Bernice Glenn
Bernice Glenn, 70, of Prescott, Tuesday, March 24, 1998, at Hillcrest Care Center in Prescott.
Miss Glenn was born April 28, 1927, to Lee and Essie Williams Glenn in Hempstead County. She was a homemaker and a member of St. John Baptist Church in DeAnn.
Survivors include a host of cousins.
Funeral services were Saturday, March 28, at St. John Baptist Church in DeAnn with Rev. Raymond Cage officiating. Burial was in St. John's cemetery in DeAnn under the direction of Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home of Prescott.

Minerva Fagan
Minerva Fagan, 85, of Hope died Friday, March 27, 1998, in a local hospital.
Mrs. Fagan was born November 18, 1912, in Hempstead County to Burt Smith and Girtrude Edwards Smith. She was a homemaker and a member of Liberty Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Curt Fagan.
Survivors include two nieces, Sue Mitchell of Hope and Phillis Lewis of Hooks, Texas; one nephew, Herman Johnson of Palm Bay, Fla., and numerous great nieces and nephews.
Graveside services were held Saturday, March 29, at Snell cemetery in Emmet with Rev. Scott Neathery officiating. Burial was under the direction of Herndon Funeral Home of Hope.

Zula Walker Keith
Zula Walker Keith, 83, of Macedonia, died Tuesday, March 31, 1998, in Arkansas Heart Hospital in Little Rock.
Mrs. Keith was born June 27, 1914, in Cale. She was preceded in death by her parents, James Newton and Lena (Godley) DeWoody, her first husband, Elmer Walker, and a brother, John Ves Godley. She was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church and former member of First Baptist Church in Magnolia, formerly active in the Pilot Club and also a charter member and past secretary of the National Federation of Retired Employees.
Survivors include her husband, Daniel R. Keith of Macedonia; one daughter and son-in-law, Stella and Jimmy Edwards of Walkerville; one son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Mitzie Walker of Walkerville; one step daughter, Peggy Green of Little Rock; four stepsons, Lynn Keith, Jerry Keith and Jimmy Keith of Magnolia and Craig Keith of Minneapolis, Minn., one brother, Hugh DeWoody of Ardmore, Okla.; one sister, Stella Pittman of Prescott; two granddaughters, Whitney Hickey and Wendi Sanders of Macedonia; two grandsons, Mark Edwards of Little Rock and Eric Walker of Walkerville; six great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services were Thursday, April 2, at First Baptist Church in Magnolia with Bro. Jimmy Henry and Bro. Lash Frey officiating. Burial was in Stewart-Walkerville cemetery near Walkerville under the direction of Lewis Funeral Home Magnolia.

Bertha Wise Clark
Bertha Wise Clark, 90, of Prescott died Saturday, April 4, 1998.
Mrs. Clark was a widow of Alex Clark. In the 1940s she worked as in the first elementary school lunchroom in Prescott. Later she worked as an assistant dietician at Hillcrest Nursing Center until her retirement.
Survivors include one daughter, and son-in-law, Ruth Evelyn and Dale Ward of Prescott; one son and daughter-in-law, Johnny L. and Nancy Clark of North Little Rock; four grandchildren, seven great grandchildren; and one cousin, Edna Lee of Springhill.
Funeral services were held Monday, April 6, at Central Baptist Church in Prescott. Burial was in DeAnn cemetery under the direction of Shackelford Funeral Home of Prescott.

Lillian Grace Tackette
Lillian Grace Tackette, 82, of Prescott, died Saturday, April 4, at Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock.
Mrs. Tackette was a self-employed housekeeper and a member of First Assembly of God Church where she was a secretary, Sunday school teacher and involved in women's ministries of the church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Tommy Tackette, one sister, Myrtle O'Rourke and three brothers, Roy Davis, Lester Davis and Clarence Davis.
Survivors include one son, Terrell Tackette of Conway; three daughters, Muriel Dean Tackette and Evelyn (and Buddy) Murrah, of Prescott and Norma (and Jim) McKelvy of Texarkana; one brother, Tillman Davis of Fort Smith; six grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren and a special niece, Jeri Ginger of Little Rock.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 7, at First Assembly of God Church with Jerry Smith, Al Womack and Hal Haltom officiating. Burial was in Pleasant Ridge cemetery under the direction of Shackelford Funeral Home of Prescott.

Floyd McCorkle
Floyd McCorkle, 84, of Hope died Monday, April 6, 1998, at Wadley Regional Medical Center in Texarkana, Texas.
Mr. McCorkle was born May 11, 1913, in Columbus to Ed and Lula Fincher McCorkle. He was a retired bridge crewman with Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department in Hope. He was a Baptist and an U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include one brother, Johnie McCorkle of Hope; one sister, Sally Chambless of Prescott; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services are today, Wednesday, April 8, at 3:00 in Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home Chapel in Hope with Rev. Stan Parris officiating. Burial is to be in Columbus cemetery under the direction of Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home of Hope.

Viola Marie Russell
Viola Marie Russell, 81, of Hope died Wednesday, April 1, 1998, at Columbia Medical Park Hospital in Hope.
Mrs. Russell was born February 26, 1917, in Bienville, La., to Luther and Olga Chandler Casey. She was a homemaker and a member of Garrett Memorial Baptist Church in Hope. She was preceded in death by her husband, Berlin Russell, who died in 1974 and by one grandson, Russell Skinner.
Survivors include three sons, Charles Russell, David Russell and Thomas Russell all of Hope; three daughters, Melba Skinner and Linda Crane both of Hope and Reba Morehead of Bodcaw, 14 grand children and 12 great grandchildren.
Funeral services were Friday, April 10, at Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Chapel in Hope with Rev. Jim Sayers and Dr. Mike Harmon officiating. Burial was in Memory Gardens cemetery in Hope under the direction of Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home of Hope.

Doyle Jones
Doyle Jones, 80, of Camden, died Sunday, December 4, 2005 at National Park Hospital in Hot Springs.
He was born January 16, 1925, at Prescott, a son of the late Beulah Jones and Florence Urey Jones. He was a member of Fairview Road Baptist Church and a retired produce manager for the Kroger Company with 35 years of service.
Survivors include his wife, Marie Wolfe Jones, whom he married on March 8, 1968, at Camden; one stepdaughter, Linda Gill and spouse H.V. of Searcy; one step grandchild, Duane Gill and spouse, Stephanie of Searcy; two step great-grandchildren, Eryka Berryhill and Easton Ryan Gill both of Searcy
A brother, Jessie Jones, and two sisters, Ruth Avery and Thelma Avery preceded him in death.
Funeral services were at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, December 6, at Fairview Road Baptist Church by Rev. J.T. Harvill and Rev. Danny Crowder. Gene Jeffers was in charge of the music. Burial was in Moseley cemetery near Warren by Frazer’s Funeral Home.
Active pallbearers were Mark Tilton, Bill Spears, Ricky Purfoy, Barry Doss, Windsell Loudermilk, Kenny Patterson, Joe Scrape, and Bill Beard. Honorary pallbearers were Rudolph Jeffus, Jake Scrape, Eddie Mack Urban, A.D. Brown, James Jeffus, Horace Patterson, William Avery, John Hicks, and Chester Avery.

Elsie G. Ashbrook
Elsie G. Ashbrook, 81, of Prescott died Sunday, April 12, 1998, at Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock.
Mrs. Ashbrook was born April 20, 1916. She was a housewife. Mrs. Ashbrook was a member of Westside Church of Christ in Prescott. She was preceded in death by her husband, Doyle Anderson Ashbrook, and two sons Glindon and Harold Ray Ashbrook.
Survivors include five sons, Leon Doyle Ashbrook of Austin, Texas, Carol Wayne Ashbrook of Reva, Va., Danny Ashbrook of Jonesboro, and Roger Ashbrook and Timmy Ashbrook both of Prescott; two daughters, Sharon Myers and Sandra Hilderbrand both of Prescott; 16 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren.
Funeral services were Tuesday, April 14, at Pleasant Hill Church of Christ with Billy Cutchall officiating. Burial was in Pleasant Hill cemetery under the direction of Shackelford Funeral Home of Prescott.

Ruth A. Cook
Ruth A. Cook, 72, of Prescott died Monday, April 13, 1998, at Beverly Health and Rehab in Prescott.
Mrs. Cook was born April 26, 1925, in Nevada County to Jones and Mammie Ellison Garrett. She was a homemaker and a Methodist. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Lee Cook, who died in July 1997.
Survivors include two brothers, Jones Garrett Jr. of Crandell, Texas, and Kenneth Garrett of Springhill, La.; and three sisters, Rosielee Smith of Crandell, Texas, Sue Strebel of Fayetteville and Evelyn Hollamon of Grand Prairie, Texas.
Graveside services will be today, Wednesday, April 15, at DeAnn cemetery with Rev. Jerry Westmoreland officiating. Arrangements will be under the direction of Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home of Prescott.

Helen L. Adams
Helen L. Adams, 72, of Prescott died Wednesday, April 15, 1998, at St. Michael Healthcare Center in Texarkana, Texas.
Mrs. Adams was born November 23, 1925, in Clark County to Sam and Minnie Lee Malcom Johnson. She was a homemaker and a member of the Prescott Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilburn Adams, and one granddaughter, Farrah Adams.
Survivors include a son, Tommy Adams of Prescott; a brother, Albert Johnson of Dallas, Texas, and a sister, Jean Terry, of Pine Bluff.
Funeral services were Friday, April 17, at Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home Chapel in Prescott with Gene Cloer officiating. Burial was in Bluff City cemetery under the direction of Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home of Prescott.

Alvin E. Stewart
Alvin E. Stewart, 78, of Prescott, died Tuesday, April 21, 1998, in St. Michael Hospital in Texarkana, Texas.
Mr. Stewart was born December 31, 1919, in Blevins to Elmer Elgery and Eunice Wilson Stewart. He was a retired maintenance supervisor of Prescott Schools.
Survivors include his wife, Adell Stewart of Prescott; two sons, Danny Stewart and Dickey Stewart both of Prescott; two brothers, W.A. Stewart of Prescott and Wallace Stewart of Emmet; and one sister, Barbara Ayers of Grand Saline, Texas.
Funeral services were Thursday, April 23, at Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jerry Westmoreland officiating. Burial was in DeAnn cemetery under the direction of Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home of Prescott.

Mildred White
Mildred Annette White, 77, of Prescott, died July 30, 2005, at a Little Rock hospital.
She was born on February 18, 1928, in Prescott to Garland and Addie Jones Dickinson. She lived most of her adult life in Prescott and was a 50 year member of the First Assembly of God Church of Prescott.
She was a retired bank teller and had worked at the Bank of Prescott for many years. Mildred loved her church, gospel singing, and most of all her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of more than 50 years, Woodrow 'Tip' White.
Mildred is survived by her son, Marty White and wife, Rita of Little Rock; her daughter, Elaine Halliday and husband, Dickey of Gurdon; her sister, Phyllis Brents of Little Rock; her grandchildren Peyton and Bailey White, Kristi Gray, Britta and Austen Halliday and great-grandson, Garet Gray.
Funeral services were Tuesday, August 2, 2005, at 11 a.m. at the First Assembly of God Church in Prescott by Shackelford Funeral Home in Prescott.
