Helena-West Helena, Ark. - Funeral services for Brenda (Giles) White, 52, of Helena and formerly of Rondo, will be held noon Friday, Nov. 28, 2008 at the Friendship M.B. Church in Rondo with Rev. Nathanial Hull Sr. officiating. Burial will follow in Friendship cemetery also in Rondo.
White was born Jan. 25, 1956 in Lexa to the late Martha Bailey. She confessed a hope in Christ at age 11 at the Friendship M.B. Church where she remained a faithful member in the youth choir as well as youth choir director.
She was a kind-hearted person who had a natural sense of humor that could be attributed to her mother, the late Martha Bailey and her grandmother, the late Ophelia Bailey Williams, who shared in the delight of raising her. Both preceded her in death.
She was a 1975 graduate of Barton High School and attended the Arkansas Rehab Center in Hot Springs where she learned the skill of upholstering. She was employed at several places doing upholstery and later opened the Superior Upholstery Shop in Marianna until she became ill. She later became a resident of Crestpark Intermediate Nursing Facility where she resided for 10 years.
She was married
in 1983 to Henry Charles White and to their union a child was born who preceded Brenda in death.
Sister Brenda White died Thursday, Nov. 20, 2008 at Helena Regional Medical Center.
She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Henry Charles White of Marianna; two stepdaughters, Gina White and Patricia White, both of Memphis; mother-in-law, Sarah White; three loving siblings, Helen (Nathaniel) Hull of Rondo, La Verne (Stan) Sims of Fairfax, Va. and Dr. Thomas (Debra) Bailey of Lexa; two sisters-in-law, Elvira Williams and Ada Jordan, both of Memphis; an aunt, Betty Henderson of Rondo; an uncle, Russell (June) Bailey of Gary, Ind.; three nieces, Tammy (D.L.) Richardson of Little Rock, Natalie Hull of Rondo and Vanessa Bailey of Lexa; seven nephews, Stan Hull, Nathanial Hull, Jr., (Laterria) of Hughes, Cory (Jennifer) Sims, D.J. Sims of Fairfax, Va., Trey Bailey and Jonathan Bailey, both of Jonesboro and Jordan Bailey of Lexa and a host of other relatives and friends.

Barnes, born June 27, 1977 in Helena to Lucille Dotson Leak and the late Henry (Bo) Barnes, died Sunday, Nov. 30, 2008 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis.
He confessed a hope in Christ at an early age at the Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church in Marvell.
He grew up in Marvell and attended Marvell Public Schools.
His Big Mama Hattie Dotson; a brother, Kenny Johnson; two sisters, Erica King and Erran King; his father, grandfather, Fletcher Barnes; and uncle, Chris Dotson, preceded him in death.
He leaves to cherish his memory, a loving mother and father, Lucille and Tharmon Leak of Marvell; his fianc , Jacqueline Williams; two sisters, Sherita Salters and Samantha (Terry) Mackie of Baton Rouge, La.; his grandmother, Maebell Barnes of Marvell; 13 aunts, eight uncles, four nieces, two nephews; a close personal friend, pastor Calvin Frierson; a big brother, Kado Brown; and several cousins and close friends.

Dawson, born April 2, 1915 in Arkansas to the late Luther Otis and Pearl Brantley McClendon, died Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2008 at her home near Lexa.
She leaves a son, Van Dawson and wife, Suzanne of Lexa; a daughter, Ceclia Rose and husband, Ronald of Brickeys; a sister, Nettie Mae James of Fayetteville; six grandchildren, Janelle Sellers of Earle, Montie Hobson of Rogers, Ray Dawson Jr. of Brickeys, Van Dawson Jr. of Forrest City, Will Dawson of Lexa, and Melissa Stone of Russellville; and 16 great-grandchildren.
Her parents, her husband, Raymond Vanburen Buck Dawson; a son, Ray Henry Dawson; a brother, Hollis McClendon; and a sister, Virginia Webb preceded her in death.

Helena-West Helena, Ark. - Funeral services for Claudeen Rebecca Young-Davis 78, of the Southland community will be held at noon Saturday, Nov. 22, 2008 at the Kincaid Funeral Services Auditorium at 1164 Highway 49 in Helena-West Helena. Claudeen was the third of eight children born to Evans and Emma Young Sr. on Oct. 11, 1921 in the Southland community. She died Saturday, Nov. 15, 2008 at Helena Regional Medical Center.
Her parents, husband, all of her siblings, and a granddaughter and a great- grandson preceded her in death. She was married
to the late Lawrence W. Davis and they were the parents of six children.

Jones was born Aug. 22, 1947 at Hattiesburg, Miss. to the late Dorothy Elizabeth Teasley and Victor Leroy Bishop. She died Thursday, Nov. 20, 2008 at Methodist University Hospital at Memphis. She was a homemaker who lived at Rena Lara, Miss. and was a member of the United Pentecostal Church.

Hilpert, born March 3, 1915 in Big Sandy, Tenn. to the late Carl Warmack and Bennie Luster Hicks Warmack, died Monday, Dec. 1, 2008 in McAlester.
She leaves two sons, Fred Hilpert and wife, Maxine of Greenville, Ill. and Bobby Hilpert and wife, Carolyn of Grover, N.C.; three daughters, Irene Pollmann of New Baden, Ill., Betty Lou Ray of McAlester, Okla. and Mary McBroom of Helena; 15 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great- grand children.

Jones, who died Friday, Nov. 21, 2008 in Helena, was born Sept. 25, 1935 at Ratio to the late Charles Fayette and Pearl V. Snyder Jones. He was a retired farmer and hunting club caretaker.

Webster was born on Jan. 19, 1922, in Kansas City, Mo. She was a loving mother with a passion for collecting dolls. She leaves three sons, Charles Moon and his wife, Glenda Faye, of Harrisburg, George Webster Jr. and wife, Pat, of Helena and Todd Hudman and wife, Amy, of Poplar Grove; 12 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

ROBBIE G. STATON
Helena-West Helena, Ark. - Funeral services for Robbie Staton, 69, of West Memphis, were held Saturday, Nov. 28, 2008 at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home in Helena-West Helena. Burial was in Sunset Memorial Gardens at Barton.
She was a teacher at Palestine-Wheatley High School in Palestine and was of the Methodist faith. She died Nov. 26, 2008 at Crittenden Regional Hospital.
She leaves a son, Christopher Godwin Staton of Marion; her mother, Lera Ozell Godwin of West Memphis; and a brother, Aubrey Dale Godwin of Helena, to cherish her memory.
