Donald Butler
Donald Glenn Butler, 51, of Pine Bluff, died Sunday, June 9, at Jefferson Regional Medical Center, as the result of injuries received in an automobile/pedestrian accident, Saturday night.
He was born November 19, 1950, at Walnut Ridge, a son of the late Leland Glenn Butler and Dona Mae Henson Butler.
He grew up in Muskegon, Michigan, and graduated from high school in Paragould. He graduated from Southern Baptist College (now Williams Baptist College) in Walnut Ridge with an Associate's Degree. He also attended Arkansas Tech University in Russellville and was a graduate of Columbia School of Broadcasting.
He was in full-time church work for 25 years, and served churches in Hot Springs, Prescott, East Camden, Stuttgart, and Waldron. He had formerly served as music minister for Green Meadows Baptist Church, Shannon Road Baptist Church, Sulphur Springs Baptist Church, and Centennial Baptist Church, all in Pine Bluff. At the time of his death he was minister of music at Greenlee Baptist Church. He had been employed as a sales clerk for Sears at the Pines Mall for the past six years.
He was preceded in death by an infant son in 1984.
Survivors include: his wife, Dianne Takersley Butler, to whom he was married
on February 18, 1978 at Pine Bluff; two daughters, Cynthia Butler and Anita Butler, both of Pine Bluff; two brothers, James David "Lou" Butler of Little Rock and Lee Butler of Mammoth Spring; and one sister, Beth Allender of Perth, Australia.
Funeral services were Wednesday, June 12, 2002, at 10:30 a.m. at Greenlee Baptist Church with Rev. Adam Hughes and Rev. Bobby Hartsfield officiating.
Burial was in Graceland cemetery by Charles E. Fuller Funeral and Memorial Services.
Willie Flemons
Deacon Willie Flemons was born on April 12, 1919, to the parents of Steve and Florence Flemons in Laneburg. He was the seventh of fifteen children. His father, mother, and siblings preceded him in death.
Deacon Flemons died on June 11, to be with the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He was a faithful member of Mt. Ephesus Baptist Church since his youth and served on the deacon board for 50-plus years. He was a good Christian man which was attributive to his being a good neighbor and friend.
He married
Orene Williams on September 7, 1940. To this blessed union was born eight children: two daughters and six sons, one son, Robert D. preceded him in death. He worked diligently at being a loving husband and father and to provide for his family, both physically and spiritually.
Willie Flemons leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Orene; daughters, Bobbie (Uvern) Clay of St. Louis, Mo., and Fannie McCullough of Chicago, Ill.; sons Lee Willis Flemons of Denver, Colo., Sylvester Flemons of Tulsa, Okla., Rickey Flemons of Oakland, Calif., Calvin and Timothy Flemons of Prescott; three sisters-in-laws, Lillie M. Mitchell, Vira L. Flemons, and Mattie L. Charles; 35 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Eric Robertson
Eric A. Robertson, 43, of Prescott, died Thursday, June 13, in Magnolia.
He was a log cutter.
He is survived by his wife, Kathy Riley Robertson; sone, Johnny A.; daughters, Lisa M., Amanda J., and Allison N. and mother Elizabeth, all of Prescott.
Funeral services were held in the chapel of the Shackelford Funeral Home of Prescott at 10 a.m. on Monday, June 17, with burial to follow in the Pleasant Ridge cemetery by the Shackelford Funeral Home.
Visitation was Sunday between 6-8 p.m.
Mabel Ritchie
Mabel Hart Ritchie, 97, of Prescott, died on Sunday, June 16, in North Little Rock.
Mrs. Ritchie was born in Hartsville, Clark County, on April 14, 1905, to John Robert and Carrie Peeples Hart.
She was a homemaker and worked beside her husband, Bryan, who was the Nevada County School Supervisor until his death in 1957. Mrs. Ritchie was then appointed the Nevada County School Supervisor until the 1970's and served in that position until her retirement.
She is survived by three grandchildren: Sharman Fore Langley of Bryant; Susan Fore Nix of Hope; and Jim Fore of North Little Rock.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bryan and daughter Jenelle Ritchie Fore.
Funeral services were Tuesday, June 18, 2002 at 10 a.m. in the Chapel of the Shackelford Funeral Home with Earl Cumbie officiating.
Burial was in the Union Grove cemetery of Blevins under the direction of the Shackelford Funeral Home of Prescott.
Diane Crawford
Mrs. Diane M. Crawford, 43, of Hope, died Sunday, June 16, in Medical Park Hospital in Hope.
She was born on November 21, 1958, in New Orleans, La., to John G. and Wanda Seaton Madden.
She was a homemaker and a Baptist.
She was preceded in death by two daughters and by her father, John G. Madden.
Her survivors include: her husband, Mike Crawford of Hope; one son, Allen Wayne Crawford of Hope; her mother, Wanda Seaton Madden of Hope; two uncles, Larry Seaton of Hope and William Martin Seaton, of Charleston; and three aunts, Alice Rogers of Hope, Helen Cunningham of Marrero, La., Anna Cotter of Enid, Okla.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, June 18, at Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home Chapel of Hope, with Rev. Bobby Joe Wright officiating.
Burial was in Shover Springs cemetery in Shover Springs, arrangements by Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home in Hope.
Family received friends, Monday, June 17, 2002 from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Linda Brasher
Mrs. Linda R. Lowdermilk Brasher, 43, of Brandon, Mississippi and formerly of El Dorado, died Friday, June 14, at her home.
She was a housewife and mother. She was a graduate of both El Dorado High School and Louisiana Tech with a B.A. degree. She was a member Pine Lake Baptist Church, Resourvoir Area, Brandon, Mississippi. She was a Daughter of the Confederacy.
Her survivors include: her husband, Charles S. Brasher of Brandon, Miss.; one son, Ben Henry Brasher of Brandon, Miss.; one daughter, Daisy Elizabeth of Brandon, Miss.; her parents, Winzel Matthew and Ruthal Avery Lowdermilk of El Dorado; and one sister, Karen Lowdermilk Welch of Richardson, Texas.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m., Monday, June 17, at Pleasant Ridge Methodist Church, in Prescott, with Rev. Roy Perdue officiating.
Burial was in Pleasant Ridge cemetery in Prescott. Arrangements by Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home in Prescott.
Family received friends Sunday, June 16, 2002, from 2-4 p.m. at the funeral home.
Clara Simmons
Mrs. Clara B. Simmons, 72, of Prescott, formerly of Blevins, died Monday, June 17, at Wadley Regional Medical Center in Texarkana, Texas.
She was born on April 19, 1930, in Lake Providence, La., to Tom and Katie Moore.
She was a homemaker. She was a member of the Word of Faith Church in Blevins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Otha Simmons, one brother, and eight sisters, and a special friend, Weldon "Doc" Fulton.
Survivors include: two sons, Danny Simmons of Stamps and Gary Simmons of Las Vegas, Nev.; one daughter, Phyllis Thomas of DeAnn; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Services were held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, June 19, at Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home Chapel in Hope, with Rev. Lee Little officiating.
Burial was in Friendship cemetery in McCaskill, under the direction of Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home.
Harold Charles
Mr. Harold D. Charles, 65, from Rockford, Il. (formerly of Prescott), died Monday, June 17, at the University of Wisconsin Hospital, in Madison, Wisc.
He was born May 13, 1937, in Prescott to Chester and Cordia Muldrow Charles.
He retired at age 55 from the U.S. Postal Service with 36 years. He was manager of three local mailing stations in Rockford. He was an avid fisherman, baseball fan, and dedicated to his family, friends, and favorite charities. He could always be counted on for a donation or to lend a hand whenever needed.
He was preceded in death by his father, Chester Charles who died in 1985.
His survivors include: his mother, Cordia Charles of Prescott; his sister, Ozie Jones of Prescott; one brother, Vernon Charles of Rockford, Ill.; special friend, Ethel Purifoy of Rockford, Il.; three uncles, Rufus Muldrow of Prescott, Earnest Charles and Dexter Charles of Seattle, Washington; six aunts, Jessie Sandifer and Lula Franklin of Prescott, Bertha Zachery and Irene Brown of Rockford, Ill., Bessie Maloney of Witchita, Kan., and Pauline Banks of Seattle, Wash., one nephew, Keith of Kentucky; six nieces, Nicole, Antranicque, Kimberly, Mara, LaShawn, and Diamondnicque. and a host of special cousins and friends.
Funeral services were at 1 p.m., Saturday, June 22, at Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home Chapel in Prescott, with Rev. Ivory Curry officiating.
Burial followed in DeAnn cemetery in Prescott.

James Arnett Jr.
James Robert Arnett, Jr. 44, of Prescott, died June 22, 2002 in Buffalo, Texas.
He was born September 19, 1957, in Abeline, Texas.
He was employed by Diversified Drilling. He was a Protestant. His parents are James R. and Ruby M. Grahm Arnett.
His survivors are: his parents, James R. and Ruby M. Graham Arnett; one sister, Deborah Ann Arnett of Dallas, Texas; one niece, Crystal R. Campbell of Arkadelphia; two nephews, Michael Jason Kenworthy and Ian Daniel Marlar both of Prescott; one great-niece, Hayley Campbell; and one great-nephew, Hayden Campbell.
Services were held Wednesday, June 26, at 10 a.m. at Herndon Funeral Home.
Burial followed at Missionary Grove cemetery with Rev. Jerry Westmoreland officiating. Services were under the direction of Herndon Funeral Home.
Visitation was Tuesday, June 25, from 6-8 p.m. at Herndon Funeral Home.
