INCLUDING ARMOUR AND SPIEGEL OF CHICAGO AND WAS VICE
PRESIDENT OF TRAMS, INC. OF CHIGACO. SHE WAS A MEMBER OF
FIRST UNITED METHODIST CHURCH OF HEBER SPRINGS. HER HUSBAND
SNOW W. SMART PRECEDED HER IN DEATH ON SEPTEMBER 13, 1988.

HE WAS THE SON OF THE LATE C. C. AND VIRGIE (SHANNON) THORNTON.
MR. THORNTON WAS A RURAL LETTER CARRIER AND INSURANCE SALESMAN
FOR EQUITABLE INSURANCE. HE RETIRED IN 1986 AND HAD BEEN A RESIDENT
OF HEBER SPRINGS FOR THE PAST 14 YEARS. MR. THORNTON WAS A VETERAN
OF WORLD WAR II, HAVING SERVED IN THE UNITED STATES MARINES. HE WAS
A 1948 GRADUATE OF MEMPHIS STATE UNIVERSITY. MR. THORNTON WAS A
MEMBER OF THE LIONS CLUB AND WAS A PAST PRESIDENT OF THE BOLIVAR
LIONS CLUB IN BOLIVAR, TENNESSEE. HE WAS A MEMBER OF THE CHURCH OF
CHRIST AND SERVED AS AN ELDER OF THE CHURCH FOR 30 YEARS.
