James Ponder Smith, age 67, of Nashville, died Monday, November 5, 2007 in Hot Springs.
He was born on September 4, 1940 in Nashville, Arkansas, the son of James Oliver and Fern (Ponder) Smith.
He was a clerk in retail, and member of the National Guard.
Survivors include: one son, Greg Arens of Los Angeles, California; one daughter, Christine Annette Kutnick of Austin, Texas; two grandchildren; and a host of friends.
Memorial services were held on Tuesday, November 6, 2007 at Latimer Funeral Home Chapel in Nashville with Jerry Smith officiating.
David Calvin Young

David Calvin Young died at his home on November 4, 2007.
He was a long-time Howard County resident.
He was born May 15, 1910, in New Hope, AR, the son of the late R.A. and Hattie Lee Jeffers Young.
David worked for 20 years at the Nashville Basket Factory and was a long-time employee of Tyson’s Food.
David & Minnie Belle’s house was a popular Halloween stop for children for over 30 years and their seasonal yard art was enjoyed by the entire community.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years Minnie Belle (which left a hole in his heart that was never healed); and son-in-law, Bobby Welch.
He is survived by son, Charles David Young and daughter-in-law, DarlynnYoung; four daughters, Ruth Ann Pierce and son-in-law, Graham Pierce, Mary Johnson and son-in-law, Brent Johnson, Joyce Sue Carrell and son-in-law, Tom Carrell and daughter, Kay Welch; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; one sister, Gertie Wakefield and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services are scheduled for 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, Latimer Funeral Home Chapel, with Ray Nation officiating, burial in Restland Memorial Park, under the direction of Latimer Funeral Home, Nashville.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday, November 5, from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M.
The family would like to acknowledge and thank Serenity Hospice of Texarkana for their love and attention the past few months.

Ronald David York, age 60, of McCaskill, Arkansas, died Sunday November 4, 2007.
He was born October 9, 1947 in McCaskill, the son of the late Bill Clarence York and Anna Bell Meeks York.
Mr. York was a retired U.S. Postal Carrier, and a member of the McCaskill Church of Christ.
He was a Vietnam Army veteran where he received a Purple Heart.
Survivors include his wife Glenda York of McCaskill; mother Anna Bell York of McCaskill; son Michael David York of Fort Worth, TX; 2 sisters Dotty York of Orange, CT and Virginia Huckabee of McCaskill.
Services are 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, November 6, 2007 at McCaskill Church of Christ with burial in Harris cemetery.
Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 P.M. Monday at Latimer Funeral Home in Nashville.

Zelda Mayfern Blair, 81, of Nashville, died Monday, March 10, 2008, at her home.
She was born May 9, 1926, in Helena, AR, the daughter of the late George and Marie Snyder Sanding.
She was of the Baptist faith.
Mrs. Blair was preceded in death by her husband, Kelly Blair, two sons, Bobby Raymond Blair and Timothy Edward Blair, one daughter, Betty Cardyn, three brothers, Billy, Warren and Charles Perry.
She is survived by two sons, Kelly Blair, Jr., of Murfreesboro, AR and Charles Bufford Blair of Michigan City, IN, seven daughters, Joyce Elaine Whitson, Shirley Ann Shattuck, Brenda Marie Baker, Pamela Kaye Blair, Catherine Norene Childers, Lisa Regina Lopez, all of Nashville, AR and Rebecca Lynn Walters of Cherokee Village, AR; two sisters, Thelma Swisher of Coldwater, MS and Jackie Tacker of Moline, IL, thirteen grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren; a number of nephews and nieces and a host of friends.
Services are scheduled for 11:00 A.M., Thursday, March 13, at Latimer Funeral Home Chapel, with Bro. David Blasé officiating, burial in County Line cemetery, under the direction of Latimer Funeral Home, Nashville.

Mr. Alexander was born November 4, 1960, in Goldsboro, NC, the son of Charles C. Alexander and the late Jennie R. Simmons.
He was a member of Life Tabernacle Church.
He is survived by his wife, Jackie Alexander of Nashville, AR, four sons, Marshall Evins of Nashville, AR, Jeremy Alexander of Haughton, LA, Gerry Stephens of Hope, AR and James Clark of Nashville, AR; three daughters, Regina Clark of Nashville, AR, Danielle Shamplin of Haughton, LA and Mary Beth Alexander of Shreveport, LA; two brothers, Darty Alexander and wife, Malea, of Pineville, LA, Charles Alexander and, Connie, of Baton Rouge, LA; three sisters, Aleta Hughes and husband, Erwin, of Springshill, LA, Margaret Porter and husband, Ben, of Heavener, OK and Loretta Howell and husband, Richard, of Pell City, AL; five grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and other family members, as well as a lot of friends.

Ruby May Coleman Barton, 96, of Nashville, AR, died Wednesday, March 5, 2008, at a Nashville hospital.
She was born May 6, 1911, at Nashville, AR, the daughter of the late Jasper Franklin and Mattie Pardue Coleman.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church and past teacher and member of Trinity Sunday School Class.
She was past member of Twilight Extension Homemaker Club.
She was co-owner of Barton’s Grocery and Cattle and Chicken Farm.
Mrs. Barton was preceded in death by her husband, B.J. Barton; one brother Earnest Coleman; one sister, Pearl Young and one grandson, Rick Castleberry.
She is survived by one son, Bobby Barton and wife, Nelda, of Nashville, AR; one daughter, Annie Nell Gathright and husband, Pete, of Nashville, AR; five grandchildren, Elizabeth Green and husband, Joe, of Rison, AR, Billy Barton and wife, Yolanda, of Nashville, AR, Charles Barton and wife Eunsu of Columbus, GA, Michael Barton and wife, Andrea, of Nashville, AR, Rhonda Moses and Gerald, of Little Rock, AR; seventeen great-grandchildren; ten great-great grandchildren; a number of nieces, a nephew, a cousin, and a host of friends.

Othel Daniel Eskew Polk died Wednesday, March 5, 2008, in a Nashville hospital.
She was born February 7, 1917, at Belton, Arkansas the daughter of the late Wylie and Ellen Lingo Daniel.
She was a member of the Sunset Church of Christ.
Mrs. Polk was preceded in death by her first husband, Gordon Eskew, two brothers, Gus Daniel and Gentry Daniel, and one sister, Ruth Flaherty.
She is survived by one brother, Ralph Daniel, of Nashville, AR; nephews Jack Daniel, Danny Daniel, and Lavon Flaherty of Nashville, AR; and nieces Donnell Woods, Diane James, and Nita Epton all of Nashville, AR; and Judy Ellard and Bonnie Franks of Marshall, TX.
Funeral Services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M., March 9, at Latimer Funeral Home Chapel, with Ray Nation officiating, burial to follow in Avery’s Chapel cemetery, under the direction of Latimer Funeral Home, Nashville.
Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 P.M., Saturday, March 8 at Latimer Funeral Home.

Charline McLarey Archer died March 3, 2008, in Conway, AR, after a short illness.
Mrs. Archer was born December 14, 1930, to Charles Downs McLarey, Jr. and Josie Earline (Fincher) McLarey in Okay, AR.
She returned to Saratoga High School in 1963 to finish her senior year and graduate, and she was a long time resident of Texarkana, AR.
Mrs. Archer was preceded in death by her daughter Corliss Archer Lamb, and one son, Arliss Leo Archer, Jr.
She is survived by one sister, Myra McLarey of Franklin, TN, one son, Chuck Archer of Mayflower, AR, one daughter-in-law, Karin Archer of Royal, AR, Four granddaughters, Annette Fay and Rena Koon of Vilonia, AR, Charissa Barnes of Las Vegas, NV, and Anna Archer of Royal, AR, seven grandsons, Alan Parson of Nashville, AR, Ryan Parson of Little Rock, AR, Kevin Archer of Royal, AR, Michael, Chris, Taylor and TJ Archer of Mayflower, AR, twelve great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and a long time companion, Greg Stewart.

She was born on January 1, 1910 in Highland, Arkansas the daughter of the late Rush M. and Alabama Susan (Baker) Harris.
She was a retired nursing aide with Nashville Nursing Home and member of the Central Baptist Church in Mineral Springs.
She was preceded in death by her husband Samuel Hawkins McCullough, two brothers, and two sisters.
She is survived by two sons, Jimmy McCullough of Euless, Texas and Jackie Leon McCullough of Dierks; three daughters, Betty Feemster of Mineral Springs, Donna Fricks of Ashdown, and Sammye Gentry of Yantis, Texas; one brother, Deck Harris of Lapine, Oregon; seventeen grandchildren; twenty two great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild; and a host of friends.
Services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, March 4, 2008 at Central Baptist Church in Mineral Springs with Bro. Chris Wright officiating.
Burial will be in Mineral Springs cemetery under the direction of Latimer Funeral Home, Nashville.

Magle 'Madge' Lois Robertson, 89, of Murfreesboro, died peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Friday, February 29, 2008.
She was born on July 3, 1918 in Patmos, Arkansas, the daughter of the late Luther David and Alma Lee (Ward) Rider.
She was a homemaker and member of the First United Methodist Church in Murfreesboro.
She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Raymond of the home; one son, Bob Robertson & wife, Jan of Paris, Texas; three daughters, Joy Carter & husband, Gene of Hot Springs, AR, Nancy Floyd & husband, Rick of Fort Worth, Texas, and Robin Saunders & husband Max of Longview, Texas; one sister, Mary Speck of Onalaska, Texas; four grandsons, Chuck Carter, Brad Deal, Scott and Greg Saunders; three granddaughters, Caren Dodd, Sherry Semmler, and Lauren Teague; four great-grandchildren, Carter Dodd, Callie Dodd, Zackary Semmler, and Kailee Backus; and a host of relatives and friends.

Loy Mack, 85, of Uniondale, Indiana, died February 27, 2008 in Indiana.
He was born on May 9, 1922 in Daisy, Arkansas, the son of John and Rebecca (Ray) Mack.
He was an order processer for K Mart Distribution Center, he umpired Baseball and Softball for 30 years, and was a member of the Daisy Freewill Baptist Church.
He is survived by two sons, Kim Mack of Decatur, Indiana and Johnny Mack of Uniondale, Indiana; One brother, Benny Mack of Alexandria, Indiana; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a host of friends and relatives.
Services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M., Saturday, March 1, 2008 at Mt. Joy Church in Daisy, with burial in Mt. Joy cemetery under the direction of Latimer Funeral Home of Murfreesboro.
Visitation will be 11:00 A.M. until service time on Saturday.
