Rufus Sydney 'R.S.' Jones, 62, died Jan. 30, 2008.
He is survived by his wife, Odessa Jones; children, Joyce Jones of Lonoke and Orlanda DeSaussure of Colorado Springs, Col.; two grandchildren, Shaina and C.J. DeSaussure; father, L.G. Jones of Lonoke; two sisters, Christine Offord of Lonoke and Alice Payne of Chicago; four brothers, Robert Jones and Alfred Jones of North Little Rock, Theodis Jones of Fort Smith and Richard Jones of Lonoke. He was preceded in death by a son, Trunda Jones.
Funeral services were Monday at Boyd Funeral Home Chapel in Lonoke with interment in Lonoke cemetery.
DOROTHY WOOLEY
Dorothy L. Wooley, 69, of Jacksonville passed away January 29, 2008, surrounded by her family and friends after a lengthy illness.
Her husband, John Wooley, preceded her in death.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Jacksonville.
She was born on April 24, 1938, to John and Pauline Minyard in White Rock, Texas.
After graduating from high school in California, she married
William Monroe, Sr., and lived in Santa Cruz, Cal., where she had three children: Elizabeth Monroe, William Monroe and Robert Monroe.
They moved to Jacksonville and raised their three children.
John Wooley was retired Air Force as well as a retired sergeant from the Jacksonville Police Department.
Their oldest son, William Monroe, works at the Jacksonville Police Department.
He retired from the Army after 23 years of service.
William and his wife, Carolyn, reside in Gravel Ridge and have one daughter, Elizabeth Autry. Autry is a dental assistant at the Cooper Dental Clinic.
She has two children, Michael Bajorek of Muskogee, Okla., and Stephanie Barrett, a full-time student at ASU-Beebe.
Wooley's youngest son, Robert Monroe of Cabot, his wife Kelly and their two children, Allison and Logan Graham, also survive her.
A memorial service was held in her honor Saturday at Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home with Rev. Bob Fielding officiating.
GLORIA STRAYHORN
Gloria Jean Strayhorn, 62, of McRae was born January 20, 1946 in Searcy to Jack and Helen Manning Crisco, and she died Jan. 30, 2008.
She was retired from Eaton Enterprises in Searcy, and was a member of Floyd First Baptist Church.
She was loved and will be missed by all.
Strayhorn is survived by her husband of 43 years, Joe Strayhorn of McRae; one daughter, Paula Casteen and husband, Bland of Burkburnett, Texas; two grandchildren, Joseph and Brittiny Casteen; one brother, Kenneth Strayhorn; and one sister, Beth Strayhorn, both of McRae.
The funeral was Saturday at Westbrook Funeral Home, with burial in Weir cemetery.
JACK BUNDY III
Jack Mason Bundy III, 19, of Cabot passed away Jan. 28, 2008.
His paternal grandmother, Donna Mae Bundy, and his brother, Kristopher Johnson, preceded him in death.
Bundy is survived by his parents, Jack Bundy Jr. and Debbye Wilson Bundy; stepmother, Ann Moss Bundy; God-family, Patti and Horace Evans of Cabot and David and C.J. Kennedy; grandparents, Jack and Betty Bundy and Barbara and Kenneth Reed; sisters, Donna Michelle Bundy and her husband James Cearns of Cabot and April Moss Jones and her husband Shannon of Jacksonville, N.C.; brother, Denton Moss of Cabot; nephews, Christian, Austin, Collen and Michael Cearns and Wesley Armstrong; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were Friday at the Chapel of Cabot Funeral Home with burial at Sumner cemetery.
Arrangements were by Moore's Cabot Funeral Home.
Jerry Fishburn
Jerry Lynn Fishburn, 53, of Jacksonville passed away Nov. 28, 2007.
He was born Dec. 13, 1953 in Lafayette, Tenn., to Roxie Fishburn and the late Estel Fishburn.
He was a member of the New Zion Missionary Church.
He was employed by Pat Salmon and Sons Trucking for 14 years.
Survivors include his loving wife, Olene; his mother; son, Chris Fishburn of Mayflower; two daughters, Teresa Wampler and husband Brett of Little Rock and Sandy Workman and husband Tony of Mabelvale; sister, Betty Sue Clayborne and husband Steve of Lafayette, Tenn.; brother, Carl C. Fishburn and wife Nancy of Lafayette, Tenn.; grandchildren, 'Pawpaw s Little Buddy' Haley Fishburn, Samantha Barker, Sara Butler, Nicholas Wampler; and a great-grandson, Caleb Barker as well as many other family and friends.
Services will be Saturday, Dec. 1 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Moore s Jacksonville Funeral Home with interment to follow in Mt. Pleasant cemetery.
Aubrey Cartwright
Aubrey Glenn Cartwright, 63, of Austin died Nov. 27, 2007.
He was born Feb. 26, 1944, at Houston, Texas, to Aubrey Bowie and Elizabeth Lilly Cartwright.
He was a retired meat cutter and welder until he became disabled.
He is survived by his wife, Debora Tippitt Cartwright; two daughters, Crystal Ann Cartwright and Keri Shawnee Cartwright, both of Austin; and two sisters, Linda and Becky, both of Texas.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 1 at Westbrook Funeral Home in Beebe with burial in Johnson Chapel cemetery.
Selma Murray
Selma Lee Murray, 89, of North Little Rock, formerly of Lonoke, passed away Nov. 29, 2007.
She was a member of Jehovah Witness Kingdom Hall and was retired from Tyson Foods.
Survivors include nieces, Susie Standridge of North Little Rock, Willie Faye Scucchi of Lake Village, Letha Pearl Dees of Lake Village and Etta Mae Malone of Texas; great niece, Shirley Hammons of North Little Rock; sister-in-law, Delois Holladay of Little Rock and other relatives and friends.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 1 at Lonoke cemetery with arrangements by Boyd Funeral Home of Lonoke.
Jack Knox
Jack Knox, 81, of Cabot passed away Nov. 27, 2007.
He was born Feb. 15, 1926 in Old Austin to the late James and Ruth Elliott Knox.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Jack Gilbert Knox, Jr.; brothers and sisters, Eleanor Hayley, Bessie Williams, Lewis Knox, James Elliott Knox, Nonie Stacy, Robert Knox and Mollie Sharp.
He was a retired dairy farmer and owner of Knox Construction.
He served during the Second World War in the Navy and was instrumental in getting the Veteran's Memorial built in Cabot as well as starting a Veteran's of Foreign Wars local lodge.
He was a member of A.M.P.I. (Dairy) and Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Cabot.
He is survived by his wife, Bertie Diederich Knox; daughter, Patty Knox of Cabot; brother and sister, Bill Knox of Little Rock and Peggy O Neal of Fayetteville; grandchildren, Amy Perkins and husband Brock Butts of LaGrange, Ga., and John Peyton Perkins III and wife Jocelyn of Texarkana, Texas, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were Nov. 30 at Moore s Cabot Funeral Home.
Mildred Lorene Berry, 87, of Ward was born Aug. 18, 1920, at Austin to George W. and Ida Cathey, and she died Jan. 14, 2008.
She was an active member of Greenwood Missionary Baptist Church at Butlerville for over 55 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Joe Berry; her son, Larry Joe Berry; her brother, G. W. Cathey, Jr. and her parents.
She is survived by her son, Richard and wife Carolyn Berry of Pine Bluff; daughter, Kathy and son, Jerry Yielding of Searcy; daughter-in-law, Mildred Berry of Sherwood; six grandchildren, Greg Berry of Sherwood, Scott and wife Sara Berry of Louisville, Ky., Melissa and husband Chris Davis of Bryant, Tiffany Sanders of Cache, Okla., Meredith Berry of Little Rock; Dillon Yielding of Fayetteville; two great-grandchildren, Brandon Davis and Andrew Berry; two sisters, Ruth and husband Raymond Berry of North Little Rock and Linda Burgess and husband Clarence of Austin; sisters-in-law, Mary Hicks of Cabot and Twila Cathey of Austin and brother-in-law Thomas and wife Christine Berry of Austin.
Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Jan. 16 at Westbrook Funeral Home, Beebe.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Jan. 17 at Greenwood Missionary Baptist Church, with burial in Butlerville cemetery.
The Rev. Freddie Crook will officiate.

Sonny Yarbro
Edward James 'Sonny' Yarbro, 61, of Beebe died Jan. 13, 2008.
Sonny was the owner of S & Y Auto Sales and a member of the Beebe Masonic Lodge 145.
He is survived by his wife, Chorlotte; a daughter, Dana Cuccia and her husband Ross of Beebe; a son, Danny Yarbro and his wife Kim of Beebe; three grandsons, Vincent Cuccia, Harold William 'Highway' Yarbro, and Dakota Yarbro, all of Beebe; a sister, Dorothy Gean Pinkston of Petosi, Mo.; a half-brother, Gus Riley Carter of Petosi, and a host of nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
Yarboro was preceded in death by his parents, Edward James Yarbro, Sr. and Dorothy Lavina Hill Yarbro, and his stepfather Ezekiel Carter.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 16 at Westbrook Funeral Home, with burial in Stoney Point cemetery.
