James Eugene "Gene" Boswell of Beebe, born Oct. 5, 1951, died Monday, April 19, 2004.
Survivors: wife, Kathy; sons, Scott of Tucson, Ariz., and Steven of San Manuel, Ariz.; nine grandchildren; grandmother, Beulah Tilley; one uncle; three aunts.
Darek Eugene Madron, 40, of Romance died Sunday, May 2, 2004.
Survivors include his parents, Billy and Ressie Madron; a brother, Clate Madron and wife, Cristy; a sister, Leah Miller; three daughters, Heather, Sylvia and Sarah; and two step-children, Shana and Justin.
A memorial service will be conducted at a later date.

Franklin Delano 'Frankie' Rankin
Franklin Delano "Frankie" Rankin, 69 of Searcy, died Tuesday, June 8, 2004. He was born Jan. 30, 1935 in Stoney Point, Ark., to the late U. Dee Rankin and Anna Mae Freeman Stain. He was a self-employed tile installer.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Wannetta Rankin of Searcy; three sons and their spouses, Billy and Charlotte Peebles of Little Rock, Robert and Penny Rankin of Stuttgart and Charles "Chuck" and Terry Peebles of Judsonia; six brothers; seven sisters; eleven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, Stephen Mark Rankin, and two daughters, Gail Posey and Tina Dixon.
Visitation is from 4:30 p.m. until 7 p.m. Thursday, June 10, 2004 at Searcy-McEuen Funeral Home. Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, June 11, at Searcy-McEuen Chapel. Interment to follow at Holly Springs cemetery in Searcy.

Marcia McCarthy Price, 76, of Searcy died Tuesday, June 8, 2004. She was a member of Beebe First Presbyterian Church.
Survivors: husband, Frank Price, Jr.; son, Michael Steven Price; three granddaughters.
Funeral services for A.A. "Kit" Carson of Beebe were conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 17, 2004, at Beebe First Baptist Church. The Rev. Bob Hall gave the message and the Rev. Robin Covington gave the eulogy.
Special music was provided by organist Lisa Offutt and pianist Karen Wisdom, with song selections "Precious Memories" sung by Everett Dodson, "Amazing Grace" sung by quartet of Everett Dodson, Joey Herrin, Orville Sutton and Euell Lynn Adams, and "Because He Lives" sung by Nick Neu.
Pallbearers were Harold Welch, Mike Fisher, Jim Wyatt, Windell Wiggs, Phil Stroud and Robert Barnett.
Burial was in Quattlebaum cemetery by Westbrook Funeral Home, Beebe.

Funeral services for Vina Belle Harlan of Mt. Vernon were conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 20, 2004. Jerry Riley and David Riley officiated.
Special music was provided by the Mars Hill Church of Christ Singers, with Thomas Martin directing.
Pallbearers were Rodger Harlan, Don Harlan, Brad Harlan, Brian Harlan, Todd Jones, Tony Woodruff and Trent Harlan.

Frank Thompson
Frank Thompson, 59, of Judsonia, died Saturday, July 18, 2004.
He is survived by his wife, Linda; three daughters, Becky Thompson, Amanda Neeley and Angela Rogers, all of Judsonia; one son, Billy Thompson of Kensett; and eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Thompson and Eula Mae Glasco, and two sisters, Wanda Thompson and Willie Mae Ireland.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, July 21, at 2 p.m. at the Powell Funeral Home Chapel, Bald Knob-Judsonia. Visitation was held from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Interment was in the Macedonia Cemetery.
Pauline Rogers Pierce
Pauline Rogers Pierce, age 78, of Bald Knob died July 20, 2004. She was born Aug. 28, 1925, to Andrew Rogers and Raye Ripley Rogers.
She is survived by two daughters, Gail Steward of Russell and Sharon Carpenter of Letona; two sons, Fred Jones of Bradford and Robert Jones of Searcy; three stepsons, Ronnie Pierce, Denny Pierce and LeRoy Pierce, all of Russell; one sister, Betty Eifling of White Hall; 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; 12 step-grandchildren; and 16 step-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jessie Pierce; her parents; stepfather, Robert Coleman; one son, Jimmy Jones; and step-daughter, Linda Pyle.
Funeral services will be Thursday, July 22, at 2 p.m. at the Powell Funeral Home, Bald Knob-Judsonia. Interment will be in the Shady Grove Cemetery.
Matt Watkins
Matt Watkins, resident of Searcy, died Monday, July 19, 2004. He was 40 years of age.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at the Powell Funeral Home in Searcy with interment in Henderson Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 6 until 8.
Matt was born Dec. 10, 1963, in Lancaster, Calif., the son of Robert and Martha Darden Watkins. He was employed by Yarnell's and was a member of the Trinity Baptist Church.
He is survived by his parents, Bob and Jane Watkins of Pangburn; his wife, Teresa Watkins of Tampico, Ill.; three sons, Derek Adam, William Spencer and Justin Lucas Watkins and their mother, Sandra Watkins, all of Petal, Miss.; two brothers, Robert Watkins II and his wife Debbie of Searcy and Warren Watkins of Cabot; nephews, Robby, Timmy and Dexter; and nieces, Bethany Perdue, Rachael and Rebecca and their mother, Karen.
