Ruth Heath
Ruth Helen Heath of Denver, Colo., 62, died January 27, in Denver.
She was the daughter of B.J. and Minnie Rucks. She attended Stamps Ellis High School and Hope Vocational School for nursing.
She was employed at Diamond Shamrock and was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Otis Rucks, one daughter, Robbie Hempstead, and a grandson, Strodney Witcher.
She's survived by: eight children, Patsy Witcher and husband, Charles of Waldo, Patricia Prigett and husband, Eugene of Parris, Calif., Charles Brown of Dallas, Texas, Terry Robertson and wife, Sonya of Hope, Wesley Hempstead and wife, Marion of Gurdon, Billy Grissom and wife, Terri, Darren Sparks and wife, Candy, Earnest Heath, all of Denver; three brothers, Charles, Harry, and Robert Rucks all of Baltimore, Md., eight sister, Ruby Prevore, Delvis Adams, both of Waldo, Janice Johnson of Gurdon, Sandra Davis of Los Angeles, Calif., Hazel Haze of Toledo, Ohio, Earnestene Easter of Compton, Calif.; nineteen grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
Funeral was held Saturday, February 2, at 2 p.m. at the Lakeside cemetery in Stamps, under the direction of Marks Funeral Home, Inc. of Magnolia. Officiating was Rev. John H. Witcher.
Visitation was Friday at 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Pallbearers were Grey Gilbert, Devin Dunn, Charles and Jamarkey Witcher, Eugene Prigett, Jr., Pierre Robertson, Terry Cornish, Michael.
Honorary pallbearers were Charles Brown, Wesley Hempstead, Terry Robertson, Darren Sparks, Earnest Heath, and Billy Grissom.
Flower bearers were Roberta Rucks, Charles Withcer, and Eugene Prigett, Sr.

Jacob Reyenga
Jacob Ralph (Jakie) Reyenga, 89, of Benton, Louisiana, formerly of Emmet, died February 5, 2002, at Garden Court Nursing Center in Bossier City, Louisiana after a lengthy illness.
He was born December 1, 1912, in Grand Prairie, Missouri, to Jake W. and Edna Bridgman Reyenga.
He was retired from the local 406 Operating Engineers and also a farmer until 1999, when he suffered from a stroke.
He was the oldest living Mason of the Evergreen Lodge #175 in Centerville.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Ralph Windell Reyenga, and by one grandson, Ralph Goodnight.
He will be missed by his family and friends. He was very supportive of his family and friends and was loved by many.
His survivors include: his wife, Ruby Inez Reyenga of Benton, La.; one sone, Curtis Dean Reyenga of Benton, La.; one daughter, Melanie Sue Gayle of Shreveport, La.; four brothers, Josh, Earl, Howard and Herman Reyenga; four sisters, Earline Williamson, Pearl Richardson, Vera Dolan, and Katherine Reyenga; eight grandchildren, Joe Goodnight, Curtis Goodnight, Cathy Turner, Leslie Matthews, Matt Reyenga, Marty Reyenga, Winde Reyenga, and Josh Reyenga; seven great-grandchildren, Erica Turner, Morgan Matthews, Joe Henry Goodnight II, Regan Lynn Goodnight, and Valerie Renee Goodnight.
Graveside services were 4 p.m., Thursday, February 7, 2002, at Snell cemetery, in Emmet. Arrangements under the direction of Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home in Hope.

Dr. Jack Harrison
Jack W. Harrison, 66, of Hot Springs, formerly of Texarkana, died Sunday, February 3, 2002, in a Little Rock hospital.
Dr. Harrison was born September 10, 1935, in Wynne.
He was a Medical Doctor certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology having practiced in Texarkana for more than 20 years. He also had medical practices in Prescott, Searcy and Hot Springs.
Dr. Harrison was a member of First United Methodist Church in Hot Springs and had served in the U.S. Air Force. He was a graduate of Southern Methodist University and University of Arkansas Medical School.
Survivors include: his wife, Norma Landes Harrison; three daughter, Beverly Vance Harrison of Davis, Calif., Sara Ellen Oliver of Malvern and Kathryn Wills Harrison of Little Rock; one step son, Jon Marc Pringle of Dallas, Texas; two step daughters, Jan Carol Price and Jean Larkin Jarvis of Texarkana, Texas; one brother, Frank Wills Crabb of Benton; two sister, Frances Wills Pentecost of Doddridge; nine grandchildren; one great-grandson; Ms. and Mary Ann Bemberg of Little Rock and a number of nieces and nephews.
Memorial services were 1 p.m. Wednesday, February 6, 2002, at First United Methodist Church in Texarkana, Arkansas with Rev. David Wilson and Rev. Roy Smith officiating. Burial was in Hillcrest Memorial Park with John T. Winham officiating. Arrangements by Texarkana Funeral Home.
The family was at the Jarvis residence, 6304 Pecan Cove, Texarkana, Texas.
Those wishing to memorialize Dr. Harrison, may make contributions to First United Methodist Church in Hot Springs or the American Cancer Society.

Thomas Logan
Thomas Rea Logan, 80, of Memphis, Tennessee passed away January 28, 2002, in Memphis Baptist Hospital.
He was born in Prescott in 1921 and was the son of Mr. Emond and Mrs. Pearl Livingston Logan of Prescott.
He graduated from Prescott High School in 1939, attended South Western College in Memphis and received his Engineering Degree at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville.
He was preceded in death by his wife Ruth Harton Logan.
He is survived by one daughter, Judy Benton and one grandchild of Upper Marlboro, Maryland.
Funeral services were February 2, at Memorial Park Church at 10 a.m. Burial was in Memorial Park cemetery.

Madonna Shane
Madonna Louisa Shane, 76, of Prescott, died Tuesday, February 5, 2002.
She was born September 3, 1925, in Louden Township, Illinois to William and Josephine Lilly Long. She was a homemaker.
Cherishing her memory are: three daughters and sons-in-law, Penny and Ken Richards, Linda and Ed Brammar, and Jo Lu Shane; one brother and sister-in-law, Ralph and Inis Long; one sister, Joan Jalbert; four grandsons, Todd Richards, Bret Richards, Sean Brammer and Matthew Phillips; two granddaughters, Jennie Gorena and Laura Ruggeri; and 11 great-grandchildren, Ben Gorena, Zachery Richards, Ambur Richards, Roman Richards, Drew Richards, Nick Gorena, Cade Richards, Skye Gorena, Hunter Brammar, Blaze Gorena, and Camryn Ruggeri.
She was preceded in death by her father William Long, her mother Josephine Lilly Long, two brother James Long and Jesse Long, and five sisters, Lessie Belle Long, Nellie Hissong, Virginia Long, Hazel Connor and Effie Brazle.
Services were held Friday, February 8, 2002, at the Prescott Church of Christ at 10 a.m. with John Billingsley and Howard Horton officiating. Burial followed at the Antoine cemetery.
Services entrusted to the Shackelford Funeral Home in Prescott.

Paul Ghormley
Paul Ghormley, 62, of Prescott, passed away Friday, February 8, 2002.
Ghormley was born December 2, 1939, in Bluff Springs, to Joseph William Ghormley and Era Stokes Ghormley.
Ghormley was a Saw Filer for 23 years at Potlatch.
Cherishing his memory are: his wife of 33 years, Linda James Ghormley of Prescott; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Joseph Williams and Courtney Ghormley of Tulsa, Okla. and Thomas Eran Ghormley of Little Rock; one brother, Bill Ghormley of Prescott; one sister, Helen Daniels of Rosston; several nieces and nephews and one very special sister-in-law, Kay Hendrix of Prescott.
Funeral services were Sunday, February 10, 2002, at 2 p.m. at the Shackelford Funeral Home Chapel with Travis George officiating. Burial was at DeAnne cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Nevada County Cancer Association, American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association.

Hellen Herring
Helen F. Herring, 80 of Willisville, died Friday, February 15, 2002 at the Arkansas Heart Hospital in Little Rock.
Mrs. Herring was born April 15, 1921 in Rosston to the late Francis an Artie Dell (Mattison) Martin. She was a machine operator for Peace Flooring Mill and a member of the Mt. Olive Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, David Martin.
Survivors include her husband, Lynn Herring of Willisville; son, Rodney Herring and Ruth of Stephens; daughters and son-in-laws, Sharon Almand and Clifton of Waldo and Lynelle Almand and Harry of Nashville; brother, Jimmy Donald Martin of Dallas, Texas; ten grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Sunday, February 17, at the Mt. Olive Baptist Church with Bro. Wayne Langston and Bro. David Watkins officiating. Burial followed in the Mt. Olive cemetery under the direction of Lewis Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were her grandsons and grandsons-in-laws, Brad Herring, Darren Almand, Damon Almand, Joshua Herring, Eddie Mayberry, Keith Nale, Rodney Langston and Todd Wilson.

John Nichols
John A. Nichols, 84, of Falcon, died Monday, February 18, 2002, at his home.
He was born August 5, 1917, in Rye, to Burdett and Ida Hayes Nichols.
He was a retired cook and farmer. He had cooked for the Missouri Pacific Hospital, the Monticello College and Central Baptist College. He was a cook for the Civilian Conservation Corp. He was a Baptist.
He was preceded in death by his wife Etta Mae Neal Nichols, and by one grandson, Billy Wayne Nichols.
His survivors include: two sons, James R. Nichols of Lufkin, Texas and Wayne Nichols of Alexander; three daughters, Sue Uptigrove of Alexander, Joyce Auld of Hope, and Norma Wilson of Mabelvale; two brothers, Albert Nichols of Warren, and Robert Nichols of Fordyce; one sister, Marie Rice of Warren; 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m., Thursday, February 21, 2002, at Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home Chapel in Hope, with Rev. David Hampton and Rev. Bob Mayfield officiating. Burial followed in Falcon cemetery in Falcon. Arrangements by Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home in Hope.
Family received friends Wednesday, February 20, 2002, from 6-8 p.m., at the funeral home.

Ida Minton
Ida June Minton, 74, of Emmet, died Monday, February 18, 2002, at Christus St. Michael Health System in Texarkana, Texas.
She was born on June 30, 1927, in Lake City to Henry and Hattie Craig Riggs.
She was a retired machine operator with Caterpillar and a member of the Southside Assembly of God Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Nellie Stanton, and Betty Morefield, and one great-grandson, Christopher Small.
Her survivors include: her husband, Earnest Earl Minton of Emmet; two sons, Ronald Dewitt of Emmet, and Eric Dewitt of Burbank, Calif.; one daughter, Sharon McCann of Toulon, Ill.; one stepson, Mike Minton of Peoria, Ill., two sisters, Mamie Goins of Peoria, and Mary Lee Gregory of Skintook, Okla.; 11 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
Funeral service were at 2 p.m., Wednesday, February 20, 2002, at Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home Chapel in Hope, with Rev. Joe Brown officiating. Burial were in Memory Gardens cemetery in Hope under the direction of Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home in Hope.
Family received friends Tuesday, February 19, 2002, from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
