Mrs. Hazel Dell Brown of Searcy, Arkansas, died Thursday, May 22, 2003, at Beverly Health Care in Searcy. Born in Floral, Arkansas, on July 29, 1928, Mrs. Brown was 74 years of age. She was the daughter of the late Christopher and Myrtle (Gay) Nicholson. Mrs. Brown had lived at Searcy for the past seven years and was a former resident of Floral. She was a homemaker and a retired custodian for Floral Elementary School. She was a member of the Floral Baptist Church. Her husband, Welton Leon Brown, preceded her in death on December 8, 1997.

Visitation will be held Friday, May 23, from 12:00 noon to 9:00 P.M. at the Olmstead Funeral Home in Heber Springs. Services will be held Saturday, May 24, at 2:00 P.M. at the Floral Baptist Church with Rev. Richard Roberts officiating. Interment will follow in the Cedar Grove cemetery. Mrs. Dorothy Louise Hill of Fairfield Bay, Arkansas, passed away Thursday, May 22, 2003, at Southridge Village Nursing and Rehab in Heber Springs, Arkansas. Born in Arlington, Texas, on April 24, 1921, Mrs. Hill was 82 years of age. She was the daughter of the late P. G. and Clara Mae (Tapp) Sanders. Mrs. Hill was a former resident of Corpus Christi, Texas, and was a retired substitute teacher. Her religious belief was Baptist. She was preceded in death by her husband, Montie Joe Hill; her parents; two brothers, J. R. Sanders and Lloyd Sanders; and two sisters, Ruby Nell Sanders and Barbara McDonald.

two daughters, Dorothy Sue Noble of Heber Springs, AR and Donna Joyce Fortner of Blue Ridge, Texas

nine grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. Mrs. Hill is also survived by other relatives and her many friends.

Mrs. Saundra George
Mrs. Saundra George of Heber Springs, Arkansas, passed away Wednesday, May 21, 2003, at Heber Springs. Born in Akron, Ohio, on August 18, 1944, Mrs. George was 58 years of age. She was the daughter of the late John and Josie (Spring) Ameigh. Mrs. George was a resident of Cleburne County most of her life and worked with the Cleburne County Circuit Clerk. She was also a mother and homemaker. Mrs. George was a member of the Wilburn Community Church. She was preceded in death by her husband Thomas J. George on October 23, 1998. She is survived by four daughters, Sheryl Brown and Melissa Cannon, both of Heber Springs, AR Kimberlee Thomas of Bono, AR and Angela Webb of Wilburn, AR four brothers, Charles Ameigh of St. Louis, Missouri Rex Ameigh of Tennessee Calvin Ameigh of Indiana and Rick Ameigh of Wilburn, AR and twelve grandchildren. Mrs. George is also survived by other relatives and her many friends. Visitation will be held Thursday, May 22, from 5:00-7:00 P.M. at Olmstead Funeral Home. Services will be held Friday, May 23, at 2:00 P.M. at the Olmstead Chapel with Rev. Samuel Wildmon officiating. Interment will follow in the Antioch cemetery.

Donald Foster Dace, 76, of Heber Springs went to be with the Lord on May 19, 2003, at his home. He was born February 25, 1927, in Bismark, Missouri. He was an active member and deacon at Tumbling Shoals Baptist Church. He was a Gideon and a member of National Association of Retired Federal Employees. After retiring from the Soil Conservation Service, he worked as a farm and real estate appraiser. He enjoyed many hobbies including trains, raising chickens, genealogy, travel and most of alt spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry Foster and Harriett Bond Dace, his brother, Douglas, and his wife of 41 years, Mary Alice Franklin Dace. He is survived by his wife, Marjaleen Jarry Dace; three daughters, Sarah McMullen and her husband, Eddie of Des Arc, Janna Beall and her husband, Byron of Flower Mound, Texas, and Rebecca and her husband, Frank of Denver, Colorado; four step-sons, Ronald and Kim of Austin, Texas, Richard and Margaret of Tampa, Florida, Thomas of Heber Springs, and Denis and Debra of Webster City, Iowa; two brothers, Scott of El Paso, Sam of Conway; and one sister, Judith of Clinton, Missouri. He is survived by five grandchildren, Kayla, Dalton, Colte, Hunter and Macie, 5 step-grandchildren and 4 step-great-grandchildren. He is also survived by other relatives and many friends. Memorials may be made to International Church Planters or to Gideon s International. Funeral services were held May 22 at Tumbling Shoals Baptist Church with Rev. Derek Westmoreland officiating. Interment followed in Rest Hills cemetery in North Little Rock.

at the Central Arkansas Hospital in Searcy, Arkansas. Born in Heber Springs, Arkansas,
on October 19, 1927, Mrs. Nowak was 75 years of age. She was the daughter of the late
James C. and Jeffie (Lampkins) Spier.
Mrs. Nowak was a homemaker and mother. Her religious belief was Lutheran. She was
preceded in death by one brother, James R. Spier.

Mrs. Bernice J. Crawford
Mrs. Bernice J. Crawford of Fairfield Bay, Arkansas, passed away Sunday, February 23,
2003, at the Indian Rock Village in Fairfield Bay. Born in Muscatine, Iowa, on
February 17, 1910, Mrs. Crawford was 93 years of age. She was the daughter of the
late Albert and Jeanne (Keller) Horst.
Bernice was a registered nurse and graduated from nurses training at the Benjamin
Hershey Memorial Hospital of Muscatine, Iowa in 1929. She married
Dr. Anton F.
Beisner of Muscatine, Iowa, on August 13, 1930. In 1949 they moved to Webster City,
Iowa, where they lived until the death of Dr. Beisner in April of 1964. Bernice returned
to the nursing profession from 1964 to 1972. On November 26, 1972, she married Homer E. Crawford and they lived at Webster City, Iowa, until moving to Fairfield Bay,
Arkansas, in 1976.
She had served as Blood Service Chairman for Van Buren County for the American
Red Cross, working at the blood pressure clinic at Fairfield Bay. She was a member of
the Fairfield Bay United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, Arts and Crafts,
Library Volunteers, and Lakeview Chapter 609 of the Order of the Eastern Star at
Edgemont.
Mrs. Crawford is survived by her grandchildren, other relatives, and many friends.
A memorial service will be held at Fairfield Bay Methodist Church on Saturday,
May 24, at 1:30 P.M. with Rev. Bonda Moyer officiating. Arrangements are by

Mrs. Emma (Maul-Pfeifer) Goodman
Mrs. Emma (Maul-Pfeifer) Goodman of Heber Springs, Arkansas, passed away Thursday, May 8, 2003, at Hillcrest Medical Center in Waco, Texas. Born in
Frankfort, Germany, on January 27, 1926, Mrs. Goodman was 77 years of age.
She was the daughter of the late Johann and Ernestine (Mohr) Maul-Pfeifer.
In 1953, Mrs. Goodman moved to the United States and had been a resident of
of Heber Springs since 1974. She was a homemaker and a member of the Sugarloaf
Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband Raymond O.
Goodman on March 14, 1997. Mrs. Goodman was also preceded in death by
one brother Karl Maul-Pfeifer and her parents Johann and Ernestine Maul-
Pfeifer..
Survivors include
her three nephews, Hubert Goodman and his wife, Barbara, of Sherman, TX
Jerry Goodman and his wife, Dwana, of Whitesboro, TX
and Helmut Maul-Pfeifer of Germany
