Mary Connor
Mary Virginia (Gin) Connor of Mt. Pleasant, died December 7, 2006, following an automobile accident in Longview, Texas.
Virginia Wells was born on November 11, 1922, in Prescott, the daughter of Bertie and Abner Wells. She married
Thomas Connor, a flight trainee, in Phoenix, Ariz., in 1942. Their son, Scott, a physician, was born in 1947, and predeceased his mother in 1994. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Martin and Clyde Wells, and a sister, Theron Roberts.
She is survived by her husband, Tom, of Mt. Pleasant; a daughter-in-law, Della Connor of Lufkin; two granddaughters, Alanna Connor of San Antonio, Texas, and Elise Connor of Okla.; nephew, Michael Roberts and wife Sandra of Chapel Hill, N.C., with whom she traveled extensively in the later years of her life, most recently to Provence, France, in April, 2006; nephews, Roy D. (Denny) Parker and wife Yvonne, John Parker and wife Janet; nieces, Jean Delafield and Emily Ann Parker; and by sisters-in-law, Helen Parker and Ann Carter.
Gin worked alongside her husband, a pharmacist, in Bullington Drug for many years in Mt. Pleasant. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Mt. Pleasant, an avid reader and traveler as well as a masterful and gracious homemaker.
A grave side service was held on Saturday, December 16, at 11 a.m. at the Omaha cemetery with Dr. Clint Davis officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cypress Basin Hospice, 207 Morgan St., Mt. Pleasant, Texas 75455. The family wishes to express its sincere gratitude and thanks for the sensitive care provided by the medical team and staff of Good Shephard Hospital in Longview.
Junior Loe
Junior Loe, 75, of Magnolia, died Thursday, Decmeber 21, 2006, at the Magnolia City Hospital.
He was born March 11, 1931, in Bodcaw. Mr. Loe was a retired mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service and served in the United States Army. He was a member of the Corinth Baptist Church in Bodcaw and the American Legion Post #3.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jewel Loe; wife, Christine Loe; brother, Bud Loe; sister, Nancy Loe; grandson, Matthew Loe; and granddaughter, Michelle Epperson.
Survivors include his three sons, Ricky Loe and wife Tina of Village, Stanley Loe and wife Bridget of Waldo and Randy Hight and wife Erico of Magnlia; two daugthers, Patsy Dumas and husband Don of Magnolia and Mavis Higdon and wife Sonny of Magnolia; mother, Estelle Loe of Bodcaw; three brothers, Wayne Loe and wife Betty of Bodcaw, Travis Loe and wife Lynn of Bodcaw, Ouitman Loe and wife Betty Sud of Springhill, La.; three sisters, Lucy Mason and husband Fred of Springhill, La., Dorothy Ladd of Hope and Sue Floyd of Laneburg; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday, December 23, 2006, at 2 p.m. at the Lewis Chapel with Bros. Joe Brown and Chuch Roach officiating. Burial was at Memorial Park cemetery under the direction of Lewis Funeral Home, Inc. of Magnolia. Visitation was Friday from 6-8 p.m.
Pallbearers were Tony Key, Scott Brice, Jackie Lewis, Thomas Barry, Charles Higdon and Joe Higdon.
Faye Wicker
Evelyn Faye Wicker, 54, of Hope, died Dec. 25, 2006, in Blevins.
She was retired from Electrolux (formerly known as Poulan). She was born April 5, 1952, in Prescott. She is the daughter of Dwight and Lois Baker Lane.
She is preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Willie James Lane.
Survivors include her husband, Tony Wicker of Hope; one son, Anthony Wicker of Hope; three daughters, Tammy Melugin and husband, Tony of Bismark; Teri Lee and husband Justin of Arkadelphia, and April Harvey and husband Ricky of Hot Springs; five brothers, Paul Lane and wife Lola of Delight, Thomas Lane and wife Joan of Fayetteville, Olan 'Bucky' Lane and wife Teresa, Joe Lane and wife Brenda, and Benny Lane and wife Linda, all of Blevins; four sisters, Cathy Stuart and husband Jim of Texarkana, Mary Wicker and husband Terry of Curtis, Doris Jean Rhodes and husband Skip of Blevins, and Ruth Adams and husband Bob of Kirby; and eight grandchildren.
Graveside services were Thursday, Dec. 28, at 2 p.m. in Sweet Home cemetery in Blevins with Bro. Michael Mauldin officiating under the direction of Herndon Funeral Home.
Helen Dalrymple
Helen Buchanan Dalrymple, 97, of Prescott, passed from this life on Wednesday, Jan. 31, 2007.
She was born Dec. 20, 1909, to Dr. A.S. and Ethel Tompkins Buchanan. She was an educator, a life long resident of Prescott and the oldest living member of First Presbyterian Church of Prescott where she was a member for over 85 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband of 60 years, Carl Dalrymple, Sr. and her daughter-in-law, Lanora Dalrymple.
She is survived by one son, Carl Dalrymple, Jr. of Prescott; one sister, Katherine Buchanan of Little Rock; three grandchildren, Nita Kay Freeman and Greg of Conway, Al Dalrymple and Teresa and Katherine Crain and Brad, all of Prescott; nine great-grandchildren, Mary Katherine, Emma and Jackson Freeman of Conway, Ashley Clayborn, Dalton, Lane, and Jesse Dalrymple and Hank and Georgie Crain all of Prescott.
Visitation was Saturday, Feb. 3, from 6-8 p.m. at Shackelford Funeral Home in Prescott. Graveside services were at DeAnn cemetery Sunday, Feb. 4 at 2 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Presbyterian Church in Prescott.
Mary Ann Fore
Mary Ann Easterling Fore, 91, of Little Rock, formerly of Prescott, died Wednesday, January 31, 2007, at a hospice facility in Little Rock.
She was born one of six children on Nov. 9, 1915, in Laneburg to James Thomas and Dora Sampson Easterling. She graduated from Laneburg High School. She was a homemaker. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Prescott. She loved to work for the Prescott School System while her children were in school and retired from Prescott Manufacturing Company.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Garland Reed 'Shorty' Fore; three brothers, J.T., Woodrow, and Doug Easterling; and one grandson, David Michael Petty.
Her survivors include two daughters, Judy Petty and Jerry of Plano, Texas and Pamela Herring and Joe of Little Rock; one brother, Calvin Easterling and Beulah of North Little Rock; one sister, Vivien Marguerite Rowe of North Little Rock; two sisters-in-law, Gladys Easterling of Little Rock and Helen Easterling of Trinity, Texas; two granddaughters, Lynn Krautter and Ken of Carrollton, Texas and Amanda Rothwell and Rusty of Alexander; one grandson, John Petty and Julie of Plano, Texas; four great-grandchildren, Kellie Krautter of Carrollter, Texas, Carissa Petty of Plano, Texas, Reagan Lea Rothwell of Alexander, due on March 6; one grandson, Cameron Petty of Plano, Texas; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m., Monday, Feb. 5, at Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home in Prescott. Family received friends Monday, Feb. 5, prior to the service beginning at 12:30 at Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home in Prescott.

Joseph Hart
Joseph Sherrell Hart, 75, of Arkadelphia, died Friday, Feb. 2, 2007 at his home.
He was born Nov. 1, 1931, in Laneburg, the son of the late Eddie M. and Ruth Bolls Hart. He was a retired employee of 38 years for Georgia Pacific and vice president/general manager of Tri-State Mill Supply. He was 1956 graduate of Southern State University receiving a bachelor’s degree in Business. He served as president of the student body his senior year and president of the Alumni Association in the 70’s . He was on the Board of Directors for the Crossett Chamber of Commerce and Crossett Rotary Club and also a Paul Harris Fellow. He was a Korean War army veteran, a Gideon, a deacon and Sunday school teacher (4th grade boys) at the Crossett Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia Allen Hart; two daughters, Allyson Mitchell of Senatobia, Miss. and Dianne Kellogg of Springdale; one sister, Rachel Vaden of North Little Rock; and four grandchildren.
Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 5, at the First Baptist Church in Arkadelphia with Dr. Lee McGlone and Will Thompson officiating. Interment was in the Snell cemetery near Emmet. Visitation was from 3-5 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 4 at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church.
Terry Wicker
Terry Dale Wicker, 56, of Gurdon, died Feb. 4, 2007, in Arkadelphia.
He was a truck driver. He was born May 12, 1950, in Prescott. He was the son of Shelton Thomas and Irene Smith Wicker.
He is preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Edward Lee Wicker; and his wife, Mary Lane Wicker of Gurdon.
Survivors include three daughters, Tammy and husband Tony Melugin of Bismarck, Terri and husband Justin Lee of Arkadelphia, and Debbie and husband John Jester of Emmet; two brothers, Gilbert Wicker of Emmet and Bobby Dale Wicker of Texarkana; five sisters, Edna Mae Tunnell of Magnolia, Texas, Martha Faye Parmer of Bluff City, Betty Sue McKamie of Hope, his twin, Sherry Zumwalt of Lawton, Okla., and Sharon 'Baby' Dycus of Glenwood; eight grandchildren, Brooke, Britney, and Brandie Lewallen, Zac Melugin, Timmy Pullen, Haley Lee, Jennifer Miller and Jordan Jester; and a host of other family and friends.
Services were held Wednesday, Feb. 7, at 2 p.m. at the Providence Memorial Baptist Church in Perrytown with Mike Steed and Oliver McKamie officiating. Interment was at Snell cemetery in Emmet. Service were under the direction of Herndon Funeral Home of Hope.
Visitation was held Tuesday, Feb. 6, from 6-8 p.m. at Herndon Funeral Home.
The family was at the home of Betty Sue McKamie, 183 Hempstead 184, Hope.
John Marsh
Mr. John D. Marsh, 61, of Prescott, died Sunday, Feb. 4, 2007, at Christus St. Michael System in Texarkana, Texas.
He was born on May 18, 1945, in Coral Gales, Fla., the only child of Darrell and Geneva Marsh. His grandparents were John C. and Jarvie Aburrow Marsh and Ep and C. Weaver. He attended Subiaco Academy and Henderson State University.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
His survivors include one son, Daniel A. Marsh of Arkadelphia; one granddaughter, Jodi Marsh of Friendship; one cousin, Amelia Harrell Fraser of Miami, Fla.; and one aunt, Molly Graff of Georgetown, Texas.
A private graveside service was at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 6, at DeAnn cemetery in Prescott, with the Rev. Jerry G. Westmoreland officiating. Arrangements were by Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home of Prescott.
The family wishes to acknowledge and express their gratitude to his special and devoted friends, Dick and Joyce Bright and Gaye Clark.
Mildred Stallsworth
Mildred R. Stallsworth, 88, of Prescott, died Friday in a local hospital.
She was born in Kanona, Kan., on July 12, 1917, to Jerry and Bessie Beneda. Mildred was a housewife, loving wife and a Christian.
She was preceded in death by her husband David and her parents.
Survivors include one daughter, Sandra Skaggs of Emmet; three sons, David Stallsworth of Athens, John Stallsworth of Blevins and Mark Stallsworth of Longview, Texas; and
one brother, Val Beneda of Oberlin, Kan.; 14 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were Feb. 9 at 2 p.m. at Marlbrook cemetery under the direction of Shackelford Funeral Home in Prescott.
Linda Riley
Linda Benton Riley, passed away Jan. 29, 2007, at San Marcas, Texas.
She was born June 29, 1941, in Cale.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Riley; her parents, Spencer and Inez Benton, two sisters, Pauline and Mary; four brothers, John, Bill, Buster and Brooks.
She is survived by two daughters, Patricia and Christina; two sisters, Virginia and Emily; and two brothers, Lowell and Davis.
Funeral services were held Jan. 29 in Houston, Texas.
