bisbee, 34, of McRae, died Thursday, Nov. 27, 2003, in Searcy. She was born May 9, 1969, in Searcy. She was a charter member of the New Beginnings Baptist Church in McRae.

Eunice Frances Cain

Eunice Frances Cain of Judsonia passed away Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2003, at White County Medical Center in Searcy. She was born April 20, 1924, in Shiloh, Tenn., and was a graduate of McCrory High School. She had a great passion for animals and devoted the majority of her life to giving numerous animals a loving home.

Eldon Tabor Nelson

Eldon Tabor Nelson, 89, of Griffithville, died Thursday, Nov. 27, 2003, in Des Arc. He was born March 11, 1914, in Belcher, Ark., to the late William and Rosetta Jane Hooper Nelson. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, a self-employed plumber, a wood worker and made homemade clocks.

Clyde Peters, 82, of Cabot died Thursday, Nov. 27, 2003. He was a retired truck driver, a Baptist, a Mason, a Rainbow Dad and an Army Veteran of World War II.

Virgil Weatherford, 93, of St. Joseph, Mich., formerly of Searcy, died Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2003, at a nursing home in Michigan. He was born Sept. 5, 1910, at Elgin, Ark., to Arch Weatherford and Francis Wilson Weatherford. He was retired from railroad maintenance and was a member of the Four Mile Hill Church of Christ.

Franklin Delano "Frankie" Rankin, 69 of Searcy, died Tuesday, June 8, 2004. He was born Jan. 30, 1935 in Stoney Point, Ark., to the late U. Dee Rankin and Anna Mae Freeman Stain. He was a self-employed tile installer.

Ruby Louise Mason

Ruby Louise Mason, 83, of Bradford died September 9, 1999. Born April 6, 1916, in Bradford, she was the daughter of the late Dalton L. and Winona O'Brien Burgess. The widow of N.H. Mason, she was a homemaker and member of the Order of the Eastern Star and Bradford Baptist Church.

Survivors include two sons, Dean Mason of Heber Springs and James N. Mason of Hope; one daughter, Louise Piker of Heber Springs; one sister, Helen Pauline Blanton of Westerville, Ohio; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be this afternoon at 2 at Bradford Baptist Church with burial in Hickmon cemetery by Powell Funeral Home, Bald Knob-Judsonia.
