Johnnie T. Loe
Johnnie T. Loe, 87, of Magnolia, died Monday, July 24, 2007, at the Beverly Living Center in Magnolia.
He was born Dec. 28, 1919, in Bodcaw. He was a retired carpenter and farmer, an army veteran of World War I; a member of the Corinth Church and a member of the Bodcaw Deer Club.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Opal Loe in 2001; son, Paul Loe in 2000; and a grandson, Tim Cook in 1999.
His survivors include one son, Jimmie W. Loe of Magnolia; four daughters and sons-in-law, Maxine and J.D. Miller, Zelma Hudgens, Lucille and Gearry Cheatham, and Bobbie Jean and Jimm Kitchens; thirteen grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren; eleven step-great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and one step-great great-grandchild.
The funeral service was at 2 p.m. Friday, July 27, at the Corinth Baptist Church at Bodcaw, with Revs. Billy Russell and Ed Phillips officiating, with burial in Corinth cemetery, under the direction of Smith Funeral Home in Stamps.
Visitation was from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, at Bailey Funeral Home in Magnolia.
Pall bearers were Pete Ward, David Porter, Grover Lowe, A.D. Lowe, Judge Hanson, Robby Kitchens, Shelby Shackleford and Jackie May.
Opal Hopson
Mrs. Opal Langston Hopson, 93, of Emmet, died Wednesday, July 25, 2007, at Medical Park Hospital in Hope.
She was born on June 23, 1914, in Texarkana, to John Milton and Virda Vann Davis. She was a homemaker. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Prescott, for 60 years and the ladies Sunday school class. She lived a life of loving joy with her family. She was committed to a daily walk with Christ and shared the kind of love He taught for all of her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Otis Langston; her husband of 17 years, Raymond Hopson; and one sister, Jewel Langston.
Her survivors include one son, John Langston and Sara of Little Rock; one daughter, Belva Smith of Emmet; one stepson, Duane Hopson of Fairbanks, Alaska; one step daughter, Donna McKelvey and Fletcher of Prescott; one nephew, Jessie Royce Langston and Nell of Emmet; three grandchildren, Hope Wright and Rusty, Vann Langston and Ammy, and John Paul Langston, all of North Little Rock; two step grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and four step great-grandchildren.
The funeral service was at 2 p.m., Saturday, July 28, at First Baptist Church of Prescott, with Rev. Frank Hinson officiating.
The family received friends Friday, July 27, from 6-8 p.m., at Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home in Prescott.
Billy Morris
Mr. Billy Morris, 75, of Hope, formerly of Prescott, died Friday, July 2, 2007, in the special care of Hillcrest Care and Rehab.
He was born on Sept. 19, 1931, in Prescott, to Isac and Mattie Neal Morris. He was retired from Ford Motor Co. and Prescott Public Schools as a bus driver. He was a member and deacon of Central Baptist Church in Prescott.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Gilbert Franklin Morris and Pete Morris; four sisters, Margarett Macklefresh, Sally Garrett, Maria Prosser, and Lila Cook; and parents-in-law, Clent Haynes and Ada Mae Haynes.
His survivors include his wife of almost 58 years, Betty Haynes Morris of Hope; three daughters, Kay Ross and Phil of Hope, Debbie McDaniel and Danny of Gurdon and and Karissa Morris of Coffeeeville, Kans.; four grandchildren, Trina Case and John of Emmet, Trisha Kelley and Danny of Prescott, Jennifer Mowery and Shane of Hope, and Haleigh McDaniel and Joe of Gurdon; two great-grandsons, Joshua Craig and Aaron Case, both of Emmet; four brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Vernon Haynes and Frances and Donnie Haynes and Bonnie, all of Prescott, Eddie Haynes and Shirley of Texarkana, and Jerry Haynes and Vikie of Rockwall, Texas; numerous nieces and nephews and too many friends and loved ones to list.
The funeral service was at 2 p.m., Monday, July, 30, at Central Baptist Church, with Revs. Perry Johnson and James Cox officiating. The burial was in Pleasant Ridge cemetery in Prescott. Arrangements were by Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home in Prescott.
The family received friends Sunday, July 29, from 6-8 p.m. at Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home in Prescott.

Casey Allen
Mr. Casey Conrad Allen, 20, of Prescott, formerly of Hope, died Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2007, in Christus St. Michael Hospital in Texarkana, Texas.
He was born July 9, 1987, in Hope, to Steven Conrad and Pamala Michelle Banks Allen. He was self-employed. He was a member of Unity Baptist Church of Hope.
He was preceded in death by paternal grandmother, Jan Allen, and his maternal grandfather, Arthur Lee Banks.
His survivors include his father, Steven Conrad Allen of Hope; his mother, Pamala Michelle Banks Allen of Hope; three sisters, Brittney Michelle Banks-Allen and Stevie Caitlin Allen, both of Hope, and Samantha Patterson of Prescott; paternal grandfather, Ray Allen of Sheridan; maternal grandmother, Vada Banks of Hope; and paternal great-grandmother, Helen Jordan of Prescott; and a number of aunts, uncles and cousins.
Pall bearers were Jason Banks, Joshua Banks, Chase Banks, Landon Loe, Jordan Banks and William Wheelington.
The funeral service was at 2 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 4, at Unity Baptist Church in Hope, with Revs. I. V. Hight, Glen Troop and Mrs. Teresa Simmering officiating.
Arrangements were by Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home in Hope.

Laura Meeks
Mrs. Laura Belle Akins Meeks, 99, of Prescott, died Monday, July 30, 2007, in Little Rock.
She was born in Nevada County, to William H. and Josephine Moss Akins. She was a retired teacher of the Prescott School District having graduated from University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff, formerly known as A. M. and N. College. She was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church of Prescott. She had attended the St. Mark Baptist Church in Little Rock, and the 2nd Baptist Church in Helena-West Helena. She was a secretary of the Southwest District Association for 25 years, Sunday school teacher, missionary society, mother of the church, Arkansas Teacher Retirement member and AARP member.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo Meeks Sr.; two brothers; and one sister.
Her survivors include two sons, Leo Meeks Jr. and Susie, and Vernon Meeks and Mary, all of Prescott; six daughters, Bettye Meeks Frazier and Noah of Houston, Texas, Nell Sampel and Lepoleon of Helena-West Helena, Josephine Russ and A.W. of San Diego, Calif., LaFae Glasgow and the late Clifford of Little Rock, Sandra McFadden and Charles of Little Rock, and Shirley Garmon and Bert of Hot Springs; one grandson who she raised, Tony Meeks of San Diego, Calif.; one grandson in U.S. Army National Guard in Kuwait, Gregory Garmon; one special nephew, Earl Levester Foster of Prescott; twenty-six grandchildren; forty-eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; a host of nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.
The funeral service was at 11 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 4, at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Prescott, with Rev. Mickey Manning officiating. Burial was in DeAnn cemetery in Prescott. Arrangements were by Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home of Prescott.

Wyndal Minton
Wyndal I. Minton Sr., 79, of Gurdon, died Tuesday, July 31, 2007.
He was Owner of Minton Farms, member Beech Street Baptist Church and a US Army Veteran of World War II. He served as a board member on the Clark County Farm Bureau, the Clark County School Board and was currently a board member of the Bethlehem cemetery.
Survivors include his devoted wife of 59 years, Betty Stone Minton; son, Wyndal Minton Jr. and his wife Sharon of Gurdon; daughter, Julie Mulkey and her husband, Wayne of Saraland, Ala.; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
The funeral service was at 11a.m. Thursday, Aug. 2, at Beech Street Baptist Church in Gurdon with Rev. Rick Pryon officiating, with interment in Bethlehem cemetery by Horne Funeral Home.
Howard Jones
Howard Raymond Jones, 67, of Greenwood, died Sunday, Sept. 2, 2007, in Springdale.
He was born Jan. 27, 1940, in Zainesville, Ohio. He is the son of the late Howard and Martha Jones. Howard was a tool and die maker and an Army Veteran.
Survivors include four daughters, Kathy Reppert of Hillsdale, Mich., Belinda Kellogg of Pittsburg, Mich., Cheryl Leavitt of Arkansas, and Aleshia Fulford of Greenwood; three sons, David Little of Texas, Randy Little and Christopher Jones, both of Prescott; and 22 grandchildren.
The funeral service was at 1 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 6, at U.S. National cemetery with military honors, officiated by Rev. Sid Ree.
Darlene Perry
Darlene Hickey Perry, 43, of Shreveport, La., died Sunday, Sept. 2, 2007.
She was born Nov. 15, 1963, in Prescott.
She was preceded in death by her father, Joseph Alfred Hickey; and her mother, Bobbie Jean Wicker Butcher.
She is survived by her two sons, Christopher and Alex Perry of Shreveport, La.; a sister, Victoria Bartel and husband James of Old Hickory, Tenn.; two brothers, Bobby Hickey of Emmet and Jamie Butcher of Shreveport, La.; her stepfather, Jim Butcher of Shreveport, La.; her sister-in-law, Brenda Hickey of Emmet; three nieces, Alissa Hickey, Cheyenne Butcher, and Tabitha Marion; six nephews, Joseph, Justin, Nicholas and Tanner Hickey, and Ashton and Damien Bartel; and many more friends and family.
Darlene’s boys were her life. She was very active in support groups for Downs Dyndrome. She was a computer graphic designer.
There will be a memorial service Friday, Sept. 14, at 2 p.m. at the Laneburg United Pentecostal Church.
Betty Sue Howell
Mrs. Betty Sue Hopson Howell, 66, of Cerritos, Calif., formerly of Prescott, died Monday, Sept. 10, 2007, at her home in Calif.
She was born on March 19, 1941, in Prescott, to the late Rev. Oscar and Ola Flemons Hopson. She graduated from McRae High School in 1959 and attended Los Angeles City College. She retired from Shumann Manufacturing Company. She joined the Paradise Baptist Church in Los Angeles, Calif. She married
Cleodis Howell, Dec. 25, 1973.
Her survivors include her husband of 33 years, Cleodis Howell of Cerritos, Calif.; one son, Michael Howell of Santa Monica, Calif.; one daughter, Deborah Charles and Emanuel of Prescott; one step-daughter, Regina Foster and Carlos of Grand Prairie, Texas; five grandchildren, Bryan Joseph of Pine Bluff, Brandon Charles of Prescott, Taaja, Taelear, and Thailer Foster, all of Grand Prairie, Texas; two sisters, Mary Gulley and Earder and Wanda Jones, all of Prescott; two aunts, Orene and Vira Lea Flemons, both of Prescott.; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The funeral services were at 2 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 15, at Mt. Ephesus Baptist Church in Prescott, with Rev. Fred Walters officiating. The burial as in Laneburg cemetery in Laneburg.
Charlie Dulaney
Charlie Lee 'C.L.' Dulaney, 61, of El Dorado, died Wednesday, March 8, 2006.
He was born April 24, 1944, in El Dorado, the son of George Edmond Dulaney Sr. and Mae Bell Fautheree Dulaney.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Mae Bell Dulaney.
Survivors include his wife of 25 years, Sarah Evans Dulaney; a special niece, Krystal WhiteCloud, of their home; a brother, George Edmond Dulaney Jr. and his wife Joann, of Bossier City, La.; five sisters, Mae Etta Rucker and husband Johnny, of Jefferson, Texas, Marie Kirkpatrick of Springhill, La., Maxine Covington and husband Clyde of Prescott, Christine Dalton of El Dorado, and Dean Ainsworth and her husband Billy of Village.
The funeral service was at 10 a.m. Monday, March 13, at Caledonia Baptist Church with the Rev. Hugh Nelson and Bro. John Rowland officiating. Burial was in Caledonia cemetery under the direction of Perry’s Funeral Chapels in El Dorado.
