Mrs. Fannie A. Landreth Clark of Heber Springs, Arkansas, passed away Monday,
February 3, 2003, at Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock, Arkansas. Born May 21, 1920, at Wilburn, Arkansas, Mrs. Clark was 82 years of age. She was the
daughter of the late Thomas Allen and Fannie Kate (Lee) Landreth.
Mrs. Clark was a homemaker and mother and a longtime resident of Cleburne County.
She was a member of the Heber Springs Nazarene Church. Her husband, Farrell W.
Clark, preceded her in death on December 13, 1992. Mrs. Clark was also preceded in
death by her parents, five brothers, and one sister.
She is survived by:
four sons: Wenzell Clark and his wife, Charlotte, of Kellyville, Oklahoma
Jarrell Clark and his wife, Brenda, of Heber Springs, Arkansas
Milford Lynn Clark and his wife, Diane, of Beebe, Arkansas
and Timothy Allen Clark of Arkansas
two daughters: Betty Arlene Sellers and her husband, Sanford, of Mt. Home, Arkansas
and Barbara Seymore of Heber Springs, Arkansas
21 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
Mrs. Clark is also survived by other relatives and her many friends.
Funeral services for Mrs. Clark will be held Wednesday, February 5, at 10:00 A.M.
at the Olmstead Chapel with Rev. George Petry officiating. Interment will follow in
the Sypes cemetery. Pallbearers will be Eric Seymore, Steven Clark, Danny Clark,
Rick Sellers, Henry Clayton, James Young, and Donald Clark. Honorary pallbearers
are Scott Seymore, Jeremy Clark, Terry Sellers, Brandon Clark, Braden Clark, Chris

Mrs. Ora B. Bennett
Mrs. Ora B. Bennett of Heber Springs, Arkansas, passed away Monday, February 10,
2003, at the Southridge Nursing and Rehab Center. Born January 18, 1906, at Miller,
Arkansas, Mrs. Bennett was 97 years of age. She was the daughter of the late Luther W.
and Lucy (Brewer) Bailey.
Mrs. Bennett was a homemaker and retired cook. She was a lifetime resident of Cleburne
County and was a member of the South Side Baptist Church at Heber Springs. Her
husband, Ronie L. Bennett, preceded her in death in 1984.
She is survived by:

and Victor Bennett of Pangburn, AR
two daughters: Kathleen Hazelwood of Rose Bud, AR
and Bobby Sue Cothren of Heber Springs, AR
one brother: Ewing Bailey of Greers Ferry, AR
three sisters: Jewell Pettit and Faye Henry, both of Heber Springs, AR
and Virgie Hiester of Modesto, California
and twelve grandchildren.
Mrs. Bennett is also survived by other relatives and her many friends.
Visitation will begin at 12:00 noon Tuesday, February 11, at Olmstead Funeral Home,
Inc. Funeral services for Mrs. Bennett will be held Wednesday, February 12, at
2:00 P.M. in the Olmstead Chapel with Rev. Ervin Clayton officiating. Interment will
follow in Cleburne County Memorial Gardens. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

Zelma Elvena Lynn Barlow
Zelma Elvena Lynn Barlow was born June 20, 1912, at Success, Arkansas, in Clay
County. She died Monday, February 10, 2003, at Heber Springs, Arkansas. She was
the daughter of the late T. E. and Cora (Lewis) Lynn.
Mrs. Barlow was a wonderful homemaker, cook, wife and mother and a friend to all
who knew her. She loved the Lord and was of the Baptist faith. She was preceded
in death by her husband, Tom Barlow on December 14, 1992, and by two sons, Thomas
Truman Barlow on July 11, 1935, and Royce Alton Barlow on July 29, 1935.
She is survived by:

and Leon Barlow of Hot Springs, Arkansas
one daughter: Peggy Zwerneman of Hot Springs, Arkansas

the Olmstead Chapel at Heber Springs with Bro. Larry Wilhite officiating.
Interment will follow in the Bethesda cemetery at Rose Bud. Pallbearers will be her
nephews: Donald and Billy Lynn of Searcy, Arkansas, Kenneth Lynn of Springdale,
Arkansas, Junior Tapley of Greenbrier, Arkansas, and Sherman and Larry Murphree of

Mrs. Bertha May Taylor
Mrs. Bertha May Taylor of Wilburn, Arkansas, passed away Tuesday, February 11, 2003,
at the Southridge Nursing and Rehab Center in Heber Springs, Arkansas. Born in
Cleburne County, Arkansas, on May 10, 1910, Mrs. Taylor was 92 years of age. She
was the daughter of the late David and Emma Susan (Snellings) Magness.
Mrs. Taylor was a homemaker and retired teacher. She enjoyed sewing and quilting.
A resident of Wilburn most of her life, Mrs. Taylor s religious belief was Methodist,
and she was a member of the Wilburn Community Church. Her husband, Monroe C. Taylor, preceded her in death on
December 7, 1976. She was also preceded in death by her parents, her sister, her brothers Carroll, Ira C. Babe , and D. F. Buddy , and
her half brother, Ben Barnum.
Survivors include:
two sons: Gary Taylor of Wilburn, Arkansas
and Jack Taylor of Delaware, Ohio
two daughters: Iris Bailey and Judy L. Taylor, both of Wilburn, Arkansas
seven grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, and one great, great grandchild.
Mrs. Taylor is also survived by other relatives and her many friends.
Visitation will be held Saturday, Feb. 15, from 6:00-8:00 P.M. at Olmstead Funeral
Home, Inc. Funeral services will be held Sunday, Feb. 16, at 2:00 P.M. at the Wilburn
Community Church with Rev. Samuel Wildmon officiating. Interment will follow in

William L. Davis, Jr.,
William L. Davis, Jr., 68, of Little Rock, died unexpectedly at his home on Tuesday,
February 11, 2003. He was born in Pocahontas on February 10, 1935, to the late Anna
Inez Marsh and W. Lovard Davis.
Bill is survived by his devoted wife of 51 years, Darline Yates Davis; two daughters
Marsha Janelle Davis of Ozark, and Mary Elizabeth Davis of Little Rock; and one
granddaughter, Celeste Hartsook of Fayetteville. He is also survived by one sister,
Annabelle Clinton Imber of North Little Rock, and one nephew, William P. Clinton of
Little Rock. Surviving aunts and uncles include G. Oleta Keene and her husband Charles
A. Keene and Clark Marsh, all of Pangburn. He leaves behind a whole host of Marsh,
VanPatten, Crook and Davis cousins.
Bill was a devoted husband, proud father, grandfather, and brother, and a good and
faithful son and nephew. He was the strength of our family and took care of us all. Bill
was always there for friends and neighbors who needed him.
After growing up in Heber Springs and graduating from Heber Springs High School,
Bill, Darline, and Marsha went to Fayetteville where he earned a Bachelor s Degree of
Science in Agriculture and a Master s Degree in Science from the University of
Arkansas. He went to work for the U.S. Department of Agriculture in 1959, later joining
the Foreign Agricultural Service. Throughout his entire career with F.A.S. that spanned
32 years, he promoted American agricultural products, especially from his home state, in
the world market. Bill and his family were posted in Turkey, Kenya, China, Japan, and
Mexico. In 1981, he received an award for superior service from USDA, and, on
March 20, 1985, the President of the United States, with the advice and consent of the
U.S. Senate, appointed him Minister-Counselor for the United States Foreign Service.
Following his retirement in 1991, Bill and Darline moved back to Arkansas, where
he devoted himself to caring for family and friends and spending time in his garden. He
was active in the Chenal Valley Property Owners Association, and, during each tax
session, he volunteered his time for AARP Foundation s Tax-Aide Program (People
Helping People). Bill also enjoyed being active in Democratic Party politics. He
worked in the 1992 Clinton for President Campaign, as well as Congressman Vic
Snyder s election campaigns. His sister, Annabelle, became the first woman ever elected
to the Arkansas Supreme Court as a result of his tireless efforts.
Visitation will be held on February 13, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Olmstead Funeral Home
in Heber Springs. Services will be on February 14, at 2 p.m. at the First United
Methodist Church in Heber Springs. Burial will be held in the Henderson cemetery at Pangburn.

Mr. Milford Gordon Bell
Mr. Milford Gordon Bell of Heber Springs, Arkansas, passed away Tuesday,
February 11, 2003, at his home. Born in Heflin, Alabama, on November 27, 1918,
Mr. Bell was 84 years of age. He was the son of the late Walter Reginald and Annie
Effie (Moon) Bell.
Mr. Bell was a retired sanitation worker and had been a resident of Heber Springs
for 51 years. He served in the U. S. Army, was a veteran of World War II and
was held as a prisoner of war in Germany for seven months. His religious belief
was Assembly of God. Mr. Bell was preceded in death by one daughter, Louise Bell
Martin of Searcy and by one granddaughter, Patricia M. Bell Hussman.
He is survived by:

one son: James E. Bell of Rose Bud, Arkansas
two grandsons: Edward Bell and Richard Hopkins, both of Rose Bud, Arkansas

Mr. Lew Dvorak
Mr. Lew Dvorak of Edgemont, Arkansas, passed away Sunday, March 9, 2003, at
the Utah Valley Regional Medical Center in Provo, Utah. Born in Chicago, Illinois,
on September 26, 1933, Mr. Dvorak was 69 years of age. He was the son of the late
Laddie and Hannah (Vodrazka) Dvorak.
A resident of Cleburne County since 1987, Mr. Dvorak was a sales representative for
Exxon. He was a veteran of the United States Navy.
Survivors include:

two daughters: Pat Oboyle of Greers Ferry, AR,
and Geri Lynn McCafferty of Willow Brook, Illinois,
one brother: Laddie Dvorak of Indiana,
