Helen Jean Davis

Helena-West Helena, Ark. - Funeral services for Helen Jean Davis, 56, will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 27, 2008 at the Freedonia M.B. Church with Rev. Norman Leswis officiating. Burial will in Oak Grove No.3 cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today in the Stephens Funeral Home chapel.

Davis was born July 29, 1952 to the late Ferman Lee and Mary Lee Davis in Helena. She entered into eternal rest on Sept. 19, 2008.

Her parents, husband, Clarence Davis, and a sister, Martha Ann Lee, preceded her in death.

She leaves to cherish her memory, three sons, Anthony (Tsha) Tose of Atlanta, Ga., Thomas Edward Tose of Helena-West Helena and Phillip L. Sharp of Ft. Wayne, Ind.; three brothers, Willie (Jo Ann) Lee of Helena-West Helena, John Henry (Cynthia) Jones of Kileen, Texas, Ferman Lee of Helena; seven sisters, Shirley (Frederick) Wilson of Chicago, Loretta Sowpes and Francis Lee of Little Rock, Stephanie Moore of Indianapolis, Lisa Lee and Loretta Lee Watson of Helena-West Helena and Dorothy Sain of Helena-West Helena; five aunts, Mary and Ora Lee , Cleolia Frederick, Louise and Ethel Richardson; an uncle, James Richardson; grandchildren, great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews; and friends and a special friend, Sam.

Stephens Funeral Home will direct services.

Elizabeth Estell Lilly

Helena-West Helena, Ark. - Funeral services for Elizabeth Estell Lilly, 72, of Bono will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2008 at the Gospel Lighthouse Church in Moro. Visitation will precede the service beginning at 1 p.m. also at the Gospel Lighthouse Church. Burial will be in Oak Grove cemetery in Moro. Rev. William Buddy Herndon will officiate.

Lilly, born Sept. 29, 1935 in Moro to the late David Lonzo Parson and the late Ola Leona Hendrix Parson, died Sunday, Sept. 2, 2008 in Jonesboro.

She was a member of the Gospel Lighthouse Church in Moro.

She leaves her husband, Darrell A. Lilly of Bono; a son, Randy Lilly of Jonesboro; daughters, Diann Herndon of Brinkley, Brenda Mathews, Liz Lilly, Donna Mallard and Stacy White, all of Helena-West Helena; grandchildren, Rodney Herndon of Marianna, Brian Herndon of Moro, Monica McCarley of Tupelo, Miss., Timothy Hart of Lexa, B.J. Amos of Helena-West Helena, Christy Bevel of Conway, Ron White and Collin White of Helena-West Helena and Caleb Lilly of Jonesboro; great grandchildren, Brittany Herndon and Corey Herndon of Marianna, Lilly McCarley of Tupelo, D.J. Amos of Conway, Dalton Amos of Conway, Cody Lane Hart of Brinkley, Lily Herndon and Lake Herndon of Moro, Dillan Amos and Lauren Amos of Helena-West Helena; brothers, Floyd Parson of Moro and Lonnie Gene Parson of Searcy; a half brother, Glenn Parson of Moro; sisters, Pearlie Mae Wooten of Brinkley, Jewell Faye Bowman and Louise Compton of Moro; half-sisters, Ruby Hendrix of Searcy, Jewel Hendrix of Wynne and Haylene Gray of Moro.

Her parents, a sister, Juanita Parson and half brothers, Leonard Walker, Robert Walker and Tillman Walker preceded her in death.

Pallbearers will be Rodney Herndon, Brian Herndon, Ron White, Colin White, Timothy Hart and B.J. Amos.

Baby Alfrieanna Lashay Stackhouse

Helena-West Helena, Ark. - Graveside services for Baby Alfrieanna Lashay Stackhouse, infant daughter of Julie Randle and Houston Stackhouse III, were held Oct. 11, 2008 in the Oak Grove cemetery No. 3 in Helena-West Helena with Elder Harry White officiating.

Stackhouse died Oct. 6, 2008 at Helena Regional Medical Center.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her mother, Julie Randle; her father, Houston Stackhouse III; her grandmother, Orlena Hill; grandfather, Houston Stackhouse Jr.; three sisters, Tatiyna Stackhouse, Aliyah Stackhouse, and Ashanti Stackhouse, all of Helena-West Helena; two brothers, LeAundarius Stackhouse and Terry Randle of Helena-West Helena; five aunts, Tamika Stackhouse and Leilani Hill, both of Little Rock, Patricia Williams, Bobbie Ann Randle and a special aunt and friend, Minnie Grant; seven uncle, Keith Hill, Oliver Hill, David Randle (Shalita) Charlie Randle (Tasha), James Randle, Johnny Randle; four cousins; and a host of relatives and friends.

Blanche Easley

Helena-West Helena, Ark. - Blanche Easley, 66, of Helena-West Helena died Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2008 at Helena Regional Medical Center in Helena. Mrs. Easley was born May 16, 1942 at Indian Bay to James and Leona Jackson. Mrs. Easley loved her family.

She leaves her children, Dennis Easley of Helena-West Helena, Regina Hislip and husband, William, of Helena-West Helena, Carolyn Clemons and husband, Kent, of Lexa; seven grandchildren, William Hislip, Jr., Harold Clemons and wife, Violet, Melanie Mora and husband, Joe, Kent Clemons, Jr., and Gary Hislip; two great-granddaughters, Heather Clemons and Allison Mora.

Her husband, John (Buck) Easley; her parents; a brother, Kenneth Jackson; and a sister, Jowandah Wilkinson preceded her in death.

Funeral services for Blanche Easley will be held t 11 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 11, 2008 at Roller-Citizens. Visitation will be Friday evening from 4-6 p.m. at Roller-Citizens. Burial will be in Marvell Memorial cemetery in Marvell. Brother Floyd Tackett will officiate.

Pallbearers are her grandsons and close friends, William Hislip, Jr., Harold Clemons, Kent Clemons, Jr., Gary Hislip, Joe Mora, Richard Willcut, James Willcut and Steven Fulton.

Dave Inebnit

Marvell, Ark. - Funeral services for Dave Inebnit, 90, of Marvell will be held 10 a.m. today in the Roller-Citizens Funeral Home chapel. Rev. Kirk Doering will officiate. Burial will be in Schaffhauser cemetery in Marvell.

Inebnit, born May 17, 1918 in Hicks to the late Fred Inebnit and Kate Gray Inebnit, died Friday, Oct. 3, 2008 in Marvell.

Mr. Dave lived through the great depression and learned the importance of hard work. He never ventured too far from home, dedicating himself to raising his children and grandchildren. He always had a kind word for everyone and a laugh that was infectious. He will be remembered fondly as a kind, gentle man.

He leaves his children, Peggy Bock and husband, Alan and Vivian Shadden and husband, Wayne; grandchildren, Roxann McCue and husband, Alan, Michael Bock and wife, Cindy, Bryan Shadden and wife, Kristie, Melanie Moreland and husband, Doug, Shannon Young and husband, Clay, and Cory Inebnit and wife, Melissa and 14 great grandchildren.

His parents; his wife, Gladys Inebnit; a son, David Inebnit Jr., and a daughter, Catherine Inebnit and two great grandchildren preceded him in death.

Pallbearers will be Inebnit s grandsons, Bryan Shadden, Michael Bock Cory Inebnit, Clay Young, Doug Moreland and Alan McCue. Honorary pallbearers will be Simon Schell III, Paul Steiner Jr. and Herman Hall.

Eric Henry Moore

Helena-West Helena, Ark. - Funeral services for Eric Henry Moore 49, of Memphis and formerly of the Southland community will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 20, 2008 at the Cummings St. Baptist Church at 250 E. Raines Road in Memphis.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Kincaid Funeral Services Helena-West Helena and from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. tonight at the Cummings Street Baptist Church in Memphis.

Eric was born July 7, 1959 to William Henry Moore and the late Judy Deloris Olloway-Moore in the Southland community. He died due to an accident on his job Sept. 11, 2008 in Memphis.

His mother, Judy Deloris Olloway-Moore, preceded him in death.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Carol Jones-Moore of Memphis; his father, William Henry (Anne) Moore of Southland; nine children and five grandchildren; five brothers, James Moore, Stevie Moore, Charner Moore and Norris Moore, all of Southland and William H. (Deborah) Moore of Milwaukee, Wis.; three sisters, Jean Moore, Toy Ann (Johnny) Williams of Southland and Beulah (Willie Lee) Bluefer of Little Rock; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Charles L. Thompson

Helena-West Helena, Ark. - Charles L. Thompson, 83, of Helena-West Helena passed away Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2008 at his home. He was born June 29, 1925 in Arkadelphia. He was the son of Charlie and Grace Thompson.

He leaves his daughter, Dianne Craig and her husband, Clifford Craig of Batesville; a son, Richard Thompson of Helena-West Helena; four grandchildren, Brian Groves of Batesville, Ashley Nicholson of Pleasant Plains, Nikki Thompson of Sherwood and Mallory Thompson of Sherwood; three great-grandchildren, Zack Groves of Batesville and Ashdan and Haley Allgood of Pleasant Plains; and several nieces and nephews.

His wife of 53 years, Margie Thompson; his parents; two sisters, Lou Kingery and Evelyn Schultz; and two brothers, Raymond Thompson and Wayne Thompson, preceded him in death.

Mr. Thompson was a member of the West Helena United Methodist Church for 50 years and served as chairman of the trustees for 16 years, secretary of the West Helena United Methodist Men and served on the board for the West Helena Methodist Pre-School.

Thompson was the owner and operator of the American Termite and Pest Control Co. in West Helena for 29 years. He was in the pest control business since 1949 and was president of the Arkansas Pest Control Association in 1983 and 1988, and served as secretary and treasurer of the Arkansas Pest Control Association.

He was a member of the American Legion and a past member of the Masonic Lodge.

He served in Germany in the U.S. Army for two years.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, Sept. 26, 2008 at 10 a.m. at the West Helena United Methodist Church. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Roller-Citizens. Burial will be in the Bethlehem cemetery at Joan, Ark. at 4 p.m. Friday.

Pallbearers will be John Gray, Eddie Schieffler, Clyde Kingery, J.R. Schultz, Floyd Jones and Ramey Stiles. Honorary pallbearers are members of the Arkansas Pest Control Association and members of the West Helena Methodist s Men s Bible Class.

John H. Carruth

Helena-West Helena, Ark. - Funeral services for John H. Carruth, 96, of Poplar Grove will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 11, 2008 at the Springlake Baptist Church on Southland Road. Burial will follow in the Jackson Memorial cemetery in Southland.

Visitation and wake will be held from 3 to 5 today in the Brown s Home for Funerals chapel in Helena.

Elang Castor Jones Jr.

Helena-West Helena, Ark. - Funeral services for Elang Castor Jones Jr. will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 11, 2008 at the Phillips, Lee, Monroe and Desha District Center at Helena Crossing. Burial will be in Oak Grove cemetery in Helena-West Helena.

Jones born Jan 4, 1949 to Elang and Ora Lee Jones in Holly Grove, died Oct. 2, 2008 at Helena Regional Medical Center.

Lang confessed a hope in Christ at an early age.

His parents and four sisters preceded him in death.

He leaves to cherish his memory his children, Sandra, Grey (Joyce), Gregory (Linda) of Fort Leonard Wood, Mo., Kitsonia, Breon, Taffany, Lashunda, all of Helena- West Helena and Minnie Jones of Lake View; two sisters, Nadie Campbell of East St. Louis, Ill., and Diane Redmon of Helena-West Helena; four brothers, William (Melissa) Jones, Larry Jones both of Helena-West Helena, Lester (Annie) Jones of Lake View, Robert (Pearl) Jones of Kansas City, Mo.; 16 grandchildren; a special friend, Mildred Scales; a caregiver, Gwendolyn Wade; and a host of uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.

Jackson and Highley Funeral Home will direct services.

Euna Belle Burkes-Taylor

Helena-West Helena, Ark. - Funeral services for Euna Belle Burkes-Taylor, 103, of Prarie View, Texas formerly of the Southland Community will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 21, 2008 at the Springlake Baptist Church in the Southland Community. Rev. Robert Taylor will officiate. Burial will be in the Spring Lake cemetery in the Southland Community.

Viewing will be from noon until 1 p.m. prior to the service at the church.

Born Feb. 7, 1905 in Phillips Bayou in Lee County to Solomon and Myra Etta Burke, died Sunday, June 15, 2008 in Prairie View, Texas.

She and her late husband were well respected, longtime active members of the Southland Community and set an excellent example in an enduring marriage sharing 79 years of marriage until his death Sunday, July 10, 2005.

Taylor graduated from Southland Institution May 15, 1923 and graduated in 1925 from the St. Louis Commercial College. She taught at Pillow Hill in Lee County. In her 90 s she served as a volunteer at the Adult Care Center in Southland Community and at the age of 95 was honored by the governor of Arkansas as the oldest active volunteer, and received an award in Hot Springs.

The last three years she lived in Prairie View with her daughter and will still active in her new church and with her new community friends.

Her beloved husband, Rev. William Taylor Sr., and four of her children preceded her in death, James, William Jr., Lawrence and Annie Mae Taylor.

She leaves to cherish her memory six children, Maxine (Isadore) Johnson of Detroit, Mich., Robert (Herman) Taylor of Chico, Calif., Doris Eames of Carson, Calif., Lillian (Charles) Wade of Corona, Calif., Earlene (Ronald) Leverett of Prairie View, Earl (Stephanie) Taylor; two daughters-in-law, Marion Taylor of River Rouge, Mich., and Ethel Alexander of Chicago, Il. and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and Southland Community family and friends.

Kincaid Funeral Services Inc. will direct services.
