Kenneth D. Ring, the son of R. O. And Nolia Mae Holliman Ring was born in Heber Springs on January 14, 1942 and passed away at his home in Heber Springs on September 4, 2005 at the age of 63 years. Mr. Ring was a welder and he attended the Gospel Light Baptist Church. He enjoyed playing with his grandchildren and Hank Williams’ music. Survivors are his son Kenneth D. Ring Jr. and wife Betty of Quitman, daughters Malinda Lawson and husband J. R. of Heber Springs and Melissa Ann Tippy and husband Todd of Searcy; three brothers Ira Ring, Calvin Ring, Rayburn Ring; and sister Emilene Haney. Mr. Ring is also survived by 7 grandchildren Brittney Lawson, Paige Lawson, Parker Ring, Joey Ring, Jessica Britton, Jacob Tippy, and Caleb Tippy along with other relatives and many friends.
Visitation will begin on Tuesday September 6, 2005 at Olmstead Funeral Home with family present from 5:00 until 7:00 PM and funeral services will be at 10:00 AM in Olmstead Chapel on Wednesday, September 7, 2005 with interment in St. Mary’s cemetery near Rose Bud, Arkansas, with Rev. Scott Ray McDougal
Scott Ray McDougal, age 24, of Heber Springs, Arkansas, passed away Sunday, September 4, 2005, at Central Arkansas Hospital in Searcy, Arkansas. Born in Seminole, Texas, on August 29, 1981, he was the son of Richard and Jeanne (Burleson) McDougal. Scott had been a resident of Heber Springs since 1983 and was an auto technician. He enjoyed rappelling, hiking, and spelunking, as well as fishing and hunting. Scott was a member of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church. He is survived by his parents, Richard and Jeanne McDougal of Heber Springs; one brother and sister-in-law, Richard W. and Keri McDougal of Searcy; one sister, Amanda Baker of Heber Springs; his grandparents, Mac and Imogene McDougal of Wilburn and Donnie and Wanda Burleson of Heber Springs; one nephew, Miles Baker; one niece, Harley Baker; his aunts, uncles, and cousins. Scott is also survived by other relatives and his many friends.

Monta Mae Ward
Monta Mae Ward, age 91, of Heber Springs, Arkansas, passed away Thursday, September 1, 2005, at the Baptist Health Medical Center in Heber Springs. Born in Cleveland, Missouri, on June 19, 1914, she was the daughter of the late Lamont C. and Ida Mae (Meador) Ward.
Miss Ward was a retired employee of Shaffer Pen and had been a resident of Heber Springs since 1976. She enjoyed crafts and also making crafts. Miss Ward was a member of Heber Springs Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Jessie David Ward, Lamont Ward, and William 'Bill' Ward, and two sisters, Amanda M. Ward and Hope Euler. Miss Ward is survived by three sisters, June Keierleber and her husband, Mel, of Wills Point, Texas, Ruth Sukow of Ocala, Florida, and Dolly Rutherford and her husband, Kenny, of Canton, Missouri; her brother-in-law, Lawrence Euler of Heber Springs; and her sisters-in-law, Eva Ward of Burlington, Iowa, and Dollie Brown and her husband, Wilbur, of Mt. Union, Iowa. Miss Ward is also survived by other relatives and her many friends.

Eldred C. (Boone) Frakes
Eldred C. (Boone) Frakes the son of W. T. and Ada Belle Frakes was born in Steele, Missouri on January 17, 1911 and passed away in Benton, Arkansas on September 3, 2005 at the age of 94 years. Mr. Frakes was a retired salesman and a member of the Higden Church of Christ. He enjoyed reading and had lived in the Greers Ferry for the past 25 years. He was Preceeded in death by his parents and his wife Opal Mae Young Frakes who passed away on March 5, 2003. He is survived by two sons Michael Frakes of Marianna, Arkansas and Dennis Frakes of Houston, Texas, two daughters Nancy Allred of Sardis, Mississippi and Pat Traylor of Benton, Arkansas: One brother Warren G. Frakes and three sisters Wanda Pounders, Evelyn Clark and Marceen Dodd. Mr. Frakes is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren besides nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Graveside services were held Monday September 5, 2005 at Shiloh Crossroads cemetery by Mike Melvin of the Higden Church of Christ. Mary Delaney Montgomery
Mary Delaney Montgomery, the daughter of Joseph V. and Genevieve Francis York Delaney, was born in Niagara Falls, New York, on August 1, 1942 and passed away in Rose Bud, Arkansas, on September 3, 2005 at the age of 63 years. Mrs. Montgomery was a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Parish in Blytheville, Arkansas. She was active in showing and breeding Kerry Blue Terriers as well as rescue work for this breed.She is survived by her father Joseph V. Delaney of Thurmont, Maryland, two daughters Genette Jo Homan of Rose Bud, Arkansas, and Mary Beth Munoz of Ft. Worth, Texas, two grandchildren Sarah and Daniel besides other relatives and many friends.
A memorial service will be held at the First Baptist Church of Rose Bud by Rev. Mitch Vickers at 2:00 PM on Saturday, September 10, 2005 Interment will follow at the St. Patrick’s Grove Section of Mt. St. Mary’s cemetery in Emmitsburg, Maryland, at a later date.

Elva Lorena Maguire the daughter of Charles and Grace Simpson James was born in White County, Illinois on December 23, 1924and passed away at her home in Heber Springs, Arkansas, onOctober 23, 2005 at the age of 80 years.Mrs. Maguire was a homemaker and mother. Her religious belief was Pentecostal. She had been a resident of Heber Springs since 1996 and was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the Tuesday Prayer Shawl Club. Mrs. Maguire was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Grace James, her husband Thomas F. Maguire, a son Thomas W. James, two grandchildren Paul Dale Frye and Tammy Joy Frye. She is survived by a daughter Joyce Bishop and husband Lecil, of Heber Springs, Arkansas: a son John Maguire and wife Jodee of Commerce City, Colorado, and a granddaughter Kiri Maguire of Carmi, Illinois.

Mrs. Rose Marie Brown
Mrs. Rose Marie Brown, age 58, of Heber Springs, Arkansas, passed away Friday, October 21, 2005, at the White County Medical Center in Searcy. Born in Marianna, Arkansas, on August 30, 1947, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Elizabeth Marie (Harris) Hodges. Married to Carroll Brown, Jr. on May 21, 1966, she and her husband were married
for thirty-nine years. A retired cosmetologist, she owned and operated Rose’s Beauty Shop in Wilburn. Rose enjoyed her hobbies of sewing and quilting, and she enjoyed spending time at home in Quitman and spending time with her family. She had been a resident of the Heber Springs area for twenty-eight years and was a member of First Assembly of God Church. In addition to her parents, Rose was preceded in death by three brothers, Jim Hodges, Eldon Hodges, and Rex Hodges. She is survived by her husband, Carroll Brown, Jr. of Heber Springs; her daughter and son-in-law, Sheila and Billy Querry of Benton; her son and daughter-in-law, Rev. Lee and Sheri Brown of Heber Springs; her sister, Martha Kirkpatrick of Searcy; her brother, Lee Hodges of Nebraska; and nine grandchildren, Joshua, Ashlee, Chastity, Amber, Anthony, Austin, Aaron, Kaylee, and Alyssa. Rose is also survived by other relatives and her many friends.

Betty Lou Tackett, age 68, of Quitman, Arkansas, passed away Monday, October 24, 2005, at White County Medical Center in Searcy. Born in Gillette, Arkansas, on June 29, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Arthur Lee and Ethel Elizabeth (Smith) Nick. A resident of Quitman for most of her life, Betty had been an employee of Quitman Public School where she worked for many years as a bookkeeper and secretary. She was a member of Howard General Baptist Church at Quitman. Betty is survived by her husband of forty-six years, Raymond L. Tackett of Quitman;her son and daughter-in-law, Gary Leon and Roxann Tackett of Quitman; one brother, Billy W. Nick of Greenbrier; three sisters, Thelma J. Lisko and Willa M. Dome, both of Quitman, and Wanda L. Shirkey of Ben, Oregon; three grandchildren, Jennifer Tackett, Amber Gillespie, and Chelsea Tackett, all of Quitman; two great-grandchildren, Drake Gillespie and Hunter Tackett, both of Quitman; and Marco Sanchez, a 1976 foreign exchange student from Quito, Ecuador, who attended school at Quitman and was adopted by the Tackett family. Mrs. Ora B. Bennett of Heber Springs, Arkansas, passed away Monday, February 10,
2003, at the Southridge Nursing and Rehab Center. Born January 18, 1906, at Miller,
Arkansas, Mrs. Bennett was 97 years of age. She was the daughter of the late Luther W.
and Lucy (Brewer) Bailey.
Mrs. Bennett was a homemaker and retired cook. She was a lifetime resident of Cleburne
County and was a member of the South Side Baptist Church at Heber Springs. Her
husband, Ronie L. Bennett, preceded her in death in 1984.

She was a member of the Drasco General Baptist Church. Mrs. Liles was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Arlie Hester; and one sister, Arvema Northrup. She is survived by her husband, Edward Liles of Drasco; two sons, Kenneth Liles of Searcy and Jimmy Liles of Drasco; one daughter, Nora Stevens of Prim; one brother, Arnold Hester of Mt. Margot Kay Lambert
Margot Kay Lambert, age 65, was born October 29, 1939 in Sledge, Mississippi. She entered heaven from her home on Sunday, October 16, 2005 after an eleven year battle that took everything but her strong, beautiful spirit. She is joyful as you read this being with her friend and LORD - JESUS CHRIST. Her life was lived in faith, hope and love. While going through the dying process she never stopped writing encouraging letters and calling others who were suffering faithfully to offer her support. She blessed her husband, sons and their wives, grandchildren and others in and through her suffering, all the time glorifying GOD.Margot loved teaching, having taught in high school, but her love was teaching Freshman English at the University of Central Arkansas. She was loved dearly by her students.She was a member of First Baptist Church in Heber Springs where she taught a Sunday School Class - a very special group of ladies. She was preceded in death by her parents, W. T. and Katherine (Jenkins) Curtis.Margot is survived by her loving husband Jim and their three sons and their families: Chris and Cristal and daughters Margot Claire and Camille; Craig and daughter Taylor Margot; and Curt and Darlene and daughters Skyler and Noelle.

Lenore V. Gill, age 85, of Heber Springs, Arkansas, passed away Wednesday, October 12, 2005, at Beverly Health Care. Born in Quitman, Arkansas, on November 18, 1919, she was the daughter of the late John P. and Maude (Prater) Vaughan. Mrs. Gill had been a resident of Heber Springs since 1978. She retired from Sears in 1978 in telephone sales. Mrs. Gill attended services at the Nazarene Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Gill, and also by twin infants, and three brothers, Coy, James Doyle, and Jerrell Vaughan. Mrs. Gill is survived by one son, William "Bill" Gill of Rose Bud; one brother, Venoy Vaughan of Tumbling Shoals; five sisters, Johnnie Duncan of Damascus, Cordia Shea of Texarkana, Mary Lou Vaughan of Rose Bud, Ruth Attendorn of Heber Springs, and Pat Canterberry of Mabelvale; two grandchildren, Brandy and Shane; and her nieces and nephews. Mrs. Gill is also survived by other relatives and her many friends.

Fred Daniel Gardner
Fred Daniel Gardner, 73, of Quitman, died Thursday, October 6, 2005. He was born in Thayer, Missouri, in Oregon County, to the late Clifton and Elise (Cargile) Gardner on November 23, 1931.
Educated in both Arkansas and Missouri, Mr. Gardner was a graduate of Alton High School in Alton, Missouri. He spent two years in the United States Army serving in Korea, and he was a lifetime member of the Rice Young V.F.W. Post #7514.
Mr. Gardner was employed for twenty-three years with Frisco Railroad and five years as an over the road truck driver, owner and operator. He was a member of Masonic Lodges Holland #158, Choctaw #617, Wileys Cove #524, Pleasant Grove #380, and Calf Creek #426. He was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Cadron Chapter #581 and dual membership with Morning Star #633. Mr. Gardner served as a member of the Quitman City Council. He was a lifetime member of the Rice Young V.F.W. Post #7514. He attended Higden Church of Christ.
He is survived by his wife, Ellen; sister, Noble Jean Beene, both of Quitman; sons, Billie Gardner of Thayer, Missouri, and Danny Gardner of D’Iberville, Mississippi; stepchildren, Ted Crenshaw and Sherri Friesen, both of Quitman step-grandchildren, Jason Clark and wife, Cecely, Emily Crenshaw, Lance Friesen, Jesse and Sadie Gardner, Casey and MaKenzie Gardner. Mr. Gardner is also survived by other relatives and his many friends.
Graveside services will be held Saturday, October 8, at 2:00 p.m. at Mt. Pleasant cemetery in Quitman. Pallbearers will be Masonic brothers. Arrangements are by Olmstead Funeral Home, Inc.
Francis Marie Rackley
Francis Marie Rackley, age 54, of Heber Springs, Arkansas, passed away Friday, October 7, 2005, at Baptist Health Medical Center. Born in Heber Springs on May 20, 1951, she was the daughter of the late Thomas "Tommy" and Bertha (Sullivan) Fairfield.
A lifetime resident of Heber Springs, Francis was a homemaker. She enjoyed sewing and taking care of her grandchildren. Her religious belief was Baptist. Francis was preceded in death by her parents and also by one brother, Butch Fairfield.
She is survived by her husband, Edward Rackley of Heber Springs; three children, Rhonda Linderman and husband, C. J., of Hiram, Kenneth Rackley and wife, Marilyn, of Heber Springs, and Mary Clowers and husband, John, of Wilburn; five grandchildren, Kayla Linderman, Cody Linderman, and Brooke Linderman, all of Hiram, and Kendall Clowers and Zachary Clowers, both of Wilburn; two step-grandchildren, Tabitha Baker and Rochelle Baker, both of Heber Springs; and her siblings, Robbie Allen of Ida, Thomas Fairfield of Concord, Doris Perrin of Little Rock, and Irvin Fairfield of Concord. Francis is also survived by other relatives and her many friends.
Visitation will be held Friday, Oct. 7, and Saturday, Oct. 8, from 7:00-9:00 p.m. at Olmstead Funeral Home, Inc. Funeral services will be held Sunday, Oct. 9, at 2:00 p.m. in the Olmstead Chapel with Rev. Terry Mote officiating. Interment will follow in the Antioch cemetery. Pallbearers will be Raymond Sartain, Danny Rackley, Clay Rackley, Larry Goff, Roger Higgs, and Ronnie Higgs. Buster Allen, Buddy Glenn, and Tom Begley will serve as honorary pallbearers. William "Bill" Childs Kingsbery
William "Bill" Childs Kingsbery, Jr., age 84, of Heber Springs, Arkansas, passed away at his home on Monday, October 3, 2005. Born in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, on October 7, 1920, he was the son of the late William Childs Kingsbery, Sr. and Frances Marie (Haynes) Kingsbery. A former resident of West Memphis, Mr. Kingsbery had been a resident of Heber Springs since 1985. He was a retired feed commodities broker and a veteran of World War II, having served in the United States Army. Mr. Kingsbery was a member of the Rotary Club and the First United Methodist Church. He was married
to Kathryn "Kay" Grimes in April of 1941, and they had been married
for sixty-one years when she preceded him in death in January of 2002. Mr. Kingsbery was also preceded in death by one brother, Robert Wilson Kingsbery, and one sister, Marie Potter. He is survived by one sister, Arline Ingraffia of Hattiesburg, Mississippi; four nephews, Bill Ingraffia, Michael Ingraffia, Grimes Shafer, and Byron Shafer; one niece, Francis Potter; his sister-in-law, Peggy Shafer of Heber Springs; his devoted caregiver, Linda Sartain, and numerous other caregivers. Mr. Kingsbery is also survived by his many friends.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 5, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Olmstead Funeral Home, Inc. Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 6, at 2:00 p.m. in the Olmstead Chapel with Rev. John Miles officiating. Interment will follow in Cleburne County Memorial Gardens. Raymond Sartain, Kenneth Barnes, Randy Dalton, Bill Ingraffia, Byron Shafer, and Grimes Shafer will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Harrold Mitchell, Sarge Dent, Jerome Johnson, Chuck Buckman, Cal Turner, and Bill Rankin. Memorials may be made to Hospice. Arrangements are by Olmstead Funeral Home, Inc.
