Robbie Hugh Beene

Robbie Hugh Beene, 90, of Nashville, died Wednesday, April 30, 2008, at Howard Memorial Hospital.
He was born November 14, 1917, at Lockesburg, AR the son of the late Charles Edwin and Ida Belle Waters Beene.
He was a member of Sunset Church of Christ and NARFE.
A 1935 graduate of Nashville High School, he was a telegraph operator for Western Union.
During WWII he worked at an Ordinance Plant in Minden, LA.
During the construction of Narrows Dam he was the Electrical foreman and later became the electrician at Narrows Power Plant for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers which was his occupation until he retired in 1979.
He was an active servant to many in the community.
Mr. Beene is survived by his wife, Thressa Beene of Nashville, AR; two sons, Billy Beene and wife, Peggy, of Huntsville, AL, and Eddie Beene and wife, Vickie, of Nashville, AR; two daughters, Betty Johnson of Nashville, AR and Bobby Ponder of Weatherford, TX; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and many friends and relatives.
Services are scheduled for 10:00 A.M., Saturday, May 3, at Latimer Funeral Home Chapel, with David Williams and Robert Peek officiating, burial in Nashville cemetery, under the direction of Latimer Funeral Home, Nashville.
Memorials may be made to Sunset Church of Christ or Howard Memorial Hospital Foundation.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home, Friday May 2, from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M.
Linda Gilmer

Linda L. Gilmer, 65, of Delight, died Sunday, April 6, 2008, in a Murfreesboro nursing home.
She was born December 14, 1942, at Murfreesboro, AR, the daughter of the late Foy and Ervie Garner Brown.
She was a member of the Billstown Church of Christ.
Mrs. Gilmer is survived by one son, Chris Gilmer and wife, Carissa, of Billstown, AR; one daughter, Cindy Apollos and husband, Don, of Delight, AR; one sister, Betty Lamb of Delight, AR; one granddaughter, Kim Apollos; a number of nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M., Wednesday. April 9, at Delight Church of Christ, with Wallace Alexander and Randy Hughes officiating, burial in Delight cemetery, under the direction of Latimer Funeral Home, Murfreesboro.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home, Tuesday, April 8, from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M.
Harold Knight, Sr.

Harold Knight, Sr., age 72, of Mineral Springs, Arkansas, died Saturday September 27, 2008, in a Glenwood nursing home.
He was born March 2, 1936, in Murfreesboro, Arkansas, the son of the late J.D. and Maggie Lena Gordon Knight.
He was a retired Grocery Manager and was a member of the Anderson Baptist Church in Spring Hill, Arkansas.
Survivors include his wife Dean Knight of Hope; 3 sons and daughters-in-law Harold, Jr. and Beverly Knight of Greensburg, KY, Billy and Phyllis Knight of Mineral Springs, David and Cathy Knight of Glenwood; 1 sister Delores Turbeville of Nashville; 5 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be 1:00 P.M. Tuesday at Anderson cemetery in Spring Hill, Arkansas.
Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 P.M. Monday at Latimer Funeral Home in Nashville.
Nancy H. Poindexter

Nancy H. Poindexter, 86, of Nashville, died Wednesday, September 24, 2008, at a Nashville hospital.
She was born January 19, 1922, at Delight, AR, the daughter of the late Virgil and Emma Lamb Hipps.
She was a member of Saline Church of Christ and VFW AMVETS.
Mrs. Poindexter was preceded in death by her husband, Ottis Poindexter, two brothers and two sisters.
She is survived by one daughter, Donna Hamilton of Nashville, AR; one sister, Janell Roberts of Nashville, AR; two grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; a number of nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Graveside services are scheduled for 11:00 A.M., Saturday, at Brocktown cemetery, with Roger Cox officiating, under the direction of Latimer Funeral Home, Nashville.

Sue Allie Scott, 92, of Nashville, died Saturday, September 20, 2008 in Nashville.
She was born on February 12, 1916 in Center Point, Arkansas, the daughter of Enos and Ellen Rosetta (Ponder) Dildy.
Mrs. Scott was a sales clerk for Tim’s and later Carl’s, served three terms as Howard County Treasurer, and was a member of the Immanuel Baptist Church in Nashville.
Survivors include: three sons, Joe Wesson of Nashville, Jerome Wesson of Little Rock, and Royce Scott and wife, Barbara of Nashville; grandchildren, Shan Parker of Bryant, AR, Stacy Reece of Rogers, AR, Karr La Spencer of Springfield, MO, Scotty Scott of Nashville, and Andy Scott of San Antonio, TX; and 8 great-grandchildren.
A number of relatives and friends mourn her passing.
Services will be 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, September 23. 2008 at Latimer Funeral Home Chapel in Nashville.
Burial will follow at Restland Memorial Park under the direction of Latimer Funeral Home.

Joshua Blake Turner, 25, of Nashville, AR, died Thursday, September 18, 2008, in an auto accident.
He was born January 26, 1983 at Hot Springs, AR, the son of Rickey Turner and Dottie Hale Turner.
He was a cook at Buddy’s Restaurant in Murfreesboro, AR and a student.
Joshua was preceded in death by his Paternal Grandmother, Clarine Turner, aunt, Cathy Hale and nephew, Gabriel Turner.
He is survived by his Father, Rickey Turner of Murfreesboro, AR; his Mother, Dottie Turner of Murfreesboro, AR; Paternal grandfather, Bobby Turner of Murfreesboro, AR; Maternal grandfather, Denzel Hale of Murfreesboro, AR and Maternal grandmother, Joyce Hale of Murfreesboro, AR; two sisters, Heather Grabin and husband, John, of Murfreesboro, AR and Ashli Turner of Lockesburg, AR; Four nieces, Lindsey Grabin and Abigail Grabin, Jenna Cox and Johnna Grabin; and a host of friends.
Services are scheduled for 4:00 P.M., Sunday, September 21, in the Activity Center at Murfreesboro School with Ralph Posey officiating.
Burial will follow in College Hill cemetery, under the direction of Latimer Funeral Home, Murfreesboro.

Charles Edwin Hutchison, Sr.

Charles Edwin Hutchison, Sr., 84, of Dierks, AR, died Monday September 15, 2008, at a Dierks nursing home.
He was born June 26, 1924, at Mineral Springs, AR, the son of the late Bolie and Lottie Hosey Hutchison.
He was a member of Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church, he loved to sing for the Lord.
He was a retired truck driver for Weyerhauser.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Elsie Etta Jones Hutchison, one son, Mitchell Kesterson, one daughter, Phylis Westmoreland, three brothers, Verbon Hutchison, Lyndall Hutchison and Billy Hutchison.
Mr. Hutchison is survived by two sons, Charles Hutchison, Jr. of Dierks, AR and Bruce Hutchison of Dierks, AR; two daughters, Kay Wilkins of McCallister, OK and Nett Kesterson of Dierks, AR; one brother, Richard Hutchison of Nashville, AR; ten grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren, which he loved very much; one great-great grandchild; a host of other relatives and friends.
Services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, September 17, at Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church, with Bros. J.W. Gilbert and Wayne Reed officiating; burial in Sunshine cemetery, under the direction of Latimer Funeral Home, Nashville.

Bobby Joe Flaherty, 81, of Murfreesboro, died Sunday, September 7, 2008, at a Murfreesboro hospital.
He was born March 28, 1927, at Murfreesboro, AR, the son of the late Herschel and Hazel Strawn Flaherty.
He was a retired Heavy Equipment Operator for the Arkansas Highway Department; and a Navy Veteran.
Mr. Flaherty is survived by two sons, Bobby Wayne Flaherty of Murfreesboro, AR and Michael Flaherty and wife, Gay, of Murfreesboro; one brother, Jimmy Dale Flaherty of Murfreesboro, AR; one grandson, Shawn Flaherty of Murfreesboro, AR; and a host of friends.
Graveside Services are scheduled for 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, September 9, at Murfreesboro cemetery, with Bro. Troy Carroll officiating, under the direction of Latimer Funeral Home, Murfreesboro.

Betty Turley

Betty Turley, 60, of Nashville, died August 22, 2008, at a Texarkana hospital.
She was born October 15, 1947 in Highland, AR, the daughter of Dewey and Nadine Cooley Hicks.
Betty was an active member of the Mineral Springs church of Christ.
She was a volunteer for the Relay for Life, the Howard County Children’s Center, the organizer for the food and card ministries that touched a multitude of lives throughout.
Betty loved her church family, but especially her children and grandchildren.
She was a member of the class of 1965, she loved her classmates and was the backbone for their reunions and maintaining their closeness.
Betty was employed by Tyson’s for over 19 years as the Operations clerk, which she truly enjoyed.
Survivors include one son Bryan Turley of Nashville, AR; one daughter Kristi and husband Larry Jackson of Springdale, AR; mother Nadine Hicks of Nashville, AR; one brother Carroll 'Bubba' Hicks of Nashville, AR; one sister Carolyn 'Sissy' and husband Benny Frasher of Columbus, MS.
'B' as she was called by her three grandchildren that survive her include Dylan Sublette, Justin Turley, and Brittany Jackson.
Funeral Services will be 3:30 P.M., Monday, August 25, 2008 at the Mineral Springs Church of Christ.
Randy Hughes a close friend and Robert Peek will officiate the service, with Mike Reese leading a special prayer.
Burial will follow in Restland Memorial Park, under the direction of Latimer Funeral Home.
Visitation will be Sunday, August 24, from 3:00 to 5:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
