Paul Milton "Pete" Kaylor, age 83, of Heber Springs, Arkansas, passed away Thursday, August 16, 2007, at the Golden Living Center in Heber Springs. Born in Rose Bud, Arkansas, on July 7, 1924, he was the son of the late Milton and Emma (Fortner) Kaylor.
Mr. Kaylor had been a resident of Heber Springs for thirty-eight years and was a retired employee of the Arkansas Children’s Colony in Conway. He attended South Cross Roads Church. Mr. Kaylor was preceded in death by his former wife, Myrtle Kaylor.
Survivors include his sister, Ruby Moore of Sutter Creek, California, and his nieces and nephews. Mr. Kaylor is also survived by other relatives and his many friends.
Visitation will be held Thursday, Aug. 16, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Olmstead Funeral Home, Inc. Funeral services will be held Friday, August 17, at 2:00 p.m. in the South Cross Roads Church with Rev. Carl Ezra Johnston
Carl Ezra Johnston, age 79, of Sherwood, Arkansas, passed away at his home on Saturday, August 4, 2007. Born in Quitman, Arkansas, on March 27, 1928, he was the son of the late Ezra and Ida (Raye) Johnston.
Mr. Johnston had been a resident of the North Little Rock and Sherwood area for over forty years. After thirty-five years of service, he retired from the Arkansas State Rehabitation Services. Prior he was a high school teacher and superintendent for the Rose Bud School District. Mr. Johnston was a veteran of the Korean War, having served in the United States Army. He was a member of the Faith Baptist Church in North Little Rock where he served as a deacon and Sunday School teacher for more than forty years.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Johnston was preceded in death by one brother, Earnie Johnston.
He is survived by his wife of fifty-four years, Elfreda (Kennedy) Johnston of North Little Rock; two sons, Mike Johnston and wife, Cheryl, and Dr. Alan Johnston and wife, Kelli, all of North Little Rock; two brothers, Earl Johnston of Conway and Jackie Johnston of Quitman; one sister, Lela Gilmore of Quitman; four grandchildren, Dustin, Walt, Daley, and Elizabeth; and two great grandchildren, Riley and Alex. Mr. Johnston is also survived by other relatives and his many friends.
Visitation will be held Monday, Aug. 6, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Faith Baptist Church in North Little Rock. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Aug. 7, at 11:00 a.m. in the Faith Baptist Church with Bro. Freddie Holmes officiating. Interment will follow at 2:30 p.m. in the Goodloe cemetery near Quitman. Pallbearers are Robert Lloyd, Jerry Pierce, Brian Bogle, Dustin Strube, Walt Merriman, and Teddy Townsend. Honorary pallbearers are members of the Oather Blount Sunday School Class, deacons of the Faith Baptist Church, Bobby New, Sam Anderson, and Kenneth Johnston.

Donald Keaton Patterson, Sr.
Donald Keaton Patterson, Sr., age 67, of Pangburn, Arkansas, passed away at his home on Monday, September 3, 2007. Born in Rose Bud, Arkansas, on December 24, 1939, he was the son of the late Lowell Patterson and Loraine Hare Patterson Boyd.
Mr. Patterson was a retired machinist and also a ham operator. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Pangburn. In addition to his parents, Mr. Patterson was preceded in death by one brother, Larry Patterson, and one granddaughter, Lyndsey.
He is survived by his wife, Jacqueline Murphy Patterson of Pangburn; one son, Donald K. Patterson, Jr. of Pangburn; one daughter, Tracy Ann Patterson of Pangburn; two sisters, Rita Bogdon of Round Rock, Texas, and Elaine Layton of Judsonia; one uncle, Carlos Haer of Searcy; and four grandsons, Keaton, Kyle, Murphy, and Zachary. Mr. Patterson is also survived by other relatives and his many friends.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 6, 2007, at 2:00 p.m. in the First Baptist Church of Pangburn with Rev. Allen Cook officiating. Interment will follow in the Henderson cemetery. Frank Rose
Frank Rose, a resident of Heber Springs for the past twenty years, passed away at Baptist Medical Health Center in Heber Springs, Arkansas Monday, January 20, 2003 at the age of 86 years.
Born November 27, 1916 in Chicago, Illinois, the son of the late Martin Paul Rose and Elizabeth Stenzel Rose.
Frank was a retired optician and a member of St. Albert’s Catholic Church of Heber springs. He was an avid bowler and a very good Marksman. He and his wife, Mary retired to Heber springs coming from Cary, Illinois.
He is survived by his wife Mary (Giosa) Rose of Heber Springs.
Son, David F. Rose, Denver, Colorado, daughter, Lynn Sterka, Conway, Arkansas, brother, William P. Rose, Port Richey, Florida.
Three Grandchildren, Richard K. Rose, Steven W. Sterka and Christian B. Sterka.
Five great grandchildren, Ethan and Erin Sterka, Gillian and Gabriel Rose and Alden Sterka.
He is also survived by step Grandson, Ramil Sabado and step great grandson, Mark Sabado, other relatives and his many friends.
A vigil for Mr. Rose will be Wednesday, January 23, 2003 at 7:00 P.M. in the Olmstead Chapel with a mass being held Thursday, January 24, 2003 at 11:00 A.M. in St. Albert’s Catholic Church with Father Vincent Udo Ogbuji officiating.
Interment will be in Cleburne County Memorial Gardens.

Wain Edward Westerman
Wain Edward Westerman, age 58, of Quitman, Arkansas, passed away Thursday, April 3, 2008, at the Baptist Health Medical Center in Heber Springs. Born in Heber Springs on March 29, 1950, he was the son of Dorothy (Pratt) Westerman Stabbs and the late Olan Westerman.
Wain had been a resident of Quitman for the past twenty-five years and installed floor covering. He was a veteran of the United States Army. Wain enjoyed being outdoors and had many hobbies, including golf, coaching youth baseball, boating, hunting, and fishing. He also enjoyed sports and was a true Razorback fan. Wain was raised in the Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his father, Olan Westerman, and one sister.
Survivors include his wife, Kathy (McDonald) Westerman of Quitman; two daughters, Becky Vines and husband, John, of Quitman and Brandy Reynolds and husband, Jeffrey, of Tumbling Shoals; his mother, Dorothy Stabbs of Quitman; three brothers, Johnny Robbins of Rose Bud, Alan Robbins and wife, Patsy, of Mississippi, and Ricky Robbins and wife, Tammy, of Blytheville; one sister, Brenda Rosier and husband, Wally, of Heber Springs; and five grandchildren. Wain is also survived by other relatives and his many friends.

MR. ROLAND FRED ANDERSON, OF CLINTON, ARKANSAS, passed away AT HIS HOME ON THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 14, 2002. BORN IN CHICAGO, ILLINOIS, ON FEBURARY 20, 1925, MR. ANDERSON WAS 77 YEARS OF AGE.
A FORMER RESIDENT OF HEBRON, INDIANA, HE HAD LIVED IN CLINTON SINCE 1982. MR. ANDERSON WAS A RETIRED TRUCK DRIVER AND A VETERAN OF WORLD WAR II, HAVING SERVED IN THE UNITED STATES ARMY. HE WAS A MEMBER OF THE CLINTON CHURCH OF CHRIST.

Alberta Lee 'Berta' Crow
Alberta Lee 'Berta' Crow, age 52, an 18 year veteran with the State Health Department, died April 26, 2008 in North Little Rock, Arkansas.
She was born in St Louis, Missouri on April 13, 1956 to Peggy Sloan. She graduated from Sikeston High School while living with her foster parents, Mary Alsup and the late Caster Alsup of Sikeston, MO.
Berta graduated from Baptist Nursing School in Memphis, TN and was married
to Steve Crow of Jacksonville, March 4, 1978. She is the loving mother of one son and daughter-n-law, Jan and Angelina Crow of Heber Springs, a daughter and son-in-law, Courtney and Brock Bertrand of Fayetteville
and the beloved 'Granna' of Emilie Crow of Heber Springs.
During her years of service to the state, she has served as White County Health Department administrator for over 10 years. She attended First United Methodist Church in Heber Springs. Berta served as a selfless volunteer in the Family Life Outreach Program, and was a board member for the Single Parent Scholarship Organization.
Mrs. Crow was a long-standing member of the Arkansas Public Health Nursing Association and a graduate of the Public Health Leadership Institute. In 2007, she was honored as the 1st recipient of the Public Health Leadership Achievement Award by Arkansas Health Department Director, Dr. Paul Halverston.
She is survived by her immediate family; mother, foster mother; two foster brothers, Steve and Skip Alsup and one foster sister, Rosemary Overby, all of Missouri; as well as countless friends and extended family.
Funeral services were held in Heber Springs at the First United Methodist Church Tuesday, April 29th, at 1:00 pm. Visitation was Monday evening, 5:00 -7:00 pm, Olmstead Funeral Home, Heber Springs.

Wayne Eugene (Gene) Davis
Wayne Eugene (Gene) Davis, age 69, of Rose Bud, Arkansas, passed away at his home on Thursday, April 24, 2008, from Lou Gehrig’s Disease (ALS). Born in Little Rock, Arkansas, on April 2, 1939, he was the son of the late John R. and Myrtis (Lawrence) Davis.
Mr. Davis was a retired truck driver for Safe Way/ Harvest Foods for many years and had been a resident of Rose Bud for seventeen years. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing, roping, gardening and especially growing tomatoes. Mr. Davis was a member of the Rose Bud Church of Christ.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Maurice Davis, and one sister, Charlotte Bitely.
Mr. Davis is survived by his wife, Ruby (Gilbert) Davis of Rose Bud; one son, Wayne Davis and wife, Ellen, of Little Rock; one daughter, Wanda Jensen and husband, Andy, of Rose Bud; one sister, Arlene Bitely of Little Rock; two granddaughters, Crystal Whittington and husband, Daniel, of Searcy and Lisa Jensen of Little Rock; and two great grandchildren, Mia and Aiden. Mr. Davis is also survived by other relatives and his many friends.

Charles Andrew Linn
Charles Andrew Linn, age 77, of Heber Springs, Arkansas, passed away Wednesday, April 23, 2008, at the White River Medical Center in Batesville. Born in Heber Springs on August 19, 1930, he was the son of the late Andrew and Geneva (Pate) Linn.
A lifetime resident of Heber Springs, Mr. Linn enjoyed his career as a freight truck driver. He was a veteran of the United States Marines and a member of the V.F.W.
Mr. Linn enjoyed dogs and riding four wheelers.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister. Mr. Linn is survived by two brothers, Doug Shearer and wife, Ina, of Wilburn and Mack Shearer and wife, Jan, of Rose Bud; one sister, Geraldine (Shearer) Lucas and husband, Fred, of Sherwood; one nephew, Chuck Cossey and wife, Laura, of Springfield, Illinois; and two nieces, Sue Webb and Johnnie Baker, both of Batesville; Mr. Linn is also survived by other relatives, nieces and nephews, and his many friends.

Asa Doyle Harrelson
Asa Doyle Harrelson, age 83, of Heber Springs, Arkansas, passed away Friday, April 18, 2008, at the Southridge Village Nursing Center in Heber Springs. Born in New Edinburgh, Arkansas, on September 25, 1924, he was the son of the late John Ezra and Katie Mae (Hargraves) Harrelson.
Doyle was a graduate of Ouachita Baptist University and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a retired owner of a furniture manufacturing business. Doyle was a member of First Baptist Church of Heber Springs, where he served as a deacon for many years.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Mary Juanita Harrelson; one son, Gregory Trawick Harrelson; and one brother, J. E. Harrelson.
Survivors include his wife, Jessie Faye Scruggs Harrelson, whom he married
Sept. 5, 1993; two daughters, Pat Harrelson (Bill Hirst) and Jan Harrelson, all of Sherwood; one son, Gary Doyle Harrelson of New Orleans, Louisiana; and one grandson, Roy Trawick Harrelson of Ward. Doyle is also survived by other relatives and his many friends.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 23, at 10:00 a.m. in the First Baptist Church of Heber Springs with Dr. J. R. DeBusk officiating. Interment will follow in the Pearson cemetery. Kennith Ray Dillard
Kennith Ray Dillard, age 77, of Prim, Arkansas, passed away Wednesday, April 16, 2008, at the Baptist Health Medical Center in Heber Springs. Born in Prim on August 27, 1930, he was the son of the late Robert and Birdie (Haley) Dillard.
A lifetime resident of Prim, Mr. Dillard was a farmer. He was a retired employee of Skil Corporation and had also worked for Wal-Mart. Mr. Dillard was a member of the Parma Full Gospel Church.
Mr. Dillard is survived by his wife, Freda (Stubbs) Dillard of Prim; one daughter, Judith Carlton and husband, Terry, of Parma; two granddaughters, Amara Rushing and husband, Nick, of Rushing and their son, Elisha Rushing, and Andrea Carlton of Parma and her son, Elijah Carlton. Mr. Dillard is also survived by other relatives and his many friends.

Terry Allen (Taf) Files, II
Terry Allen (Taf) Files, II, age 32, of Heber Springs, Arkansas, passed away Monday, April 14, 2008, at the Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock. Born in Heber Springs on April 6, 1976, he was the son of Lynnette (Crannell) Files and the late Terry Allen Files.
A lifetime resident of Heber Springs, Taf graduated from high school in 1994 and attended Hendrix College in Conway. Although he was never able to participate in team sports, Taf was the manager of the Heber Springs Panthers sport teams throughout his junior high and high school years. He was an avid sports enthusiast and was in the process of opening Taf’s Dugout, a new baseball card shop. Taf enjoyed golf, and he and his Grandfather Crannell had amassed a large golf ball collection. But his favorite pastime was being with friends and family. Those who knew him enjoyed his unique viewpoint and loving spirit. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Heber Springs.
Taf was preceded in death by his father, Terry Allen Files, I, and one brother, Glenn Monroe Files.
He is survived by his mother, Lynnette Files of Heber Springs; his grandmothers, Nora Files and Evelyn Miley, both of Brinkley, Arkansas; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins and his many friends.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 16, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Olmstead Funeral Home, Inc.
