Issac'Dick' Hunter
Issac Newton 'Dick' Hunter, 80, of Hope died Thursday, April 23, 1998, at Heather Manor North in Hope.
Mr. Hunter was a retired farmer and factory worker. He was an avid outdoorsman and expert marksman, a veteran of World War II, serving in the South Pacific, member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and National Rifle Association. He was a Baptist.
Survivors include two sisters, Hattie Sisson of Hope and Louise Lamb of Prescott and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services were Saturday, April 25, at Union cemetery near Bodcaw with Rev. Kenneth Grant officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Brazzel/Oakcrest Chapel Funeral Home of Hope.

Juanita Hawkins
Juanita Hawkins, 74, of Prescott died Wednesday, April 22, 1998, at Hillcrest Care Center.
Mrs. Hawkins was born May 26, 1923, in Ivan, La., to Jim and Cora House Blackard. She was a homemaker and a Baptist. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Hawkins, by one son, Leroy Jones and by one brother, Pat Blackbard.
Survivors include two sons James L. Jones of Texarkana, Ark., and Paul Raymond Jones of Mississippi; two daughters, Brenda Nielson and Connie Phillips both of Shreveport, La.; one brother Jimmy Blackard of Prescott; 11 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Graveside services were Friday, April 24, at Pleasant Ridge cemetery near Prescott with Rev. Neal Ridling officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home of Prescott.

Cholie Mae Thomas
Cholie Mae (Ellis) Thomas, 71, of Delight died Friday, April 24, 1998, at a Murfreesboro hospital.
Mrs. Thomas was born June 28, 1926, in the Corinth community near Nashville. She was the daughter of the late Lee Floyd and Gladys Huddleston Ellis. She was a homemaker and farmer and a member of Antoine Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dolphin W. Thomas, who died June 12, 1995; and three brothers.
Survivors include three sons, James D. Thomas, Lee W. Thomas and John E. Thomas all of Delight; one daughter, Connie Woodson of Ardmore, Okla.; 11 grandchildren, five great grandchildren; and a number of nephews and nieces.
Funeral services were Monday, April 27, with B.B. Harding officiating. Burial was in Antoine cemetery under the direction of Latimer Funeral Home of Nashville.

Clarence J. Harper
Clarence J. Harper, 73, of North Little Rock died Monday, May 11, 1998.
Mr. Harper was a retired assistant Lt. Commander for Arkansas Highway Police and a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and Arkansas Law Enforcement Association. He held a degree in business administration and communications. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother and sister. He was a loving and dedicated husband, father, grandfather and friend.
Survivors include his wife, Annette Harper; two sons, Sammy Harper of Prescott and Russell Harper of North Little Rock; three daughters and sons-in-law, Anita and Bobby Anthony of North Little Rock, Ila and Rick Green of Scott and Michelle and Dan Cowgill of Jacksonville; 10 grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
Funeral services were Thursday, May 14; at North Little Rock Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Kevin Bernard officiating. Burial was in Edgewood Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to donor's favorite charity. Arrangements were under the direction of North Little Rock Funeral Home.

Viola Phillips
Mrs. Viola Horne Phillips, 92, of Prescott, passed away Sunday, July 31, 2005, in Hillcrest Care and Rehab in Prescott.
She was born on September 22, 1912, in Whelen Springs, to Jessie and Alpha Jane Stone Horne. She was a retired licensed practical nurse for Dr. Hairston’s office and the Nevada County Hospital. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church in Prescott where she taught a women’s Sunday school class and sang in the choir. She was a member of Prescott Garden Club.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy Phillips, who died in 1971 and by four brothers, Curry, Hillard, Neal and Ardell Horne.
Her survivors include one daughter, Margaret (Charley) Hritz of North Carolina; one son, Jim (Rebecca) Phillips of Arkadelphia; four grandchildren, Christy Burnside of Centreville, Va., Todd Phillips of Karlsruhe, Germany, Eric Phillips of Arkadelphia and Clif Phillips of Hope; and five great-grandsons.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Tuesday, August 2, 2005, at Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home Chapel in Prescott. Burial was in DeAnn cemetery in Prescott. Arrangements by Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home in Prescott. Visitation was Monday, August 1, from 6-8 p.m. at Brazzel/Cornish in Prescott.

Deb Marcum
Mrs. Deb Marcum, 53, of Prescott, died Monday, March 14, 2005, in Medical Park Hospital in Hope.
She was born on April 30, 1951, in Portsmouth, Ohio, to Theodore Luther and Lorena Ruth Cook Lambert. She was a retired truck driver. She was a member of Emmet United Methodist Church in Emmet.
She was preceded in death by her parents and by one sister, Wanda Leahy.
Her survivors include: her husband of almost 28 years, Ray Marcum of Prescott; three sons, Aaron Marcum of Junction City, Ohio and Steven Lambert and Randall Ray Marcum, Jr. both of Columbus, Ohio; two daughters, Teresa Marcum of Bartlett, Tenn. and Kathleen Francisco of Lancaster, Ohio; three brothers, Bob Lambert of Chino Valley, Ariz., Jimmy Lambert of Phoenix, Ariz. and Ted Lee Lambert of Little Rock; one sister, Vicki Patterson of Murfreesboro and 15 grandchildren.
Funeral services were 2 p.m. Thursday, March 17, 2005, at Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home Chapel in Prescott with Rev. Jerry G. Westmoreland officiating. Burial followed in Midway cemetery in Prescott. Arrangements by Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home in Prescott.
Family received friends by Wednesday, March 16, 2005, from 6-8 p.m. at Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home in Prescott.

Edith Lorraine Slatton
Edith Lorraine Slatton, 62, died Sunday, May 10, 1998, at St. John's Regional Medical Center in Joplin, Mo., after a sudden illness.
Mrs. Slatton was born October 7, 1935, in Katy, Texas, to Hans Lorenz and Virginia (Breedlove) Nielsen. She was a retired LVN. She had worked in several nursing homes and hospitals in the Houston, Texas, area. She retired in 1975 from the Four Seasons Nursing Home of Houston, Texas, where she had worked for 12 years. She moved to the Seneca/Neosho, Mo., area in 1993. She attended Hart Assembly of God Church near Seneca. She married Houston Slatton January 15, 1954, in Prescott.
Survivors include her husband, Houston Slatton; two sons, David and Glenn Slatton both of Neosho, Mo.; one daughter, Peggy Granger of Seneca, Mo.; one sister, Ann Gourley of Prescott; eight grandchildren; seven step grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; and two step great grandchildren.
Funeral services were Wednesday, May 13, at the Hart Assembly of God Church with Bro. Roy Scribner officiating. Burial was in Osborne cemetery under the direction of Clark Funeral Home of Neosho. Pallbearers were Cody Slatton, Micheal Slatton, Shane Granger, Bobby Muckleroy, David Slatton, Glenn Slatton, Will Granger and Brian Baldridge.

Willie Sullivan Cox
Willie Sullivan Cox, 80, of Bismarck died Tuesday, May 12, 1998, at Baptist Medical Center in Arkadelphia.
Mrs. Cox was born July 25, 1917, in Bismarck, the daughter of the late Sid and Lenora Caver Sullivan. She was a retired employee of Levi Strauss, a member of Third Street Baptist Church and the widow of John Calvin Cox.
Survivors include one son, John Cox of Curtis; two daughters, Oma Lee Bray of Bismarck and Pearl Taylor of Prescott; one sister, Maudie Cook of Glenwood; six grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.
Funeral services were Friday, May 15, in the Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gary Turner officiating. Burial was in Friendship cemetery near Amity. Pallbearers were Gordon Cox, James Allen Cox, Gerald Wayne Taylor, Jerry Wilkerson, Jason Wilkerson, Jeremy Taylor, Grey Bray and Gerald Wayne Taylor Jr.

Mattie Robertson
Mattie Laverne Robertson, 73, of Chidester, died Wednesday, January 26, 2005.
She was a utility worker for Arkla Gas, a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include: sons, Jack Robertson, Jr. of Gurdon, Randy Robertson of Hampton, and Richard Robertson of Chidester; daughter, Janis Gregory of Little Rock; sister, Floy Jean Brown of Texarkana; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services were 2 p.m. Saturday at the Horne Chapel with Bro. Rick Pyron officiating. Burial was in the Bluff City cemetery by Horne Funeral Home of Gurdon.
Visitation was 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Frances Fairchild
Frances Fairchild, 83, of Jacksonville, formerly of McGehee, died Wednesday, May 13, 1998.
Mrs. Fairchild is the daughter of the late Rev. and Mrs. Alexander McPherson of Conway and the wife of the late Sidney Fairchild of McGehee. She was a graduate of Arkansas State Teachers College. She taught home economics with the Agriculture Extension Service serving in Cleveland and Desha Counties. She was also a member of McGehee First Baptist Church.
Survivors include her son, Roy Fairchild; daughter and son-in-law, Margaret and John Copeland; sister-in-law, Lois McPherson; brother-in-law, Erwin Fairchild; and cousin, Velda Bearden.
Funeral services were Friday, May 15, at McGehee First Baptist Church with Rev. Ron Raines officiating. Burial was in McGehee cemetery under the arrangements of Griffin Leggett Rest Hills Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Arkansas Baptist Children's Homes and Family Ministries.

Mamie Stuart Hall Wells
Mamie Stuart Hall Wells, 87, of Prescott died Saturday, May 16, 1998, in St. Michael Health Care Center in Texarkana, Texas.
Mrs. Wells was born December 22, 1910. She was the youngest of ten children and the last survivor of D.D. and Mary Etta Stuart. She was a mother, housewife and a member of Missionary Grove Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, W.B. Hall, and one grandson, Kevin Wayne Hall.
Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, Bobby Joe and Joyce Hall and Billy Gene and Minnie Sue Hall both of Prescott, and Donald R. and Melba Hall of Hope; eight grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.
Funeral services were Tuesday, May 19, a Missionary Grove Baptist Church with Bro. Tom Stevens, Bro. Neil Ridling and Bro. Ricky Burke officiating. Burial was in Nubbin Hill cemetery under the direction of Shackelford Funeral Home of Prescott.
Pallbearers were her grandsons, Ronnie Hall, Keith Hall, Jeff Hall, Tim Hall, Mark Hall, Ronnie Hernsberger, Bryan Crabtree and Joel R. Patterson.

Mildred Lucille Teer
Mildred Lucille Virden Teer, 67, of Humnoke died Sunday, May 17, 1998.
Mrs. Teer was born August 12, 1930, in Bodcaw to Charles Hesley Hickey and Elmarita Stevens Hickey. She was a former employee of Remington Arms. She was a member of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church in Humnoke and a member of Humnoke Tops Club for the past 25 years.
Survivors include two sons, Charles Relaford of Camden and Johnny Relaford of Lonoke; four daughters, Mary McAteer of Emmet, Anita Bowlan of Roe, Rita Holladay of Keo and Bonnie Bowlan of Mansfield; one sister, Ruth Relaford of Pioneer, La.; 14 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Funeral services were Tuesday, May 19, at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church in Humnoke. Bro. Tommy Walls and Bro. B.C. Hudson officiated. Burial was in Union Valley cemetery in Coy under the direction of Wilson-Stephens Funeral Home of England.
