Maxwell Overton Morman
Maxwell Overton Morman, 71, of Rosston died Sunday, January 14, 2001, at Hillcrest Care and Rehab Center in Prescott.
Mr. Morman was born October 17, 1929, in Rosston to Overton ‘Pete' and Nobie Agness Schooley Morman. He was a retired owner-operator of an Exxon Service for 20 years and he was retired from the Arkansas Forestry Commission. Mr. Morman was a member of First Baptist Church of Rosston since 1956, when he was saved and joined the church. He was preceded in death by his parents and by one son, Gary Lynn Morman, who died November 2, 1974.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Lyn Dean Beebe Morman of Rosston; one son and daughter-in-law, Max Alan and Wendy Morman of Rosston; one daughter and son-in-law, Tami and Mike Cottingham of Prescott; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Abb and Melva Morman of Prescott and Tim and Paulette Morman of Ogden; one sister, Shelby Jean Morman of Irving, Texas; one brother-in-law and sister-in-law, W.C. Beebe and Ruth of Hope; one sister-in-law, Irene Beebe Pope of Rosston; his pride and joy (he leaves behind) four grandchildren, Cassie Cottingham of Prescott and Ted Morman, Amy Morman and Marc Morman of Rosston; four nieces and three nephews.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, January 16, at First Baptist Church in Rosston with Rev. Donnie Dillard and Rev. Mark Faulkner officiating. Burial was in Rosston cemetery under the direction of Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home of Prescott.
Ruby Ingram May
Ruby Ingram May, 79, of Texarkana, Texas, formerly of Prescott, died Tuesday, January 16, 2001, in Wadley Hospital in Texarkana, Texas.
Mrs. May was born July 23, 1921, in Prescott to Chester Arthur and Inice Virginia Almand Ingram. She was a housewife and mother. She was saved at the age of 16 and joined Central Baptist Church of Prescott. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dean D. May, who died in 1997.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Jerry Dean May and Janice of Prescott; one daughter and son-in-law, Susan Virginia Terrell and Leigh of New Boston, Texas; one sister, Ruth Stokes of Prescott; two granddaughters, Carol May Glass and Stephanie Hammonds; and three great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Thursday, January 18, at Brazzel-Cornish Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Chad Brandon and Elder Curtis Terrell officiating. Burial was in Pleasant Hill cemetery under the direction of Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home of Prescott.
Max Small
Max Small, 79, of Prescott died Friday, January 19, 2001, in Hope.
Mr. Small was born October 22, 1921, in Somerset, Ind., to Russell Small and Delpha Marshall Small. He was a farmer and carpenter and in the U.S. Air Force during World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth Spicher Small of Prescott; a daughter, Barbara Fisher of Prescott; a sister, Vivian Keith of St. Louis, Mo.; four grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.
Graveside services were held Sunday, January 21, at DeAnn cemetery in Prescott with Bro. Larry Jones officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Shackelford Funeral Home of Prescott.
Nell Weaver Storey Tipton
Nell Weaver Storey Tipton, a former Little Rock resident, passed away Saturday, January 20, 2001, in Fort Walton Beach, Fla.
Nell was born November 30, 1918, in Prescott, the daughter of Edna and Espy Weaver. She was raised as she liked to say "above the jail house" in Prescott with her brother, Field, and sisters, Virginia, Molly and Geeva. Her father, Espy Weaver, was the sheriff and later State Representative of Nevada County. Edna, Espy, Virginia and Field preceded her in death. Nell grew up in the Presbyterian Church in Prescott and as a resident of Little Rock was a member of Westover Hills Presbyterian Church.
In 1939 Nell married
O.H. ‘Bud' Storey Jr., and they had three children, Susan Storey Hayes, O.H. ‘Bud' Storey III and Jeanne Storey Olson. O.H. ‘Bud' Storey Jr. died in 1964, when the family was living in New Jersey.
Widowed, Nell returned to her home state of Arkansas with her daughter Jeanne, age 6. Wanting to meet people and make new friends, Nell went to work for Welcome Wagon, an organization that welcomed newcomers to Little Rock. It was through Welcome Wagon that she made many wonderful friends. Her charming personality and her interest in politics made her a natural for campaigning, which she did with zeal on behalf of Gov. Winthrop Rockefeller. She was very active in the Democrats for Rockefeller movements in the mid-60's, traveling all parts of the state, and later worked for Gov. Rockefeller at his public relations office. From there she received her real estate license and worked for McKay, becoming the first resident sales manager of Cambridge Place.
Nell lived and worked at Cambridge Place for many years. She later married
Col. Richard Tipton and moved to Fort Walton Beach, Fla. She and Col. Tipton were married
for 21 very happy years. Her daughter, Susan Storey Hayes, predeceased her in death on January 18, 2000.
Nell is survived by her husband, Dick Tipton of Fort Walton Beach, Fla., her son and his wife, Bud and Mary Storey of Little Rock; her daughter and her husband, Jeanne and Gary Olson of Springdale; a stepson, Rick Tipton, of Fort Walton Beach, Fla.; a stepdaughter, Patricia Tipton Bray of Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla.; seven grandchildren, Michelle Hays of Atlanta, Ga., Robin Hayes Keef of Signal Mountain, Tenn., Christopher Hayes of Birmingham, Ala., Carol Storey Rogers and Chris Storey of Little Rock; and Darian and Kalen Bray of Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla.; three great grandchildren, Ashlyn and Kelsey Keef of Signal Mountain, Tenn., and Ashton Rogers of Little Rock; and nieces and nephews.
A memorial service was held Tuesday January 23, at McLaughlin's Mortuary in Fort Walton Beach, Fla., with a graveside services that will be on Thursday, January 25 at Mt. Moriah cemetery outside of Prescott at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Robin Nygaard of First Presbyterian Church officiating.

Christine Barlow Page
Christine Barlow Page, 80, of Weatherford and Houston, Texas, formerly of Prescott, passed away Tuesday, January 23, 2001, at Campbell Health System in Weatherford.
Mrs. Page was born June 16, 1920, in Nevada County to Wallace and Carrie Lowdermilk Barlow. She was a retired Exxon key punch supervisor. She was a member of St. Phillips United Methodist Church of Houston. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Sid DeWoody who was killed in World War II, and by her second husband, Jack Page.
Survivors include one sister, Martha Sue Meador of Tulsa, Okla.; one sister-in-law, Clarice Barlow of Benton; four nephews, Andy Meador of Tulsa, Okla., David and Linda Barlow of Prescott, Ritchie and Linda Barlow of Weatherford and Jack and Tina Barlow of Benton; and two nieces, Christie and Aris Arsenis of Alvi, Texas, and Kathy and Rickie Thompson of Prescott.
Funeral services were held Thursday, January 25, at Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home Chapel in Prescott with Rev. Chad Brandon officiating. Burial was in Bluff City cemetery under the direction of Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home of Prescott.
Aliene R. Ingram
Aliene R. Ingram, 82, of Humble, Texas, formerly of Bodcaw, died Sunday, January 28, 2001, in Sun Bridge Care and Rehab Center in Humble.
Mrs. Ingram was born May 3, 1918, in Nevada County to William Columbus and Allie Gertrude Fincher Manning. She was a homemaker and a Methodist. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Owen Ingram.
Survivors include two sons, Billy Wayne Ingram of Huntsville, Texas, and Jimmy Joe Ingram and Mary of Humble, Texas; one brother, A.D. Manning of Prescott; two grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
Graveside services were held Tuesday, January 30, at Mt. Moriah cemetery in Nevada County with Rev. Jerry Westmoreland officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home of Prescott.
Ralph S. Sanders
Ralph S. Saunders, 72, of Hope died Friday, January 26, 2001, in Little Rock.
Mr. Saunders was born December 9, 1928, in Sutton to Barton M. and Erma Waters Saunders. He was a retired buyer and seller of railroads, member of First Methodist Church of Hope, Century Bible class and a 50-year Mason and Evergreen Lodge 175. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, John Lewis Saunders and James Saunders.
Survivors include his wife, Billie T. Saunders of Hope; a daughter, Dana Miller of Nevada County; three grandchildren, Rachel Lyn Miller, Aliza Jane Miller and Hunter Saunders Hawthorne, all of Nevada County; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Sunday, January 28, in the Herndon Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Davis Thompson officiating. Burial was in Harmony cemetery at Sutton under the direction of Herndon Funeral Home of Hope.
Gladys R. Gentry
Gladys R. Gentry, 92, of Hope died Sunday, January 28, 2001, at Christus St. Michael Health System in Texarkana, Texas.
Mrs. Gentry was born December 14, 1909, in Hempstead County to William Oza and Rosamond Bright Reece. She was a homemaker and retired from the food service industry. She was a member of Garrett Memorial Baptist Church in Hope, and Cora Mae W.M.A. She was a former teacher of W.M.A., and former Sunday school teacher of the Dorcas Sunday school class. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Byers Gentry, who died in 1970, and by one son, Paul R. Gentry, who died in 1971.
Survivors include one son, Billy Gentry of Lewisville, Texas; two daughters, Martha Jean Calhoun of Lake Palestine, Texas, and Alice Arnett of Emmet; one brother, Donald William Reece of El Paso, Texas; seven grandchildren, Dick Gentry of Dallas, Texas, Teresa Klembara of Garland, Texas, Scott Calhoun of Lake Palestine, Texas, Kathie Cobb of Texarkana, Texas, Cindy Allen of Texarkana, Ark., Lisa Gentry and Linda Duebner both of Lewisville, Texas; and four great grandchildren.
Funeral services were Wednesday, January 31, at Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home Chapel in Hope with Rev. Jim Sayers and Dr. Mike Harmon officiating. Burial was in Shover Springs cemetery under the direction of Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home of Hope.
Cameron Tommy 'C.T.' Harris
Cameron Tommy ‘C.T' Harris, 78, of Prescott, died Tuesday, January 30, 2001, at Medical Park Hospital in Hope.
Mr. Harris was born November 24, 1922, in Pike County to John Rolf and Ordris Steed Harris. He was a retired forest ranger with the Arkansas Forestry Commission. Mr. Harris was a Baptist. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Margie Avery.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Jerry Harris of Prescott; two sons and daughters-in-law, John and Robbie Harris of Bryant and Mike and Jackie Harris of Hope; one daughter and son-in-law, Sarah and Tommy Webb of Prescott; one brother and sister-in-law, Alfred and Betty Harris of Prescott; one sister and brother-in-law, Rolferene and Hugh Freeman of Delight; nine grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
Funeral services were Thursday, February 1, at Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home Chapel in Prescott. Mr. Gene Earl Jester and Rev. Neil Calley officiated. Burial was in Delight cemetery under the direction of Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home of Prescott.
Lila Lee
Lila Richey Lee, 84, formerly of Linden, Texas, passed away July 17, 2005, at 2:40 p.m. at Golden Acres Retirement Home in Dallas, Texas.
She was born August 27, 1920, in Centreville, Alabama, to Joseph Clayton and Bessie Nichols Richey. She was the eighth child of 12 siblings. On January 27, 1939, Lila married
J.D. 'Doc' Lee.
She was preceded in death by her husband, J.D. 'Doc' Lee, 10 of her siblings and her parents.
She is survived by her daughter, Beverly Dianne Lee Nix Hauerwas and son-in-law Bill Hauerwas of Dallas, Texas; one sister, Maxine 'Pack' Freeman of Prescott; grandchildren, Shadara D. Nix, Janice A. Viola and Donny Hauerwas; great-grandchildren, Karsyn, Kyndal and Milze; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 20, 2005, at Shackelford Funeral Home Chapel in Prescott. Interment was at DeAnn cemetery under the direction of the Shackelford Funeral Home.
Family received friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, July 19, at Shackelford Funeral Home.
Madelyn Witherington Parker Murry
Madelyn Witherington Parker Murry, 94, of Hampton died Thursday, February 1, 2001.
Mrs. Murry was born August 8, 1906, in Woodberry. She was a retired school teacher and Farmers Home Administration employee. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Floyd Parker and Rucker Murry.
Survivors include one son, Jim D. ‘Red' Parker of Fordyce; one daughter, Judy Wood of Little Rock; a stepson, Rucker W. Murry of North Little Rock; a stepdaughter, Tanna M. Howell of North Little Rock; five grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; one great, great grandchild; two step-grandsons; one step-granddaughter; and 10 step great grandsons.
Graveside services were held Saturday, February 3, at New Hope cemetery near Hampton. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Prescott, 201 East Main St., Prescott, AR 71857. Arrangements were under the direction of Benton Funeral Home of Fordyce.
Louie Dillard
Louie Dillard, 95, of Rosston died Monday, February 5, 2001, at Hillcrest Care and Rehab in Prescott.
Mr. Dillard was born June 5, 1905, in the Bluff Springs community. He was a retired farmer and a member of Bluff Springs Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by one son, Donald W. (Reek) Dillard, and by a granddaughter, Teresa Ann Burke.
Survivors include his wife of 73 years, Ozell Dillard of Rosston; three sons and daughters-in-law, Bro. L.H and Lola Dillard and J.E. and Dottie Dillard all of Rosston, and Travis and Trudy Dillard of Bodcaw; two daughters and sons-in-law, Margaret and Billy Bob Rhodes of Rosston and Cedallia and David Burke of Rosston; one sister, Lula Butler of Prescott; nine grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and one great grandchild.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, February 7, at Bluff Springs Baptist Church with Bro. Donny Dillard and Bro. Ed Phillips officiating. Burial was in Bluff Springs cemetery under the direction of Smith Funeral Home of Stamps.
